Tony had seemed to ba having the best luck he’d had in a long time. Tech he was making was becoming even more of a success, the world seemed to be a little more at peace with less fighting and threats, he began to feel much better with his PTSD managed more reasonably and his heats had become more regular. He had been noticing they were a little all over the place and had been very strong and, although the intensity had stayed, they had become easier to manage because he coud predict when they’d be; which made his life much easier considering the Alphas he was surrounded by. 

He pulled the protective mask over his face as he worked on welding some materials together, part of the project he’d been working all night on for a business deal, before the scent of an Alpha drifted to his nose. It was faint, the person was probably on the other side of the door to the workshop or something, and it made Tony pause not wanting to blind whoever it was that was coming in with the bright light from the welding torch.

on a good day his brain in in constant loops. one idea after another with no space to even condemn any of the bad ones but lately there was a weight like a crushing memory. something that kept playing on a loop in his head, the way he could feel the blood. he could feel himself there as if he was dying all over again. as if he could feel his lungs giving way, causing his breath to turn more rapid now as he paced. hands so twitchy he'd picked up the guitar, began to break things. began to talk endlessly about this new campaign. about this dragon he was gonna defeat but he was stuck in vines and he couldn't get out and he forgets himself. forgets the present with ease and begins to find himself dragged and stuck in the past. when the guitar smashing doesn't work, his hands are balled so tightly he's almost certain his rings are drawing blood and then he's laughing so ridiculously. reminding himself of how many people were happy for him to be dead, how many still went to his grave to drive it around and take away any dignity it had. that's what vecna did right? tore away at the good, at everything that made you able to breathe until you had nothing left. until that's all it was for years and years.
