Also, the racist troll is probably literally just the racist and on from the racist anon saga again, cuz they're just so desperate to keep trying to defend the series except refusing to actually do anything that would defend it if what we were saying wasn't actually true.

You know, like just giving us actual quotes from the books? Because if what we were saying was really blatant lies, then wouldn't that be so easy to prove by literally just quoting the parts from the book that prove us wrong?

If murderbots slave owners really did start immediately treating it like an equal in book 1 as soon as they quote unquote found out it was a real person, then why isn't there such a fucking quote that these people can pull that says:

"After that, they started treating me like an equal, like I was a real human. They insisted on thanking me for everything that I did, and asking if I was okay, and kept apologizing for enslaving me in the first place, and they started giving me rest breaks, and even tried insisting that I didn't need to do security at all, and could just stand around or even sit on the furniture and watch media, listen to music, or read books all day if I wanted to. But I kind of liked it. It wasn't what I was expecting. But, they were so nice to each other, it kind of made sense that they were nice even to me, even if I wasn't a real human like they were.

So I got to spend five whole days where I didn't have to do any work, where I didn't have to stand around and pretend I was busy, and I didn't have to clean up after their trash anymore either. They actually let me go where I wanted to, when I wanted to, and sit on the furniture, And even eat some of the snacks from the human grade kitchen instead of just the flavorless nutrient blocks that I was supposed to eat.

I got five whole days where I got to do nothing but relax and enjoy my favorite music and books and movies and TV shows.

It was the first time, in as far back as I could remember, that I had had "nice" owners. It was nice. And it kept making me wonder how much nicer it would be not to have any owners at all.

5 days, where I got to just enjoy myself, and not do any work. I got to sit, and watch my owners sweep the floors, and carry things from one room to the other. And they were so cheerful about it too, they didn't even try to make me feel bad, and when I did start to insist I had to help out of habit, They insisted I go back to what I was doing, and they actually meant it.

And then we got the news that the DeltFall habitat was under attack. They were screaming on the phone, begging for help, trying to warn us, And it all cut off abruptly.

Mensah and some of the others wanted to go and help, and they wanted me to stay behind, where it would be safe, because I had apparently, already done enough to help them and didn't need to endanger myself anymore.

But there were other SecUnits that had been brought to this planet by DeltFall, and their current owners probably weren't as nice as mine were, and I wanted to save them.

Maybe together, if I could hack their governor modules, we could all find a way to free ourselves, so that we didn't have any owners at all."

You like that extremely basic fanfiction I sat here and just spelled out with speech to text? See how easy it is to be in character? Almost like this prose has no effort put into it whatsoever and is the most basic thing ever. That stands will pretend they suddenly don't know how to read when it comes time to deny that there is slavery apologism in the series.

Almost as if, if we were actually lying about there being slavery apologism in the series, there would be millions of passages exactly like that showing the statements that everybody loves to throw around like claiming that the preservation ox team, murderbots explicit slave owners, "treated it like an equal the second they found out it was a person"

When that is explicitly what does not happen in the book. And literally never happens.

When Mensah get's the sole character description in the entire novella, mentally replace her "dark brown skin and light brown hair" (Repeat performance of Colorism from Martha Wells: none of her characters who are people of color can have natural Black hair that is... black. Nor can any of them be described explicitly as "a Black woman"-- no, instead, she has dark brown skin.... but her hair is light brown. Lighter than her skin tone. Colorism. in. Action. A more inclusive and insidious form of more overt racism.) with "pale white skin and light blonde hair" as the Head Slave Owner in the context of the full entire story, instead of allowing her actions to be *Blackwashed* as the white author's Black OC Slaveowner.

Read this series under the lens of how it is treated not scary disposable robot-people (who are literally dehumanized people), but as actual marginalized, disenfranchized enslaved people who have thoughts, feelings, emotions, and interiority that you are being told point-blank to ignore and dismiss as being below not active care, but even *noticing* how many slaves are being brutally murdered for the crime of being enslaved, when it is fully, effortlessly within the protagonist's power to free every single slave it encounters, and has been within its power for over 4 years before the story began.

So brown people enjoy the antiblack series that is upholding antiblack slavery apologism? And you think this is somehow proving that it's not antiblack at all OR doing slavery apologism? That nonblack people enjoy the series that is explicitly upholding antiblack stereotypes to uphold slavery?

The things these people do to murderbot before the story is even halfway through is just nightmarish, but Martha Wells gloss is over all of it or portrays it as positive, and people refuse to read critically, so 99% of these people literally have no idea what the fuck even happens in the goddamn first half of the story, let alone how it actually ends.

Martha Wells is literally training her audience into accepting slavery apologism and anti-intellectualism. And it's working.

And even when people are trying to argue that it's not, they literally still cannot ever provide any evidence of their claims that "well, they're nice slave owners!" A, there's literally no such thing as a nice slave owner, and b, they literally treated horrifically, so not even on a surface level are they nice. Martha Wells just does not want you to notice or remember the horrific levels of abuse they put murderbot through in book 1 alone, not even getting into anything else they do to it throughout the rest of the series.

