With your palm curving against the small of my back drawing me near like I am the most delicate thing you have ever held

It would be so easy

You have a finesse I only long to emulate     Except for maybe that time you grabbed my face in a rush     when I said something self-deprecating     and kissed my cheek to shut me up     But that I forgave quickly     attrubuting it to a few beers on your part,     and an entire bottle of white moscato on mine

So much energy tethered in one place you starrify my every cell

You are so near my soul, and so far from my heart

Let my fingers intertwine with yours to bridge the distance Let me hold you a little tighter for a little longer

Maybe I’m not even certain what I feel is real

And I realized I think you knew the whole time. And I hurt for the girl that wrote this. And maybe worse, I hurt for you.
