PERSONAL USAGE

WHY KEEP TRACK OF IT? ocd aside, i personally keep track so i know which characters aren't receiving as much attention as other characters! i like to keep a symbol on their name on the artfight website for not attacked since 2+ years ago (✮), not attacked since last year (♪), or not attacked ever (♡)! while i'm not sure if it helps or not, i still think its neat! :) i also link the sheet on my profile, so other people can also easily view which ocs have less attacks, n which have more! in case they want to pick an 'unpopular' one~

HOW DO YOU KEEP TRACK? i simply update it as i get attacks! there are some blank years because i start counting from the day the character got added to the site. ocs added in 2024 will have 2021, 2022, and 2023 as blank periods because i take part in artfight since 2021, and they weren't there at the time

WHY THE COLORS? organization! i try to match the year's color to the color of the team i joined :) but this is just a personal preference and you can edit the sheet however you like! this is also why 2026 is white, because, as of writing this, the teams haven't been revealed. but it'll be updated accordingly ^___^ to get rid of all the colors, just press ctrl+a, click on the color bucked, and on reset! (or whatever new color you want)

to paint a whole row instead. just click on the row's letter (like H) and select the new color! you'll have to paint the big "number of attacks" cell again, but you just need to select it specifically n paint it black again (or whatever other color you want)

GOOGLE SHEETS TIPS (pc only I think)

HOW DO I MAKE A COPY OF THIS SHEET? file > make a copy > n adjust settings accordingly! :)

HOW DO I DELETE EVERY WRITTEN ENTRY AND IMAGE? ctrl+a > delete

TO MAKE "LARGE ROWS", click here!

this button will merge whatever row/column you have selected, as long as they're next to each other (either on the sides, or on the top/bottom) if you need to remove some column of a year you haven't participated, you can just delete it without having to split the "number of attacks" merged cell. if you need to add years, it'll be added in a split way. like this!

you just need to select the two cells (the new one and the merged one) click the "merge" option :) you don't need to split a merged cell to add new cells to the big one! it's the same process to split previously merged cells, in case you need to do it ^_^

4. TO INCLUDE IMAGES, you can do it in two ways (afaik) first one, you just copy the image you want there (let's say, the toyhouse icon of your oc) and just paste it there. it'll look like this:

after that, you just click the 3 little dots on the top right corner of the image you just pasted, showing this menu, and you click there:

this will paste the image in whatever cell you currently have selected. if you accidentally de-selected it, or wanna make sure you're currently selecting the correct one, you can just drag the image and click on it again

as for the second method, you select the cell you want to include an image, go on the "insert menu" > "image" > "insert image in cell", just like this!

this menu will open, and you should just navigate it accordingly. i personally upload it directly in the pictured menu, but, as you can see, there are may other options! but regardless of what you pick, it'll include the image in the cell you're currently selecting

5. TO EMBED LINKS, you also have two options! for the first option, you right click into the cell you want to embed a link in, and click on this option!

after you do that, it'll open this neat menu right here

i have no clue how you use it in any other way other than just pasting the link there! so just paste it there! :) after that, you just click apply n you should be good

for the SECOND option, you should have a blank cell. just as before, right click on it and follow the same steps

the only difference between this method and the previous method, is that you're filling both the text and the link at the same time. you write whatever text you want to embed in the "text" area, and, in the one below, you paste the link you want to be embedded

regardless of the method, just like the image one, the result will be the exact same. just do whatever's best for you~ every step is completely optional, but this one is the most optional one (??) because i rly just keep the links embedded because it's something i link on my artfight profile. if it was just a personal thing, there wouldn't be neither images nor embed links :)

6. HOW DO I ADJUST THE COLUMN/ROW SIZE? you either hover your mouse pointer between two columns/rows to manually drag the left OR top one it like this:

or, for more precision, you can right click into the column/row and click on "resize column/row"

i prefer doing it like this because you can select multiple columns or rows to change it all to the same specific size, and also know how large you need your columns/row to be in case of adding new ones! you cannot, however, resize a column and a row at the same time. just multiple columns, or multiple rows.

7. HOW DO I ADD MORE COLUMNS/ROWS? you right click in a column next to the place you want to add a new one, and click one of these options

the new column/row will be the same size as the column/row you're currently selecting! on this spreadsheet, for instance, there are 100px wide rows and 21px wide (default) rows. if i right-click the 100px row, the new row will also be 100px. if i right-click the 21px row, the new row will also be 21px! it's a neat way of adding whatever you need in the size you need, without having to manually change it later :)

to reorder columns and rows, you just click n drag to the place you want them to be! rows cannot be turned into columns, and columns cannot be turned into rows.

if you have any questions, i can try to answer them. if i'm wrong in anything i wrote here, and/or there is an easier way to do something i've explained, you can also tell me that ^_^ everything i know is from messing around google sheets as a hobby. i love making sheets. but a nerd can also be wrong :)

there's also the option to make a dropdown thingy instead of manually filling each cell. for that, you right select every cell you want to be turned into a dropdown, right click, and then click here:
