That was the first thing that Link could discern. Riding slowly through this unfamiliar forest, it was the sole thing he could work out. This wasn't Hyrule, that much was clear. That said, it wasn't a great measure. There were plenty of parts of Hyrule that didn't look like Hyrule. For the moment, all he reasoned he could do was just keep riding until he found something that even slightly resembled a settlement.
Humming to himself, he gently nudged Epona forward, following the path through this forest. Thus far, everything seemed straight forward and peaceful, though Link had seen no signs of life, human or otherwise, for a while. It was enough to make him be on guard. The number of times that complete silence had been the prelude to ambushes or attacks made Link wary.
As he rode along, he kept scanning his surroundings. Perhaps something would give itself away, or someone would come along.
