I really like all of this, but I made a few updates to the phases and stuff, lmk what y’all think, and please feel free to share your own ideas!
Ban discrimination in favor of women: basically, make everything equal opportunity, and present the policy changes this way. For example, make it so that men and women have to complete the same physical fitness requirements in the military, police force, etc., and ban laws that require a certain number of women, arguing that qualification should be what determines employment and promotion.
Ban feminist ideology in schools: again, this is a good one, frame it as making schools politically neutral so that they can’t promote a specific ideology. As time goes on, this can become stricter, completely banning talk of women’s rights as completely ideological.
Restrict abortion: a good law, throw it to the states and then lobby the states to promote more restrictive laws. Define abortion past a certain time period as murder on the federal level to lay the basis for a ban.
Pack the courts with men: what’s arguably more important than writing the laws is interpreting and enforcing the law, which is what judges do. Pack the courts with male judges who have records that are more conservative in regards to women’s rights. This can make it harder for women to get sexual assault convictions and restraining orders, and it can make patriarchal laws stronger.
Child welfare policy: this is already a pretty popular policy, but give families money for each child they have on the basis that families with children need support. This should promote higher birth rates
Work from home: this is a weird one on the surface and seems unrelated, but a recent study showed that work from home policies may have the highest impact on raising birthrates, so to promote having children, this would be a useful policy, and it’s already really popular as well.
Make divorce harder: this can come in many forms, but I think a good way to do this would be to require a minimum number of couples therapy sessions so that women have to jump through more hoops to get a divorce. Justify this on the grounds that people who get married should try to make it work
Marriage welfare: provide tax breaks for married couples and perhaps give them certain benefits, on the basis that married couples need support for starting the next phase of their lives. Less popular than child welfare benefits, but it should still be relatively popular.
Make marriage easier: make it so that there are very few requirements to get married besides being above 18. The goal of these first three policies is to get women married and then keep them married.
Restrict teaching: make it so that teachers can’t teach about how to recognize “abusive” or controlling behavior on the grounds that it will teach people how to abuse others. The goal, of course, is to make it so that women can’t recognize abuse
Increase evidence requirements for workplace sexual harassment claims: nothing much to add here, this should help deter women from entering the workforce
Gut federal agencies responsible for the enforcement of gender equality: agencies like the EEOC, OCR, and the OFCCP, among others, on the grounds of streamlining the government
Remove anti-discrimination laws: the original poster had this in phase 2, I think phase 3 makes more sense, as it will take time to lay the groundwork to make this more popular. Justify it on the grounds that people should be free to hire and associate with whoever they choose, make it about freedom
Restrict birth control: this can be done in a few ways, the main one being higher taxes on things like condoms and pills. We could also establish a minimum age for permanent birth control methods on the grounds that they’re too young to decide
Promote women staying at home: the government could give money to families where women stay at home. Many feminists have even proposed doing this on the grounds that women should be paid for their currently unpaid labor, meaning they’ve laid the groundwork for a policy that promotes stay at home moms.
Increase evidentiary requirements for rape and sexual assault claims: good policy, but I think it can be moved up to phase 3 and justified on the grounds of not wanting to send innocent people to prison
Get rid of mandatory schooling policies: policies that mandate kids attend school promote gender equality by ensuring parents send their female children to school, rather than keeping them at home to help with chores. Remove this requirement so that girls can be kept at home
Child labor restrictions: this may seem unrelated, but it’s important and goes with the previous policy. If there aren’t strict restrictions on child labor, and no schooling mandate, many parents may send their male children to work instead of school, which would damage male earning potential and make power in general. We need to make it so that boys are encouraged to go to school while girls aren’t
Ban scholarships that target women: justify this by claiming they provide a discriminatory financial advantage over men
Restrict lesbian marriage and cohabitation: good policy, best way to implement it would probably be to throw it to the states
Legalize public nudity for women and the appearance of nude women in media: this can be justified on the grounds of freedom, when in reality it promotes the objectification of women
Legalize sex work and make it easy for sex workers to unionize: unions increase wages, so by legalizing sex work and unionizing them, sex work will become a legal and lucrative career for women, pushing more and more women into sexualizing and objectifying themselves
Mandate shared bank accounts for married couples: justify this on the grounds that a married couple should work together when it comes to financing their lives. This will make divorce harder
Give HoHs custodianship over adult dependents: this should include control over the bank account, though maybe that specific aspect should be moved to phase 5 or 6
Change voting laws so that HoHs vote on behalf of the family: justify it on the grounds that families should work together and be united in creating a better society for their family
Restrict divorce: get rid of no fault divorce so that women will have to prove abuse to get divorced. With the increased evidentiary requirements mentioned earlier, this should be very difficult, making divorce rare
Redefine abuse: I don’t know exactly what definition should be used, but perhaps something along the lines of “punching or kicking the spouse or causing permanent damage to their physical health.” This will effectively legalize forced corporal punishment, as a husband bending his wife over his lap and spanking her will not be considered abuse, and without no fault divorce, she can’t divorce her husband for doing so
Promote patriarchy in school: this will have to start off more subtle, through policies like having biology teachers teach about the differences between men and women, and history classes teaching the long history of patriarchal societies
Give husbands custodianship over wives: good policy, not much to add here
Redefine rape: again, not sure exactly how to redefine it, but perhaps something along the lines of “the forced penetration by a man into the vagina of a woman who is not his wife.” Not only would this legalize spousal “rape”, but it also essentially legalizes anal and oral rape
Legalize arranged marriage: families can arrange a marriage for their daughters and force them into it
Provide benefits to the parents of a married couple: justify this on the grounds that they are losing support from their child and therefore need additional support from the government. In reality, this will financially incentivize families to force their daughters into marriage
Give men priority in hiring: justify this on the grounds that unemployed men pose a major danger to society, and thus the government should support policies that prioritize employment for these men
Gender segregate schools: justify this on the grounds that boys and girls being in the same school causes disruptions and distractions, then teach different things at boys schools and girls schools
Ban women’s suffrage: moved to phase 7 because this will likely take a while to become popular and garner enough support
Ban women from jobs in strategic sectors: justify this on the ground that they pose a threat to national security, then expand what is meant by strategic sectors so that employment for women becomes nearly impossible
Ban sex workers unions: we legalized them earlier to increase wages, but now sex work will be one of the only jobs women can perform anyway, so unions only serve to help organize the women, and should therefore be banned
Require unmarried women to marry their rapists: this used to be a law in many places, and can be used by men to force the women they like into marriage
