✜ what’s their posture like in a normal situation?
(( A normal situation, for him, involves being alone in his lighthouse or on his own, in the wilderness.
When he is on his own, at home and relaxing, his posture isn’t much different from any other mage spending too much time sitting reading books. His back is a bit too arched, his neck and head leaning a bit too forward, and his stance his relaxed. Couple with his bodytype, he seems like a short, thin bit of metallic tread.
In the wilderness, there isn’t much change from that. However, he often looks up or down, crouches, and holds his bag as he gathers ingredients and looks around. He might look slightly more relaxed, too, depending on the weather and the region, finding himself appreciating the calm and simplicity of the swamps and forests.
When he is in presence of someone, in a normal situation, Celeos’ features tend to become even less pronounced, as he tries to keep a low profile so that people do not talk to him, and he doesn’t end up embarassing himself. His head tilts down, his shoulders falls, and his movements are rather reduced. He can be seen fidgeting with his fingers, or crossing his arms, legs crossing and shifting his weight from one foot to the other, trying to find a comfortable spot he hardly ever finds. ))

⌆ A nervous tic or habit they do
(( Given his personnality, Celeos has a lot of nervous tics plaguing him, ranging from minor ones to nearly incapacitating ones, mental or physical, from his gestures to his appearance. Some of the most obvious signs of his nervosity would be his stuttering, or blushing, but those aren’t exactly tics.
Something less subtle would be what he does with his hands when he thinks he’s not doing anyhing with them. Celeostends to hide them or use them to grab things if he’s not actively talking to someone or trying to comfort himself by rubbing his palm or such gestures. Ideally, this happens when he thinks noone is looking, and outside his home, in public. Even “alone”, he will tend to hold his bag or the leather strap holding it, if he’s got one. He will hide them in his pockets or his sleeves, a little too large for him. He will touch an object he owns, like a small vial, stop touching it, rub it clean and start toying with it again, without even really thinking about it. ))

❖ Describe their hands
(( Celeos’ hands are long and nervous, like fidgety spiders. Only when he manipulates ingredients and potions, or otherwise remain focus on a task involving them, don’t they seem febrile.
The joints of his fingers are large and knotty, and his metacarpal bones can show on the back of his hand, at times, along with apparent, thick blue veins due to his pale skin. While his hands are still young, this can sometimes make themlook like the hand of an old man.
The skin is still elastic, young, but rough from the use of chemicals and components for his experiments. While Celeos is usually careful, it is common for him to come in contact with urticant plants, irritating components, or even downright dangerous materials, although those are much more rare. Cuts and minor wounds are often to be seen, too.
One noticeable thing is the way his nails are uneve, as he bites and chews on them regularly, either out of nervosity or simply as a bad habit. the skin around it often shows minors wounds, as small strips of dry skin detache and he pulls them off. ))

[ 9. Does a bad habit they’ve had forever get them in deep trouble? ]
(( In many ways, it is Celeos’ habit to not get in trouble that got him the most often in trouble. He tends to avoid conflicts and difficult situations, instead of dealing with them, which ends up in problems piling up only to crash down on him. A reccuring example would be his relation with the Mages Guild, with his superiors and peers having to pester him to receive his papers, and having to sanction him one way or another.
But considering deep troubles, few have been worse than his actual adventures in necromancer lairs. His magical talents, developped as they may have been, often proved that they couldn’t make up for his lack of preparation and experience. A particular time, he found himself cornered and wounded, and only owed his life to the other mages sent with him on the expedition. ))
Will they become prosperous in their future? Do they rise in the social ranks or fall into poverty?]
(( Celeos has never lived in prosperity. While his time with his parents was very decent, he never needed much on his own. His affiliation with the Mages Guild and his allocated budget for researches helped toward the acquisition of his home, and he regularly visits Leyawiin where he trades potions and ingredients with a handful of alchemical stores, as well as with the local chapter. It hardly makes for good money, especially since he limits himself to people he knows, Celeos not feeling confident enough to try and find better deals.
It usually suffices, however. Celeos mostly lives of what he can gather in the region, and buys food he cannot collect on his own. His clothes are mostly used, but he does what he can to keep them in a decent condition. Most of what he makes goes toward various supplies, from parchment to ink or the odd alchemical supply, even though he already owns a sufficient number of tools to take care of his experiments.
As years go on, his crippling self-esteem will not make anything better for him. His lack of presence among the higher ranked and more visible members of the Guild, and the scarcity of the works he contributes to its library will slowly make his importance dwindle, and even though his work is usually met with interest by a few, Celeos’ tendency to write papers as if they were personnal notes will be seen as a lack of professionalism. Not “academic” enough. As a consequence, his budget from the Mages Guild will become thinner and thinner. Occasionnal missions assigned to him will make for the odd payment, Celeos often trying to help with more academic matters, or to lend a hand in the research of a colleague, rarely taking care of necromancer threats after what happened to Archmage Traven. Still, his lack of social skills will often result in other mages crediting themselves for his contributions, and Celeos will remain mostly unnoticed. ))

On the nature of alchemy
[A few old parchments, with a few stains here and there. The handwriting is steady and shows application as the paper begins, to then grow more spontaneous and nervous, the dissertation degenerating into what sounds more like personal notes and ramblings.]
On the nature of alchemy
Alchemy in its most basic idea could be summed up by an attempt to give physical form to one or more magical effects, through the manipulation of various ingredients and their inherent magical qualities.
This is hardly true in most cases, as most potions (if not all) found throughout Tamriel are mostly the result of altered elements, most commonly plants, and the use of the different substances and their effects on the organisms. It is still true that many have various magical effects, and even some of the most mundane mixtures (typically poisons and restorative balms, potions, and syrups) still show signs of magical properties, despite owing the most part of their effects to purely "natural" traits.

Celeos
Celeos is a young Breton mage, born on the 1st of Morning Star, 3E408, under the sign of the Ritual. For the most part, Cel lives in an old, abandonned lighthouse north of Leyawiin, Cyrodiil, in the middle of the Niben. A mage and an alchemist, Celeos has got a rather brilliant mind, and while lacking the experience older mages build up throughout the years, his work remains worthy of note. Unfortunately, he is awfully shy and his crippling self-esteem makes it hard for him to interact with anyone but his most trusted friends, resulting in a vast waste of his potential. Noticeably, he tends to stutter easily, although it proves to be mostly nervous, and does not manage to remain calm when in presence of persons he finds either intimidating, or attractive, often both at the same time. He proves reluctant to talk about a number of topics, although none as much as his childhood and his life prior to oining the Arcane University. He is willing to reveals he grew up in Leyawiin, with his parents and brother, but tends to remain evasive. In contrast, he can show enthusiasm when discussing matters purely related to intellectual pursuits, mainly theories revolving around magic. In such occasions, he sometimes manages to overcome his stuttering, and can discuss at length, until he is reminded of his own presence and his self-esteem drags him down again. Would he not be so closed to others, there is little doubt that Celeos could teach at the arcane university, share his theories and discoveries, help creating magical devices or a number of productive things. But instead of that, he just stays in his cozy little lighthouse surrounded by water, isolated, living his little peaceful life. Continuing on such a path, it is likely that any useful work he might produce, any breakthrough he might achieve, with either die with him or gather dust on an old shelf. He spends most of his time on his researches, having particularly focused on alchemy, druidic rituals, and theoretical magic. He particularly appreciates to walk among the trees, deep in the forests and swamps, looking for fresh ingredients as well as fresh ideas.
