How they’d ended up here was pretty much a mystery by this point. Amalia had headed to the bar with the sole intention of having a few drinks at the end of a particularly bad day and now here she was, laughing and joking around with Carter Abernathy of all people. It wasn’t that she disliked like him, at least not any more than she disliked most people but the two barely knew each other and to think they’d been talking away to each other for so long that they were the only two left in the bar was pretty amusing to say the least. “Hey” she pointed at him, her words slurred as she reached out to steady herself on the counter. “You said you were going to dance with me and teach me how to make cocktails but you haven’t done either of those things. So you better get moving or I’ll be forced to tell everyone that you’re nothing but a big fat liar!”
