can we please talk about how fucked up Eren’s perception of Zeke must be like first he’s fifteen and Zeke is his main enemy, an all-around freak, a Marleyean monster who’s responsible for hundreds if not thousands if not millions of deaths and an active involvement in keeping Eren’s freedom away from him
Then he gets Grisha’s memories, years of Grisha using Zeke as a pawn in Liberio coupled with years of Grisha obsessing over the photograph in the secret basement and agonising over what he’s done to his boy and all of a sudden Zeke is this weak, timid, doomed little six year old.
And Eren himself describes the past, present and future as happening at the exact same time to him so Zeke is simultaneously a villian and a victim.
Zeke blabbers on about sterilising and thus killing his whole race in that mental hospital and Eren lies and says he’ll comply with the plan. Meanwhile eren’s looking at a tiny boy on the floor of his bedroom playing with the plush of the demonic creature he’ll shift into as a Titan and Grisha—>Eren thinks to himself “what have i done to my son” and Eren gets the ick so bad he nearly throws up

You know the Utgard Castle arc is so much fucking funnier the second time round because you get to realise that the horror on Reiner and bertoldts face isn't because they just saw a massive hairy titan, it's because they just saw their fucking boss come to do their mission for them because they took too long and now they're in deep shit.
If someone says that Zeke doesn’t care about anyone besides Eren again, I might lose it 😭
Zeke cares, but not on the same level that he cares about Eren because Zeke has this perception of Eren being his “manipulated, indoctrinated little brother” (and wasn’t able to see that until it was too late).
Zeke is desperate for love (familial), he wants someone to understand his pain (to an extent) + he keeps himself at arms length with everyone. It could be because of trust issues, issues with him not feeling understood, fear of rejection or he just has problems making connections and it could be all of the above.
- If Zeke didn’t care he wouldn’t have played catch with Colt.
- He wouldn’t have hesitated when Colt begged him to wait to scream.
- He wouldn’t have cared about Ksaver and their “dream”.
- He wouldn’t have cried when Grisha hugged and said he loved him.
His whole character is about caring in his weird way, he doesn’t want anyone else to suffer the way he did so he thinks that death is the only solution.
Been thinking of modern AU Yumihisu where Ymir is a thief and she meets single mom Historia when robbing her house (she thought it was empty, she has better criteria than stealing from single parents) and falls in love at first sight.
Historia was, obviously, terrified, but nothing bad happened then, in fact, Ymir even offers her to get her something for her and her daughter (who's named after Frieda don't fight me) since the house has so little things that it basically looks abandoned, but Historia rejects anything coming from her, as she can't be sure it isn't stolen as well, so then Ymir tells her that she will give her the receipts for whatever she gets for them.
And so a game begins.
Ymir starts getting Historia gifts, flowers, clothes, plushies for her daughter, always left with a letter and the receipt for it's purchase, and she isn't subtle at delivering them either, many times doing so at her workplace, where Historia's coworkers go crazy gushing about who was the pretty lady that seemingly managed to get through her barriers.
Historia isn't comfortable with this at first, but Ymir was always careful to not test any of the boundaries she set for her, so it actually works out somehow, building a really adorable relationship.
And this is as far as my brain goes, it would continue with each and every gift Ymir gives to Historia, and maybe those Historia gives in return, with the little girl being adorable in between.

Luckily he manages to build a small support system, his coworker, and one of his only friends, Pieck, who helps him to accept the situation with his dad and his neighbors, Mr Arlert and his grandson Armin, who share his love for books, and the Ackerman family, though mostly Kuchel, who absolutely adores him much to her son’s annoyance.
Eren gets a healthy family to grow up in, Zeke manages to work through his problems with his father and gets the family he always wanted, and they all are adorable all around.

