HOOOOOOOOO BOY and that's a wrap!!!! Fun fact: this is actually my first ever properly finished comic. PLUS it was for a gift exchange! (The prompt was basically "what if Tenna met Addispam and gave him a job because he thought he was neat" and I RAN with it.) I think the time limit really helped me in getting this done. This was really fun to make overall and I may honestly do more with the concept in the future!!!

Reblogs in a chain now get their own notes
The reblog chain is one of the things that makes Tumblr unlike anywhere else. All the notes on reblogs are attributed to the original post, no matter which branch people actually liked or reblogged. We want to keep encouraging conversations, and give contributors the recognition they deserve.
Soon, you'll be able to like, reblog, or reply to any part of a reblog chain, and that note will go to that reblog's author. Each reblog will have its own counts, instead of one aggregated number from every version of the post. And yes, you’ll be able to like multiple posts in one chain.
If a reblog doesn't add anything, the love flows up to the last person in the chain who did. Your post doesn't lose notes just because people spread it quietly.
Past notes will stay on the original post — we're only changing what happens from here on out. Retroactively re-attributing all of them would be... a lot.
This is just the beginning. More changes are coming as we keep building this out – stay tuned!
Let's talk about reblog notes.
We rolled out a significant change to how notes work on reblogs, and the reaction has been strong. We're not going to pretend otherwise.
First things first: We're reversing the change. Your feedback in comments, emails, and especially reblogs, made clear that the rollout created problems we need to address before moving forward. We also should have communicated this differently from the start, and we didn't.
We still believe there's a better version of how reblogs can work. One that gives every voice in a chain the credit it deserves. But we want to get there with you.
In the coming days we'll share more on how we plan to do that, including ways to work directly with some of you on this and future changes before they ship.
Keep an eye on @staff for updates to come soon.

It’s very clear that you all have strong feelings about Tumblr and about this change. We hear you. The passion people have for how Tumblr works is one of the things that makes this place special.
As this rolls out over the next few days and you explore it, we’ll keep reading your replies and reblogs, so please keep sharing your questions, concerns, and ideas.
Your creativity has always been the heart of Tumblr, whether you’re the original poster or adding something brilliant in the reblogs, and nothing about this change is meant to limit that.
If you’d like to talk directly beyond the comments, leave a reply and we’ll follow up with as many of you as we can. We want to work with you to make Tumblr better.

This is horrible I can't see the number of notes on my posts at all without adding up everything in the chain
Cursed cursed cursed evil evil evil
This is a terrible idea. Horrible.
EXTREMELY BAD HOLY FUCK.
This would kill the entire point of the reblog chain. Staff, please, don't do this. It will transform the reblog chain in just plain twitter quotes.
Seriously, this is a tumblr-killer feature. This breaks the most fundamental way tumblr is different from any other social network. This makes tumblr just another blueskytwitterthreads. Or worse: An unfederated mastodon clone.
Please, stop this. Please, don't roll this out.
Please, mutuals, post about this, comment and reblog the original post (while you still can without making it your own quote-post). I don't know if staff is looking or if the feedback would matter, but seriously, this is a terrible change that would kill tumblr as we know it. Please, don't roll it out.
look, I can endure any kind of UI changes that are supposed to help tumblr-rookies to understand how this works. They may be a nuisance, but that's ok, we have x-kit or we can get used to buttons being here or there.
But this. This changes the data architecture. This changes the SINGLE THING that makes tumblr the "... yes and" website. This KILLS THE COLLABORATIVE POSTING THAT MAKES THIS SITE DIFFERENT FROM ALL THE OTHER MEDIA PLATFORMS.
Please, don't do this. Please, don't ship this.
Please for the love of god, TUMBLR, DO NOT DO THIS
This update will also have an INCREDIBLY negative impact on artists who have their art reblogged, but will no longer be able to see the reach they actually have gained with their art!!
We LOVE to see other people comment on our work, but with your new update THOSE REBLOGS WITH COMMENTS will be the one getting traction instead of the ORIGINAL ART POSTED.
PLEASE TUMBLR
PLEASE DO NOT ROLL THIS UPDATE OUT
Tumblr try not to ruin their own site challenge impossible??? Please don't roll this "update" out. Ever reason described before and after this reblog, this site will become that much more lonely and unbearable if this happens.
TUMBLR NO THIS KILLS THE FUN BOTH FROM THE POSTING SIDE AND FROM THE REBLOGING SIDE
It's fun to post and see the chains actively update and spread and seeing all the reactions, you know when someone reblog a post and tags a person and later they reblog reacting to your post and the tag? Dead, having a conversation in reblogs? Dead, seeing how many interactions a post got? DEAD
It wouldn't even be fun to reblog, the person you are rebloging from won't see your note nor the ones that happen from your reblog, I love complementing things I like in art or saying silly stuff and knowing the poster won't see it makes it the equivalent of thinking something and not saying it out loud, no more gushing over art alongside the previous reblog, no more knowing that people liked your art
This update will make Tumblr feel like a ghost town until it becomes one, please staff stop this
