nobody in my family actually cares about me like I’m not being dramatic. I’m not talking about my parents but like my older brother doesn’t know me at all and doesn’t try to, my aunts eyes glaze over when I speak, my uncles the only ones who ever asked me anything about my thoughts, and my grandparents only about if I have a boyfriend yet. It is so exhausting to feel disconnected from everyone in my family who I’m supposed to be loved by. And it’s because I’m the only girl in the family and because I’m my father’s daughter and everyone hates my dad. I’m so so sick of it. They ask my brother and little ass cousins about their thoughts and goals and interests and they ask me if I have a boyfriend yet and interrupt me if I speak. So I’m the quiet moody one because no one respects me enough to let me be anything else. One day I’m gonna have to come out to them and see the disgust and disappointment in their eyes and either lose them or put up with the heightened otherness for the rest of my life.
