“How are you feeling?” Huelet?
16 year old Huey rushed to Launchpad, who was just coming out of the Woodchuck infirmary.
“Where is she?!” Huey demanded, unable to keep the anger out of his voice. He had trusted Launchpad with Violet’s safety, only to find out that he had let her go after one of Isabella Finch’s artifacts alone.
“Inside, Hue. You need to calm—” Launchpad tried.
“I am calm!” he snapped. Before the pilot could get another word out, Huey pushed past Launchpad, and into the infirmary. It was mostly empty, but he spotted a nurse. “Where’s Violet Sabrewing?” he asked, trying to keep his voice leveled.
“Second floor. Minor head injury, and twisted ankle.” the nurse reassured.
Huey rushed towards the second floor, and spotted a dim light from coming out from underneath a closed door. He gently opened the door, only to find his girlfriend of 2 weeks on a cot, a bandage thickly wrapped around her head.
“Jesus, Violet…” Huey started, walking over to her, and getting down on one knee.
She smiled at his disheveled state. “Hi.” she greeted.
He got down onto his knees, and gently grasped her hand. Violet blushed when he kissed each of her knuckles, gently pressing his head against her hand, closing his eyes.
“God, Vi,” he murmured. “When I heard you were injured… I just came as fast as I could.”
“Title of your sex tape.” she joked, though it was clear as day she was shaken up.
He shot her a playful glare, but frowned. “How are you feeling?”
“My head’s a little sore, but I’m okay. I can’t walk for a few weeks, so I guess you have to take over my troop.” she smiled.
He sighed. “Why did you even go after Finch’s artifact alone, Vi?”
She let out a shaky breath. “Because I… I just wanted to prove myself to your Uncle Scrooge. Your family’s full of these talented, seasoned adventures. I just wanted to prove that I was good enough for you—”
He cut her off with a chaste kiss, making her blush.
“You dummy,” he scolded. “Violet, you’re more than good enough for me. I’m in love with you. You shouldn’t have to prove yourself to anybody, Scrooge McDuck or not.”
She smiled, and giggled. “Well, I guess I got hurt for nothing.”
Huey smirked, nuzzling his nose against her neck. “How about we both go after that artifact, once you’re all healed up?”
She smiled. “Sounds like a plan, Hubert.”
He gently got onto his feet, and pressed a gentle kiss against her forehead. “Get some rest. I’ll tell your dads what happened.”
Before he could leave, she caught his arm. “H-Hubert? Can you stay with me? Your company is reassuring.”
He blushed. “If we get caught—”’
“Then they’ll just have to deal with it.” she smirked deviously.
He raised an eyebrow, and smirked. “Alright, but if I hurt you, you have to tell me.”
She nodded, and he climbed in, making sure to avoid her head and ankle. He gently wrapped an arm around her figure, and she leaned back into him, drifting to sleep instantly.
