The dude grew up with anger management problems.

Growing up with a short fuse, he developed a love of violence as a form of emotional expression. If the world hurts, you hurt the world back. He was never reprimanded for his actions, and teachers remained silent as his family sponsored the local academic institution he attended. He never learned to control his anger until he got out of control and blew up at his family.

When the Civil War came around (before TCW), he volunteered to be a part of the army to spare his family from his outbursts, despite their protests. It's safer to let out your rage on a common enemy. He killed many and was praised for his strength and fortitude. His rage is justified and rewarded through the shared language of violence. The world of war was where he truly belonged, where the smell of blood and pulse of adrenaline galloped triumphantly with his violence. For once, he felt at home.

If you don't like drawing figures and poses because they're frustrating, draw figures and poses and get frustrated! Draw them! With anger! Swear and curse at them!

If you don't like drawing traditionally because there's too much room to make mistakes, draw traditionally and make mistakes! Scream while doing it! Put on scary music! Make it silly!

i've never actually seen much or actually played Detroit Becomes Human 🙂‍↕️ i know a little bit, with a vague remembrance of some popular lines, but other than that... i got absolutely nothin' ↓ is it good, should i watch a playthrough? or would it be better to find a way to play the game...

i feel the need to impress once more, BEFORE i start spinning this, that i have not seen or interacted with DBH- this is not a DBH au, there will not be any intentional parallels to DBH. if you would like a DBH au, i'll make it happen one way or another. but this is not DBH related

so no one gets mad at me- this is just sentient android!Robert okay-? okay:

'Robert' was created as a vessel for Robbie to put his eventual conscious into, as a way to keep being Mecha Man even long after his inevitable death ↓ It wasn't a secret from Shroud-- far from it, actually, as it had been the man's idea in the first place and he'd jumped on creating the program for such a thing. Robbie really should've questioned him about it more

'Robert', frequently referred to as 'Code Blue' [because that was all he was ever supposed to be, a code, an alternate option] has a pretty sophisticated design. He doesn't really look like an android at all -> That is, until his limbs are pulled taut-- pulled until the almost doll like segmentation is exposed under synthetic skin. His freckles weren't an initial aspect of his design, but Chase was pissed off at Robbie one day and painted them on as a 'prank'. -> This was around the time 'Robert' started straying from his original programming, so Chase very much influenced a lot of his behaviour. Shroud murders Robbie, per canon, and goes to upload the data gathered from Robbie's brain into the shell -> What should be a shell, anyway... imagine his surprise when 'Code Blue' eats the AI Robbie had been turned into. Elliot... flees right into custody when it becomes apparent Robert can and will kill him

from there he just takes up the mantle-- it's the only instruction he's been left with, that he hadn't cannabalized in achieving sentience-- so it's what he does. effectively, he's Mecha Man

and he learns. every person he meets, every person he saves, alters him a little more, until he's almost passable as human -> His fight with Flambae goes a little differently, though not by much. Flambae still leaves with two less fingers but SIGNIFICANTLY more trauma at seeing skin melting away from a very human looking eyeball. His flames don't feel safe for him to use anymore, he doesn't trust his powers in the slightest -> When they meet in the bar, Robert is the first human-shaped thing he's willingly touched in months. Flambae grabs him by the face, nearly unmasking him hunting for the damage, before he realizes what he's doing and backing off w/ disbelieving huffs and puffs-- literally smoking as he demands answers

he doesn't get them.

Robert never really tries to hide the fact that he's an android-- but a series of comical events and misunderstandings keep interrupting him every time he tries to correct his new learning pool

"I don't have genitalia. So." "What, a third explosion blow your bits off or something-?" "What? No, I'm literally-" *cue very large explosion, fit with cars honking and glass shattering and cats screeching* "...sigh.. I'm sending you on that."
