⊰ || ⊹ | Rainbow River was just as the locals (at least, residents who have been in the city longer than he) described it to be. Absolutely stunning. There wasn’t a hint of human pollution in sight! Even with the many picnics being held, litter seemed to be a rarity. Perhaps the many sheep helped clean the place up?
Hitori sat at the river’s side, shoes removed so that bare feet could feel the cool crispness of the grass, natural and well maintained. If he ever sees Nageki again, he’ll have to take the younger birdie here... if, that is.
The faintest of sighs, one that could easily be mistaken for a whisper of the wind. The young man pulled his knees close to his face, Light brown eyes gazed at the waters of the river, its ebbing and flowing, as he found himself deep in thought. Luckily, he was able to notice as a dove made its perch besides him. ||
❝ Oh! I was wondering when I’d meet a fellow birdie. ❞
|| The chime in his voice was noticeable as the brunette quickly turned to face the dove. He could immediately identify just what species it was-- a rock dove, one of the most common pigeons among most continents. As such, he might have even mistook this bird to be a student he once met at his previous school if he didn’t know better. ||
❝ You really do look like Kawara-kun. I wonder if he’d find his way here as well. Though it’s not so bad when you meet another bird despite being surrounded by all these humans, right?
I hadn’t realized so many humans can be gathered in one place... the only human I have much contact with is Miss Tosaka. ❞
|| The teacher paused, waiting for a response from the dove, who simply tilted its head curiously. A blink, before following up with another question. ||
❝ Perhaps you are one of the birds that can only coo? Croo coo coo? ❞
|| It wasn’t all that peculiar if any bird cannot speak a language properly. Okosan was one-- though he spoke only in coos and COOS, he could still be understood by others. Genetics and advancement of the brain tend to differ from birdie to birdie, but all were birdies nonetheless. Hitori continued his attempts at communication, looking up only to notice a raven-haired young woman peering at him, an eyebrow raised. ||
