AMBRIA (RESHADE 5.X.X PRESETS)
Let’s get to business cuz there’s a lot to talk about these presets.
Compatible with Reshade 5.x.x (preferably 5.6.0 or above) and probably 4.9.x
Also compatible with GShade (the latest version or any of the late versions before the GShade controversy)
9 variations in total: 4 with sheer bloom, 4 with decent bloom, and 1 for gameplay
They shouldn’t cause any severe lags on strong computers when used, especially the gameplay one since it has only AmbientLight, FilmicPass, Levels, Colourfulness, and Vibrance toggled on.
Included in the download are all the presets, used shaders, textures I currently have, and settings of preprocessor definitions of some of the shaders).
No hotkeys have been assigned to each shader. This is to not annoy those who play their games using shortcuts, like myself.
If you’re new to Reshade, I highly recommend watching this tutorial by @kindlespice where she demonstrated the installation process of Reshade 4.9.1 and covered her Dove V2 preset. However, instead of installing version 4.9.1, you’ll actually download Reshade 5.6.0 . After selecting Direct X9, you’ll be taken to the page that displays shaders aka effects. You must install all the shaders it offers. The reason I say this is that you may find some of them useful in the future if you plan to adjust my presets or use other presets offered by other creators.
These have already been included in the download.
MXAO 4.0.2 EX.fx (Necessary)
If you’re still using Origin, the presets will go in your C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4\Game\Bin folder.
If you’re using the EA app, the presets will go in your C:\Program Files\EA Games\The Sims 4\Game\Bin folder.
To my knowledge, if you’re using Reshade 5.6.0 or above, MXAO and DOF will function as normal despite having Edge Smoothing enabled. (This works only outside CAS.)
Conversion is not necessary.
The presets will go in your xxx\The Sims 4\Game\Bin\gshade-presets\Custom folder.
MISC. INFO & DISCLAIMERS:
The images above were taken with the Twinkle-toes lighting mods, No Blu (Darkest), and No Glo installed; and Edge Smoothing set to High.
The “sheer-mxao” presets are suitable in settings with dim lighting.
For nighttime shots, you can toggle off AdaptiveFog so that the sky is no longer bright at night.
If you use any of the presets and find the results not similar to that of my images, there’re 3 things you need to do (Warning: there’s a chance these actions can affect other presets you may have)
Replace the shaders corresponding to the ones listed above with the shaders included in the download.
Replace the entire Textures folder with mine.
Refrain from using that malfunctioning preset. Once you exit your game, go and delete the preset and replace it with the fresh one from the download.
If you use the presets with The Sims 2 or 3, the results might look slightly different.
You can message me with any concerns but I don’t promise I will completely correct or troubleshoot anything.
Frankly, this is the longest post I’ve ever composed…
