@icameasiam Continued X - V; The house we share - Car rides & Late nights
He tried not to let the things that people said- or that his mother did effect him. He knew she wanted to do more about it, as well, and he didnât want her wasting her energy worrying about him. It was why he stayed silent more times than not- he thought a lot, sometimes too much. She was the only person he let his guard down in front of, and sheâd never know just how much that helped him. Before her, he had no one. Even his âclosestâ friends werenât aware of the depths and darkness that his mind could go. She might not know all of it- but sheâd seen plenty more than anyone else, and sheâd never looked at him the way strangers had.
He never looked at her like a burden, or like she was taking up more of his energy than he could afford, because the fact of the matter was that she wasnât. Before her, he spent so much of his time alone- or off with his friends divulging in illicit activities that had landed him in holding cells more times than his mother would ever admit. His attention snapped to her when he heard the lie in her voice. He didnât look away from her as she spoke, even though she was doing her best to void making eye contact. He could hear that she was about to break- that something else, if not just left over emotion from earlier, was bothering her. âHey-â He broke his silence as he leaned towards her slightly, his forearm resting on the steering wheel. âI donât do anything I donât want to do.â He reminded her, his tone taking on that familiar sterness it did when he had to remind her that he wasnât taking care of her out of some âobligationâ to do so.
âIâm going to get in fights with people either way.â He pointed out. âIâm a psycho killer, remember?â He stated, the humor behind his joke gone. He swallowed when she finally looked at him, and he saw the look in her eyes. âWho else bothered you?â He questioned her, his brows raising. He wasnât going to let her push her problems down just because she thought he had too muh to deal with. He also wasnât going to make any promises he couldnât keep. The truth was, he had been prone to fighting before all of this- before their lives were turned upside down. That wasnât going to stop even if hedid start letting peopleâs shitty actions slide when it came to her- something he wasnât even considering.
He wiped tears from her face before his hand cupped her jaw. âI am going to get us out of this town. Out of that house.â His eyes focused on her intently. âI donât care what I have to do. We will not be stuck here.â He promised- and that was something he very much planned on keeping.
