A poet without her muse

trying to turn myself into the villain

just because I didn’t get what I wanted so desperately.

I trained my soul to believe

that I was the reason everything fell apart.

But at the end of the tunnel,

there was a light.....

small, yet strong enough to save me.

It wasn’t unfamiliar;

it was something I had always known,

yet never realized held this kind of warmth.

And for the first time in a long while,

I felt it.

From that moment,

the light began to grow.

It gave more warmth than it ever had before.

Slowly and steadily,

it consumed the darkness inside me,

healing parts of me

that It never broke.

It forgot how many times

I tried to dim its glow,

how often I pushed it away.

It understood me

more than I ever could .

It never counted the hurt,

the pain I caused.....

known or unknown.

It only stayed.

Still giving warmth.

Still giving safety.

Still coloring my life.

So it’s fair to say

my life was black and white

before I met it.

It was the color.

And that light was HIM....

the one I pushed away,

the one I once called selfish.

But the universe corrected me gently,

because he changed himself

just for ME.

And all he said was,

“You’ll always be my baby.

Babies make mistakes.

And They learn.

It’s not your fault,

And I love you no matter what.”

Then he hugged me,

and in that embrace,

every tear dissolved,

every ache softened,

and every pain

finally let go.