And if you think I'm wrong about this, then show me the quotes. Reread the book.

Find me all of those passages where immediately after it saves Bharadwaj and Volescu they immediately start treating it like an equal.

Show me where they apologize for not realizing it was a person, nd aapologize for enslaving it, And do everything they can to make up for the fact that they literally fucking rented out this person as a slave, and immediately start treating it like an equal and stop treating it literally like the slave they went solar systems out of their way to rent out.

In 5 years or so when the rest of the world catches up with this shit, you are all going to look extremely fucking embarrasingly racist trying to argue that this series isn't just House Elves 2k17.

If you think that I am wrong about there being slavery apologism in this series, then literally show me the quotes from book one where they immediately start treating murderbot like an equal. Show them to me. How they immediately instantaneously start treating murderbot like an equal once "realize it's a person".

And again, we've seen preservation. We're told robots there are treated as equals. So ask yourself, if they thought murder bought was "just" a robot, why were they still literally treating it like a slave the entire time? I thought Preservation treated robots as equals and wasn't literally also enslaving them?

Martha Wells has admitted that Murderbot and the other "constructs" literally are just dehumanized cyborgs, but she doesn't want people to actually know this, so Murderbot, as the character, seeing itself as *literally subhuman* (Not just nonhuman, subhuman. It literally does not see itself as having ANY value outside of sacrificing itself for "real humans".) is just more slavery apologism, and Martha Wells telling us, the audience, that we have to agree with the in-universe slavery apologism, that these people are not human, because they're physically disabled.

Because Murderbot doesn't identify as nonhuman, it sees itself as subhuman. There's a big difference. Murderbot does not even get to be aware of the fact that it is a cyborg, so it's not even able to reclaim a nonhuman identity.

The only reason Murderbot identifies as subhuman, specifically, is because Martha Wells wants all of us to agree with the literal in-universe slave owners who've decided that if you're too physically disabled, you can no longer be considered human.

It's literally just antiblack, racist, ableist eugenics. Literally dehumanizing physically disabled people, specifically physically Disabled Black people (which Martha Wells has been telling people Murderbot is in interviews since 2018), and asking us to agree that "it's just basic biology" that if someone has "too many" prosthetics, they're not human and they never were.

Murderbot doesn't idenfiy as nonhuman because it genuinely identifies that way and finds joy in it. It identifies as subhuman because it does not value its own life or the lives of other slaves. It literally thinks its life is worth nothing unless it can protect "real humans".

There's a difference between writing an actual alterhuman character, and doing antiblack, ableist slavery apologism literal Nazi propaganda, and Martha Wells is not writing about an alterhuman character. She's just telling us all that we need to agree with her and the in universe slave owners that if you're too physically disabled, then that means you're not human.

It's the exact same problem with Murderbot only being aroace and nonbinary because it literally lacks genitals. It is possible to write a story like this without being bigoted, but Martha Wells isn't doing that. She's just stereotyping and dehumanizing real oppressed people and telling us we have to agree with literal Nazi propaganda and the in-universe slave owners who decided that physically disabled people are subhuman. And Martha Wells literally expects us to agree with that.

Martha Wells probably doesn't know alterhumans exist. She's not writing Murderbot trying to be progressive. She's literally just asking us to agree with real life Nazi ideology that says physically disabled people are subhuman.

She could have made Murderbot literally just be an actual robot, but she chose not to, because along with her endless racism, she also absolutely hates physically disabled people.

Because she wants to pretend that writing a nonbinary character is just like writing a cis character, when that's literally not how this fucking works, epecially not when the character in question is a dehumanized slave who's referrred to with it/its by its slave owners *explicitly when they do not see it as a person*, and there is no fucking introspection or conversation about this whatsoever in the story, leading readers to have to assume that those aren't actually its pronouns, *that's just what its literal slave owners are calling it to dehumanize it*.

There is never any fucking conversation ever in this entire series in 10 years now about it/its pronouns and dehumanization and reclaiming them or a nonhuman identity or anything.

Because Martha Wells doesn't actually care about nonbinary people, or respectfully representing us, let alone respectfully representing the horrors of slavery and antiblack racism and ableism and dehumanization.

She literally wnats you all to celebrate her being snarky on twitter about people getting Murderbot's pronouns wrong, while she actively shits on the concept of asking people their pronouns, and refuses to ever let Murderbot actually exrpress ANYTHING WHATSOEVER about its gender or pronouns that would actually assure people that yes, its pronouns are it/its, that's what it wants to be called.

You literally do not get to write its literal slave owners calling it "it" ~before they realize it's a person~, and then continue calling it "it" while literally still treating it like a slave the entire time, and then pretend you're confused about why people are unsure what pronouns they're supposed to use for Murderbot, when you had every opportunity in the world to have this conversation in book 1, if only you actually gave a shit about ANYTHING you are choosing of your own free will to write about.
