Danny said he didn’t mind, but Tim knew that Danny had to have limits somewhere. He was worried what would happen when they found them. He tried not to think about it too much.

It was nicer, anyways, to get to wake up in Danny’s bed both well rested and pleasantly exhausted. Danny always made them breakfast, though if they got to it before Tim got to have some rounds of his own fun was always fifty-fifty. Today, breakfast had been pushed thoroughly into the brunch time frame.

Tim felt pretty proud that they managed to eat before it became lunch, with how Danny had been determined to play with Tim.

Alas, Tim did have some things scheduled for after that Danny, and Danny had an afternoon class and then work. They parted reluctantly and without enough time for Tim to run by his place for a shower and change of clothing. It left him in a pair of exercise shorts over Caroline’s leggings, one of Danny’s shirts tied in the back to not just swamp him, and, best of all, one of Danny’s leather jackets.

There would probably end up being paparazzi pictures of this, knowing Tim’s luck. At least Caroline had worn low cut sneakers instead of heals. Small blessings. Would it be too soon to start leaving clothing at Danny’s place? Just so that they could each change to be more comfortable?

Tim checked his watch and picked up his pace a little. Sure, he was Tim Wayne and so wouldn’t actually get into trouble if he was late to the appointment, but he wanted the time to make sure everything was perfect with Cass’ birthday present. While Tim knew that Cass would love almost anything as long as it was from family, he also knew that Cass deserved to have every birthday be special after missing so many.

Luckily he made it just in time and everything was turning out perfectly. He felt pleased that he had taken the time to track down the small shop; the artisan truly had a way with jade. He’d be able to grab it in a week, which would be plenty of time to get it wrapped for the party even if he lost track of time.

As Tim made a note in his phone about the pick up date, he could feel the hair on the back of his neck stand up. He glanced around through Caroline’s sunglasses before he switched over to his phone’s front facing camera.

A white van, of course it was a white van.

Tim made show of ‘reading’ something on his phone before he picked up the pace as if he was late for something. There was a square close that would be populous enough it would probably dissuade them.

‘White van sit. I expect a heroic rescue.’ Tim sent through to family chat before he shared his location. It was as good as he was going to get because he was pretty sure that Caroline didn’t carry a panic button with her. He tried not to sigh as he snapped a picture of the van and sent it through.

Dick: Shit omw bby bird

Jason: Where the fuck is your tracker, Tim?

Tim: Funny story there…

Jason: Yeah, uproarious. Evade. Coming on bike.

At least help was on the way. And he was to the square. It might buy him enough time if he went through—

A short electrical whine. Something slammed into Tim’s back. Like being hit with am MLB fastball. He crumpled. People screamed and scattered.
