Kagakasa 15. things you said with too many miles between us (God it was so hard to pick one)
send me a ship and one of these and iâll write a mini fic.
KAGAMI WAS ALWAYS ON HIS PHONE. Of course there was a reason for this. He was using every chance he had to talk to Kasamatsu. After finishing up his third year in high school and graduating, the two spent a lot of time together. This also led to Kasamatsu breaking the news that heâd be moving away for college. Kagami didnât really know why he didnât just go to college in Tokyo where they lived but he decided not to question him if this was what he really wanted. It was hard to say goodbye, it always is. He often recalled how bitter their parting kiss felt and how heavy his shoulders felt after he watched Kasamatsu board his train. After he left, he started using his phone a lot more. He was always texting and they made use of their free time by video calling on Skype. They spent hours together through the virtual world of communication. It was the only way for them to see each other at this point. Neither of them had the money to be going back and forth as they pleased.Â
KASAMATSU WAS A LITTLE MORE AFFECTIONATE OVER TEXT. He said a lot of things through text message that he wouldnât say in person. Probably because Kagami couldnât see or make fun of how red his face got. He never deleted a single text message. He still had the texts from when they first started to talk, the texts from after they started going out, the texts from the night before Kasamatsuâs leave, and the texts with too many miles between them. It was hard for Kagami and it was probably even harder for Kasamatsu. He had to deal with completely new surroundings, new people, new ways of living, and their long distance relationship on top of that. Kagami was still living in his everyday routine in Tokyo.Â
ONE THING THAT DID CHANGE WAS THAT HE GOT A PART-TIME JOB. He decided that he would save up some money. He wanted to go visit Kasamatsu and see his new place and the new scenery. âI got a job, senpai.â Kagami said, one day over the phone. He could hear how surprised his boyfriend sounded on the other line. He explained that it was part-time and that it was only because he wanted to go see him. The silence after that made his heart squeeze and he could imagine Kasamatsu blushing. âY-you didnât have to do thatâŚâ He responded, his voice trembling slightly. âI wanted to.â Kagami murmured, letting out a deep breath. He was scared that the point guard would yell at him for it or get mad but he was glad that he didnât. âYou know how much I love you, right? A long distance relationship isnât anything we canât handle.â Taiga said, determined to make this relationship last. Itâs not like their relationship was in any danger, though. He couldnât say that not being able to see each other in person didnât matter because it did. But if they had phone calls, Skype, and text messaging, it would be okay. He strongly believed in their relationship and their ability to communicate. He wouldnât let something as petty as distance get in between them. âIâll definitely come see you soon, Yukio.âÂ
