so, not sure if this has been done before: but regardless, i need to get this out of my system so i can focus on my actual work. please lower your expectations if you have any positive ones

disclaimer: i am not a lore fanatic in either tadc or danganronpa and I haven't had a substantial thought about danganronpa since 2021. and this is more of a tadc -> danganronpa not danganronpa characters into tadc...also when doing character comparisons they are EXTREMELY basic

this is also probably going to be all over the place and hard to read too

Much like DRv3 & Goodbye Despair, this is a virtual killing game (for whatever reason, maybe for the same reason of Goodbye Despair)

basically the au would start out w/all members of the digital circus (including the abstracted) - instead of their appearances reflecting their personal issues/trauma like in tadc(?) it reflects their ultimate associated w/it or somehow correlates to it (personally idk how it would work but let's day the dog-looking abstracted character is the ultimate vet)

and like all of the Danganronpa games (except Despair Girls), we've gotta have the character that pisses everybody off and fucks up the trials:

Jax. Because he's also a purple lying piece of shit like Kokichi who was only entertaining for the first few frames (no hate to either fanbases) and now that i think about it, there's a character calling them out on their b.s (zooble and maki respectively)

gangle occasionally reminds me of mikan - mainly the timid/shameful voice. oh and they're always being bullied by somebody (does this mean jax gets to die by gangle's hands similar to how hiyoko died?)

im not entirely sure how the whole "klilling game" would work considering gooseworx has stated caine isn't intentionally malicious.

buttttttt, in the context of this au, we could just say he's been hacked by junko or whatever to condone and carry out the game (i think that's how it kinda happened in Goodbye Despair too w/monomi? not sure.) of course the executions are still as extravagant and confusing to look at, considering it's caine's programing to entertain

motives for killing would remain the same: keep others from finding out a secret (jax.), escape, etc...

body discovery could work the same, just make the pink blood glitching out (like pomni + ragatha were in the pilot) maybe make it black w/eyeballs like when people actually abstract in the show

to spice things up there could be a timelimit before the murdered actually abstract fully to pressure investigations to speed up how much evidence you can get before caine sends the 100% abstracted person to the cellar

and for the unknown/hidden ultimate plot device, that would probably fall to Kinger as a sort of hajime/izuru kind of situation. maybe he could even be the mastermind too, with queenie being the "suspected" mastermind? or have her be abstracted by caine on the spot (similar to how mukuro was killed by monokuma on the spot) as a show of force/maybe queenie knew that dying would get her out so she could get everybody else out idk

caine's adventures would still exist per usual, with most of the deaths occurring during them

class trials would happen in the tent ofc

it would be interesting for Abel to be written into this somehow, ofc with the same premise of him trying to "help" them escape - maybe he'd arrive with a motive "weed out and kill the mastermind if you want to escape" idk - maybe caine also wants the mastermind weeded out because it's preventing the person who hacked into him from doing nefarious things

for the true experience while writing this, i listened to hayloft, rhinestone eyes, and Danganronpa - Ultimate Mix (yeesh)
