Old art from 2017 of my trainer and some of my favs. Took so many liberties with the designs, nowadays I tend to be slightly more faithful to the official designs
This was posted on my long gone old deviantart account but I still keep the description so I'm gonna copy paste it here to preserve some of that teen-me cringe lol
[ Lately I've been playing Pokémon White and remembering old times and kinda got back my interest, well, sorry, OBSESSION for Pokémon, so yeah, expect me to draw lot of Pokémon.
Anyways, getting to my team. It took a lot of will to limit my team to Pokémon I can get in Platinum and White, since my awesome brother sold Pokémon X/Moon and without GTS or Wi-Fi connection in general, it has become impossible to get any Pokémon that is not legally available in those games to catch, so yeah, no Zoroark nor Salazzle for me, as I wanted, geez. Oh, and don't get me started in shinies and legendaries, I wanted a team that I could get easily and everyone knows shinies are pretty easy to get, as for legendaries, well, I wanted a ''normal'' team, no legends, bye bye Shaymin Sky Form, I'll miss you.
Finally I could think of a team of Pokémon I love and can be easily caught in those games, oh boy, here comes the nostalgia. Ahem.
Obviously I had to have a dragon Pokémon, at first it was gonna be Salamence, but after thinking a lot about it, it's kinda meh compared with other dragon Pokémon. Then I saw Hydreigon...how could I never realised how awesome it was? really, I even trained a Deino for weeks just to get it years ago, just look at it, loot at it! six wings, SIX, those colors, its dark type (which it's one of my favorites btw), even its cry is cool, it's a damn BEAST. The only thing I don't really like about its design are the hand-heads, I read those aren't even conscious, umm, I just pretend they're just normal hands that look like heads when closed or something. Anyways, yeah, a Deino will be my non-official starter if Pokémon were real. Just imagine how cool it would be to fly on top of a six winged black/blue dragon. Woah.
-Lumi - Luxray - ♂
Okay, this one was pure nostalgia (and it looks cool too). Luxray was that Pokémon I fell in love with when I started playing Pokémon Diamond (it's now lost, bye bye). I remember before I could get the game, a friend would show me all the Pokémon he had in his game, he had a LUXRAY (level 35, I still remember) and I was amazed at how cool looking it was. Later I got my game and caught a Shinx, that bastard took sooo long to evolve into a damn Luxio, I had no idea at what level he would evolve so I thought Luxray was very, VERY hard to get, I even planned a strategy in my mind to ''convince'' him to trade his Luxray for some random Ponyta, I failed. But in the end I got MY Luxray, yay.
-Coral - Vaporeon - ♀
An eeveelution was a must in my team, I used to be obsessed with them long ago. Vaporeon is my favorite, it was Umbreon before but Vaporeon looks so beach-like, dunno, it's a Pokémon I would expect to see in a tropical beach, I like that, also, that blue color. I wanted a water type Pokémon, first Lapras then Vaporeon, I like it better.
This one wasn't supposed to be here, I had on mind an Aggron before (dunno, it looks pretty cool) but I wanted to have a psychic Pokémon and, out of all the ones available in my games, Espeon was the prettiest one. I associate it with paranormal-like things, such as psychic powers, astral projection, etc... which I ABSOLUTELY LOVE. I remember I had one in X because I leveled up an Eevee way too much to get an Umbreon but it was at day, when I realised Eevee already hit puberty, it was too late.
-Sandy - Garchomp - ♀
Nostalgia strikes back. Don't know why but I associate this Pokémon with Sinnoh's Victory Road, maybe because some random guy has a Gabite, also, Cynthia's nightmare flashbacks...It's not the most dragon-looking Pokémon but I love its design, it's pretty interesting and cool in my opinion, I mean, it's a damn land SHARK, A LAND SHARK, with its spines, its cool colors, its arm-blades, man, I love this Pokémon. I'm not a fan of having two Pokémon of the same type in my team (HAH, I was the one who wanted to have a Salamence, a Hydreigon and a Flygon in my team) buuuut, Garchomp is just so cool....And to think I almost chose Flygon over it...don't get me wrong, Flygon is awesome and one of my favorite Pokémon, but I think Garchomp is more original.
-Royal - Serperior - ♂
I don't know why people hate so much Unova's starters, even Emboar is kinda cool when you get used to it, but Serperior is just majestic. I love this guy so much, it was my first starter in Pokémon Black (lost too) I remember perfectly the day I got my dear Snivy. I pre-ordered Pokémon Black in a game store and four days before it was released, my mother got a message from the employees telling her to go get the game. I was crazy about getting Pokémon Black, I was waiting for it since September 2010, this game store was inside a shopping center, when I got the game my mother decided to eat at some cafeteria near the store. While waiting for my food to arrive I played the game and got my little lizard, I remember I loved to touch the screen for the Pokémon to turn back and said to my brother 'Aww, look how cute', those were good times. Later I deleted my file and chose Oshawott instead, why. Anyways, Snivy-Serperior has a special meaning for me because I was eating some delicious food after getting the game, that's it. Also, I like lizards.
I've realised I have a Pokémon of each generation (VI and VII doesn't count, I'm limiting my team from Gen I to Gen V) but Hoenn, I love some of the Pokémon there, buuut I never played Gen III, I never had the games, so bye bye nostalgia, which is what I have on mind the most when it comes to choose my team. Kanto-Johto are kinda meh, I played SoulSilver/HeartGold (and original Silver was my very first game, sadly my file died when I beat that third gym leader from hell) but dunno, it felt a bit dull in my opinion, the games were amazing, but it doesn't bring as many memories as Gen IV and V (yeah, Gen V is my second favorite, I LOVE it)
Anyways, that drawing was a very fun to draw (the sketch I mean, the rest was a pain) so I'll let my hands to rest now. ]
