Later on, Ry gets sent to space and Stratt and Carl packed his stuff for the Hail Mary. They just pack all of the clothes he had with him, Colt's shirt included. When Ryland wakes up he doesn't remember anything (obliviously) so he also forgot he has a twin. He just thinks the shirt is his even if it's very different from his science pun shirts. Later when he remembers Colt he has a breakdown because not only did he realize that he will never see his twin again, but he also remembers that he doesn't even know if Colt is alive after the last thing he heard of him was from the news that Colt broke his back. So the shirt becomes a sacred item to Ry, a memorial to the life and family he will never see again (he didn't correct Stratt when she said he has no immediate family because 1. Why would she believe him that he is the twin of a famous stuntman, and 2. Colt and Ry haven't talked in months. He didn't know if he was dead or alive so it might as well could've been true that he doesn't have family anymore if Colt died)

And then there is Colt. Colt, who cut off contact with his twin after he broke his back, just like how he cut contact with everyone else. Colt, who didn't talk to Ry for 18 months. Colt, who watches the news with Jody about the launch. He told Jody about his twin after they got back together so she knows about Ryland. Colt even tried to get back in contact with him but couldn't (bc he was either in the labs or the ship). So when they hear the news, Jody tells Colt how brave his brother is to do that and asks if Colt is proud of him. But Colt just stares at the TV blankly because he knows better. He knows Ry doesn't even like using something as simple as elevators. He knows that Ryland didn't volunteer, he hides his fury behind a smile and a thumbs up, telling Jody that he is proud of his twin while in reality he would like to do nothing more than to tear apart the people who took his brother from him. Colt would also feel guilty because he and Ryland didn't talk so long and now they will never talk again. So the last thing Ry knows of Colt was that he broke his back (which he likely heard from the news) and that his brother ghosted him after the accident

Something I want to put on the back of a jacket. Also got patches to put on additionally on the sleeve and front. This is just a scribble of the actual plan
