Because that’s what’s going to happen if you and Falco don’t start thinking about the people you waltz in here. We’re a fire department. Not a half-way house, not an island of misfit toys, and we’re not out here for charity. If you want to lose more than we already have around here, fine. I think if you and Falco had paid a bit more attention to the red flags he was showing, we wouldn’t be in this situation. You think that sitting in a strip club night after night trying to cop a feel and get an eyeful of some girl’s perky little tits is becoming of a firefighter? The constantly hitting on lesbians, getting into public fights with women... you don’t think that was concerning at all? Maybe we shouldn’t let everyone who walks through the door have a place in this department. Some of these guys are a joke, Stone, and you know it. If Baleman hadn’t gotten himself arrested, he may have gotten someone killed because he was never cut out for this. And if you want to lie to yourself and say that he was just to make yourself feel better, go ahead. But you and I both know he never should have been here in the first place.

There’s a lot of things I want to discuss, Stone. Starting with how the hell you and the Chief let this him unchecked for god knows how long to make a mockery of the department. You two have the papers talking about the Docks. Is this what you want?

Part of keeping the department safe is being able to spot these things in advance, Ana. We failed. We didn’t keep the department safe. We can, and will, do better in the future.
