card of vipers. haneul meets ji-hoon in a thieves' den.
With a lean of a shoulder dressed in light leather armor against a wall, Ji-hoon’s attempts to be intimidating were more than successful with how wide of a circle most of the passersby were giving him. With arm guards covering his surprisingly strong forearms, a deadly gladius strapped to his waist and a quiver full of arrows to supply the longbow on his back he almost looked like he belonged there, in the den of thieves. A grunt for hire, a skillful looking lad in peak condition, with just enough years behind him to have experience but not too far along to be thought of going soft or weak yet - an opponent to be wary of the most. He could hold his ground here even if someone tried to pull a rug from under him on a whim. So, no one dared, just in case.
He was not sure why Valdís chose this place out of all to meet up but if she somehow had business here it was for the best if he were the one picking her up. He’ll ask questions later. Ready to see a familiar face anytime now, he was surprised that he did get to see one very quickly after he himself had arrived. It was just not the one he expected.
“D-dominus! I, uh–...” Uncommon for him but he stammered. How to explain in not so many words to the lord of the Kwon estate, the brother of his current charge and employer, that he was not at this highly suspicious place on business. He was simply waiting for someone. But then… the question of who that someone was would arise and suspicion would likely transfer to Val as well… Instead of digging himself into a deeper hole Ji-hoon just opted for a stiff greeting, a typical soldier’s salute he’d give anyone of a status higher than his. But then his eyes imperceptibly harrowed. What was lord Haneul doing here…?
