Relistening to a book and knowing what happens is true torture. I like being able to understand the subtle foreshadowing and nuances but it also has me head in my hands shinji style
OKAY! The Praxian/Iaconi thing I've been mentioning in the Smokes and Magnus thing! It's time to explain it!
Technically, this applies to most any Aligned work I do, whether canon, divergent, or AU. I like this concept a lot. However, with the Smokes and Magnus thing, Ultra Magnus is there and Smokescreen gets to talk it out. They've got a long time til they get to Earth, I imagine this conversation will eventually go somewhere.
Anyway, Smokescreen is very obviously Praxian, he's got the doorwings and everything. But if you ask him, he will never say he's from Praxus. As far as he's concerned, his only home is Iacon. So he says he's Iaconi.
Why? Because he never got a chance to know anything about Praxus. The city fell and he wasn't there. Probably off training to be an Elite Guard or something. Regardless, he wasn't there and never spent much time in Praxus anyway.
Now, Magnus would be the one asking why for all this, which means Smokes has to explain this all to him. Neither of them really understands the others point on the matter at first. Smokescreen is so clearly Praxian, why wouldn't he want to embrace that part of himself, and why should Smokescreen's frame actually matter at all. His time was spend in Iacon, not Praxus.
On top of all that, Smokescreen has no real ties to Praxus. He didn't know the city or its people well at all. And it was gone before he could ever learn about it.
It's definitely more angst than the other stuff so far, but it's always rattling around in my brain when it comes to Smokescreen
Shout out to Episode 6 of TADC being probably the only show that got so good, that I had to put down my food to finish it

Just like to say with regard to that other ask I'm all here for smug Blake. Give me a Blake with a cocksure smile and the knowledge they're the hottest person in the room. A Blake that knows with one blown kiss MC is putty in their hands. I'd say I would spend all day inflating their ego but no ego is big enough for such an astonishing demon.
Blake is the type of person to be that cocky, but they’d never delude themself to thinking they’re the hottest in the room (even if they feel like it). You know why? Because you’re usually in the room with them.
“You’re quite astonishing yourself, angel.” They throw a loose arm around your shoulders, lips pressed chastely to your cheek. “Don’t sell yourself short.”
