"hal jordan is a jobless loser" "hal jordan has no job no car no money" yeah and that's WHY he's the greatest green lantern. there's plenty of people who can be brave fighting against giant space monsters, that's why there's so many green lanterns. but hal is the bravest & most willpowered because he faces very real, very painful issues that can't just be fixed with a magic ring. he's dealt with every "what if" that people stay awake at night worrying about--losing a job, loved ones, losing yourself--and yet, he still faces all of those obstacles and keeps going. and sure, you could compare characters by stacking up their accomplishments and doing some power scaling bs. but the reason that hal is such a beloved and wide reaching character is because he faces not only the supernatural, but the mundane. he's been to the lowest of lows, and that's what makes his legacy as a hero that much greater.
