v tujih jezikih: izmed najverjetnejših osumljencev hrvaščina s fingirati v istem pomenu, italijanščina s fingere (lagati, predstavljati si, oblikovati) in nemščina s fingieren (hliniti, zaigrati). (Tu postavljam kot izvor nemščino in ne npr. stare visoke nemščine ali česa podobnega, ker besedo najdem le v pravopisu in sskj-ju na kvadrat, ne kakšnem starejšem slovarju, to pa mi da misliti, da je bila prevzeta relativno nedavno. Pa tudi ne sliši se mi kot stara, zdavnaj udomačena beseda, ampak to je irelevantno.)
V hrvaščino iz nemščine, v nemščino izposojena, v italijanščino pa podedovana iz latinskega fingere (oblikovati, gladiti, krasiti, lagati, zavajati, poučevati). Iz praindoevropskega korena *dʰeyǵʰ- (oblikovati). Iz tega sta npr. naš zid in deža (<- nova beseda zame, mogoče za jutri) in pa druga polovica besede paradiž — ograjen vrt, pri čemer je -diž zid. To zdaj ni najbolj točno, točnejša razlaga si zasluži svojo objavo, ampak nekako približno vam vseeno povem kot zanimivost!
