“Yeah, I did,” Michael countered as he looked at her before focusing on Liz’s face and moving to patch her up as best he could. “This might sting and for that I’m sorry but it will help,” he admitted. If he was being honest with himself he knew that Max would be very helpful right now but he wasn’t so he they were left with doing this the good old fashioned way. At her apologize Michael frowned and tilted his head as he looked at her. “Why are apologizing? You have nothing to apologize, Liz.”

Mentally rolling his eyes if he were to publicly make that action he wouldn’t hear the end of it from her, he turned glancing at his bourbon “I thought you weren’t a drinker.” Klaus teased his hand reached his crystal bottle swirling the content once before he poured at the companion glass, setting to the bottle down he turned handing her “here you go love, now what is going on with you? a new love interest?”

“Not avidly, no, but I can appreciate a good drink every now and then.” Once upon a time, she’d been just as much of a drinker as the rest of the Mystic Falls teenage crowd. When he presents her with the glass, however, she takes it with a warm grin before dropping, gently, onto the ornate couch. “A new love interest? Hardly. I’m swearing off all things relationships right now.” She answers with a small shake of her head and a light laugh. “I just... decided a visit to New Orleans was in order and you, obviously, were the first person to come to mind.” 

“Is that not impressing you? It’s true, ya know. And it’s got the ladies lining up to make a visit to chez Puckerone.” Maybe that was an exaggeration. Some of them would scoff and the next thing he knows, he’s covered in the nearest drink or food they could find nearby. It was a good sign that she hasn’t gone to reach for anything to throw at him. Yet.

𝐒𝐇𝐄 𝐂𝐎𝐔𝐋𝐃𝐍'𝐓 𝐇𝐀𝐕𝐄 𝐁𝐄𝐄𝐍 𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐄 𝐓𝐑𝐔𝐓𝐇𝐅𝐔𝐋, 𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐄 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐂. They had all the time in the world, and even Klaus knew, he’d NEVER turn her away. That might have been a problem, but he couldn’t define it as any such thing now. The pure electricity between them was something almost undefined, and it was something he could scarcely put into words. Then again, Klaus rarely tried. 

❝Perhaps I should. Perhaps I should put some sort of CONDITIONS on because who knows what you may come up with in a century’s time.❞ He was only teasing of course, watching her as she took the drink. ❝Perhaps a hint?❞

For as long as they have to live (baring the next big bad and their attempt to ruin their lives), Caroline will never admit to enjoying the security of this back and forth they have. Even when she’d known she shouldn’t care, shouldn’t gravitate toward him the way she does, she’d been unable to help herself. Now that there’s little to nothing standing in their way, if they ever decided to be... more than this back and forth... well, technically they could do what they wanted. 

“Oh, but I think you should guess.” Caroline claps her hands together lightly, offering him a bit of a beaming grin. Truthfully? There’s really no rhyme or reason for her to be here at all, except for this burning desire she had to see him. One that she’d been ignoring for far too long.

“I may not be Fred Flintstone, but I can make your bed rock.”

Klaus smirked hearing her typical response, his tongue rolled across his bottom lip “Caroline Forbes offended? well I don’t intend to do such thing.” 

With a roll of her eyes, she nods toward the decanter of amber liquid resting near him. “Much better. Aren’t you going to offer me a drink, then?”
