films i’ve watched recently and my thoughts on them (movies for weird girls edition (?))

- house (1977)

rating: 4/5

this is probably my ideal horror movie. it was rather uncanny, eerie, PSYCHEDELIC. not so scary. now i'm in no way an expert on the history of film technology, but for something made in the late 70s its quality and editing is pretty good. the special effects and use of the green screen were a bit funny to watch because of how weird/bad they looked LOL.

- kamikaze girls (2004)

i freaking LOVED this movie. it was so cute and quirky. also i have a huge crush on anna tsuchiya oml she was so hot in this film. if i could, i would love to have a physical copy of this movie on dvd! i definitely think this is a lovely sapphic coded film, so if you're into that, check it out! i def recommend it if you loved but i'm a cheerleader :P

i really wish that i liked this movie more because the motifs and character of it were so whimsical. davina (the main character) was kinda relatable too. i wish it was more focused on devina and less on her relationship with her shitty bf... i wanted to see more of the creative and pretty sets, like devina's bedroom.

this is your reminder to always be specific about what you’re manifesting… cuz last week i was with my friend at one of our dining halls and i wanted to manifest them serving butter chicken. ig this is a bit of a rant lol!

sooo yesterday i check the menu for lunch and they’re serving butter chicken. (honestly did not expect this manifestation to come so fast lmao) however… all i affirmed for was this dining hall to serve butter chicken. i didnt ever specify that it has to be GOOD (i mean it IS dining hall food). tell me why i ate this and it tasted and looked nothing like butter chicken LMFAO. on the screen beside the serving station it said butter chicken… so i knew i wasnt going crazy. it was more like curry chicken (which i still like). it also didn’t taste like it either. idk if it’s just my cultured tastebuds that snooped that it was not actually butter chicken… but i mean it was alright.

so yeah… i technically did manifest my dining hall serving butter chicken except it was not what i expected LMFAO. i’m still super grateful btw… but definitely use this post as a reminder to be specific about what you’re manifesting, no matter how big or small it may seem.

i did in fact get really good news 24 hours after i reposted that… i got tickets to a concert that originally was sold out! 😭 this is also my first official concert that i will be going to… it’s right after finals week so i will have something to look forward to when the semester ends!

so basically i have this journal that i write a bunch of different stuff in, mostly lists of goals and stuff. usually when i made these lists, they would have checkboxes (so that in the future i could look back at them and check off the things id already accomplished)

however, one day i decided to write down a list of all the romantic/sexual experiences i wanted to happen (fantasies essentially) (this was very random and i lowkey don’t remember what motivated me to do this lmao). but for some reason, this time i used bullet points instead of checkboxes. and when i wrote them down, i wrote them as if they had already happened (ie. • Making out at night behind a building) i had forgotten about this list after i wrote in it. i didn’t use it for awhile actually, until i found it again and rediscovered this particular page.

low and behold a few months (approx 2-3) later, nearly every scenario i had written down on that list became true. when i initially wrote them i didn’t think they were going to happen until like 2-3 years later, especially since my self concept BEFORE looked different. the fact that they arrived within just MONTHS without me even having to dwell on what i wrote is what fascinates me the most.

compared to the other pages i had written with the checkboxes, only a few things had been completed since then (getting my license, improving my mental/spiritual health, etc). obviously these other things i wrote with the checkboxes have manifested and the stuff that “hasn’t happened yet” WILL still happen. it was the difference of intention in which i wrote those lists.

i’m writing this post not just as a success story, but perhaps as some advice to those who enjoy scripting… write your desires like they have already come true, NOT like they are something that you will eventually experience/complete.

i also want to say this was before i got into manifesting and the law of assumption, proving that the law is ALWAYS WORKING. any method can work if you want it to, and there is no “better” method than the other. in this case, i didn’t even need to persist in what i assumed. i wrote down my desires ONCE on paper and they came true.
