Today is my last day of work. I start vacation on Monday for 2 weeks. I am so excited and looking forward to it. But there's another side of me that is hesitant.
I don't remember the last time I was not working for that amount of time.
I am suffering burnout. It's pretty severe, I think, based on research I've done online. My biggest fear is that 2 weeks isn't enough. Recovery times can be upwards to a year.
I fear one of two things. That my nervous system will start to recover. I will begin to feel normal again, not stressed, anxious, irritable, or exhausted all the time. Only to return to work..
The other is that the moment I return, I'll be right back to where I am now.
In a way, I feel I can not win..
These 2 weeks are not about recharging my interest and passion for my job. That part of my life is over, no matter my career choice.
It's about recharging my interest and passion for myself. That's my focus.
Heartbroken, world broken, what's the point of anything...
