i mean yeah, she’s good at reading. she’s always been a bookworm and the studious type, even if lately that interest has turned to more practical use than something to entertain. she can read things fast and still digest what she’s read. she can probably understand words scrolling across a screen just as fast as it tries to put them out for her.
as a bonus: i like to think she’s trying to learn to read alien language – if galrans, or alteans have their own native tongues, etc – just because it seems like a useful skill to have. even if they probably do have ways to translate via computers or something, she’d still want to learn for herself.

i feel like, at the very minimum, pidge would be better at taking care of other things than she would herself. she gets so wrapped up in what she’s doing sometimes that she’ll forget to take care of her own needs (eat, sleep, etc), but i think she would handle other things differently?
at least i hope so omg. she had a dog at home, so i’d like to think she wasn’t just completely neglecting it/letting the rest of her family do the work.
plants might be another story tho tbh, since they are more of a passive presence and not as obvious about their needs as like, a dog wanting food or love. she’s probably killed every plant she’s been in charge of because ‘okay this time i won’t forget’ – and then she absolutely forgets.
i like to imagine pidge made a copy of the footage from when she hacked the garrison probes on kerberos and she kept them and she still has them (on her computer). they served no use in helping her figure out what happened to shiro/her family like she wanted, but she held onto them because -- well, for grief reasons obviously. it’s hard to let go of something when you know it ties directly to someone you’ve lost. also because she probably scanned the recordings like hundreds of times just to make absolutely sure there was nothing on it to find.
but kerberos is also really pretty in her opinion and she was probably wondering what it looked like ever since matt and her father announced their trip, so. it’s not all bad.
How about animals? Does she prefer any kind in particular or none at all?
well her family has a dog, which i’m sure she loves to death. also may or may not have been the little puppy eyes (lol pun) that talked her parents into adopting a pet in the first place.
since she isn’t a people person, it’s very possible she may have an easier time getting along with animals. also because she’d be super interested in learning about them too. i think she would treat a visit to the zoo like some big animal museum, which in a way it kind of is, so. as for specific animals, uh… the science nerd in me wants to say reptiles? like snakes and lizards and geckos. because those are really neat to learn about and i think she’d have a lot of fun learning about them.
on a semi-related note, pidge is probably that creepy kid who thinks insects are cool, too.

also pchew what does she look for in technology? say, for example, Pidge was given a brand new laptop, what would be the first thing she'd do with it?
she would probably want to know 100% exactly what it was capable of right away. every little detail possible on that. so the different hardware inside, and the specifications of those, would be a first and very important piece of information for her to find out.
she’d be the person you want to take with you to the computer store because she’s the one that will be able to make sure you aren’t getting jipped into buying a $600 piece of shit. she’d have ur back fam
pchew headcanon Do you think Pidge enjoys anything typically considered feminine? Like wearing dresses/jewelry/etc.
i want to say not excessively? but i wouldn’t rule out everything.
she doesn’t strike me as the type to wear makeup and dress up super nice and hang out at the mall with all of her friends, but i could see a few little things. like picking flowers (flower crowns????), the occasional nail polish, some “”””girly”””” colors (purple/pink etc) and “”””girly”””” foods/drinks (sweet or fruity things). i like to think she preferred her long hair over her now-shorter hair if that counts too.
i want to say she doesn’t like dresses that much, but will Suffer Through for formal occasions (like seeing her brother/dad off to kerberos!).