So, I have a little AU in which Zeke still goes to Paradis with his parents, maybe he didn't snitch or it wasn't enough to protect him from punishment.
He barely survives as he is almost thrown down the wall before Kruger transforms and saves them both (this being influenced by Eren just like in the original series).
After Grisha gets the attack titan he hugs Zeke with such force he almost feels like he broke his back, apologizing non stop for hurting him so badly and being a bad father, and promising to make up for it now that they have a new chance at life, Zeke does not forgive him immediately, obviously, but he is happy that his father seems to want to make a real effort to improve.
They are found by Keith and taken inside of the walls without notifying the Military Police, keeping the same story about both of them not remembering anything besides their names, that they are father and son, and that Grisha is a doctor (I'm still amazed that they let him practice medicine without any proof, so I don't think someone would question any of them further about their relationship at the time).
The main focus of this story would come once Grisha meets Carla, like in the original, Kruger would tell Grisha about needing to start a new family inside of the walls, and once Carla came into the picture he starts to think of how they both could work, the problem starts with Zeke.
He does not like the idea that his father could have another family after everything that happened, he just saw his mother become a mindless man eating creature right in front of his eyes and still has terrible attachment issues with his dad, being barely able to leave his side due to the irrational fear he would leave him if as soon as he could find someone else (plus adding his thirteen year lifespan), so thinking of Grisha marrying and having a family with Carla scares him terribly.
And he can't even hate Carla, he wants to since he feels it would make everything easier, but it's impossible, that woman adores him with all her being and treats him even better than his own mother ever did, no matter how much he tries to misbehave or ignores her she still understand him and gives him all the space he needs to get used to this new dynamic.
The relationship between Carla and Grisha also changes, or at least how others see it, while the people in Shiganshina are grateful for everything that Grisha has done for them (saving them from an epidemic), they don't have the same opinion about his son, for them Zeke is a weird boy who refuses to talk to anyone he does not know well, it's gotten to the point that many parents warn their children to stay away from him. This has also extended to whispers about Grisha, about what did he do to make his son that weird, what could have happened to the boy's mother, and many similar things move around the mouths of the townspeople.
When Carla and Grisha finally announced their engagement, her friends and family advise her against it, they all talk about how whatever happened to the doctor's previous partner could also happen to her, how with the way his son behaves there must be something horrible hidden within the man. This she can sometimes understand, Carla herself has seen the horrors of the lives of women who married men who showed their true selves after marriage, but the thing is, that's not the most common concern.
What she hears the most, and the only thing that really seems to worry most people is that Grisha already has a child, and how she shouldn't waste her life raising a boy that isn't even hers, that it isn't her job to take care of him and she would be wasting her youth away by doing so, talking about Zeke as if he was an unwanted animal .
The first time someone brings that up, they do it in front of Zeke, he is used to this kind of situation from being bullied by the kids in town and listening to the people whispering behind his back anytime he decided to go out, yet this feels intentional, like this person wanted Zeke to hear all the bad things him and others thought about him, he was ready to just listen and let it go but the second the man started insulting Zeke Carla shut him up, screaming to the top of her lungs that if anyone dared to go after her child they would need to face her instead.
-"Now listen to me, you can talk about me, even talk about Grisha and I won't even mind, but the second you speak ill about my boy you will have to deal with me, You hear me?, I don't care if he isn't mine, I don't care if any of you think he is weird, the second I decided to marry Grisha I agreed to become his mother, now you can take your bullshit, shove it up your ass, and leave him alone!".
The man runs away as if he fears for his life he should, and Carla apologizes for her foul language, Zeke is completely silent, trying to find the right words to say, making her worry, in the end, and with tears coming out of his eyes, he asks:
-"You really want to be my mom?".
The full extent of her speech finally sets in for Carla and she fears that she made a mistake, even when she doesn't know the real story she understands that Zeke is not completely okay with his father forming a new family, so her declaring herself as his mother without asking him for his acceptance was a very risky move, trying to fix the situation she comes down to his level.
-"I would like to, my dear, no matter what you say of feel I'll always love you like you were my own, but this comes just to what you want, you have a right to decide if you want me to become such a big part of your life," Carla says while she wipes the tears off his face.
Zeke sniffles before speaking.
-"Then yes, I want you be my mom".
Carla lifts Zeke up in the air and hugs him (this woman worked as a server for years don't tell me she does not have crazy arm strength), peppering his cheeks and hair with kisses and messing up his hair, both laughing out loud without a care of what others may think.
-"So, what do you think about going to that donut shop you like to celebrate?," said Carla once she put him down.
-"Can I get those stuffed ones that dad says are bad for me?," Zeke's eyes shine at the possibility.
-"Honey, he doesn't have to know," Carla winked mischievously.

So this is it, i have no idea how to continue this, otherwise I would have already written a proper fic, but I just wanted Zeke to get the family he deserves.

There is an eremika fanclub in the afterlife, Zeke and Ymir fight for leadership until Armin comes along and (rightfully) takes control.
Erwin always pays attention to his soldiers and their needs, making an effort to meet them with the limited budget they have.
None of the warriors could handle spicy food, making it a problem in Paradis as they use it to hide the lack of salt in their meals.
Jean is the designated cook.
Annie can't handle alcohol.
Mikasa and Levi get together sometimes to drink tea, overtime they end up thinking of each other as family.
Armin asked Levi to cut his hair into an undercut.
Sasha has horrible spring allergies.
Reiner opened a center for abused children, Historia helped him with the funding.
Bertholdt was incredibly popular with girls outside of the military.
Eren hates all types of cooked or processed fruit (like jam or in desserts), except for one specific apple pie his mom made.
Falco started to write stories inspired on the lives of the members of the scouts, with permission of course, his favorite (and his most successful one) is the one inspired by Ymir and Historia's relationship.
Whenever Ymir's memories showed up, Porco would go and bother Reiner as much as he could, he never told anyone why.
Levi gave Nicollo the shovel talk when he started dating Sasha.
Both Levi and Hange have called the members of the squad as "their kids" on multiple occasions.
Eren stopped looking at himself in mirrors when he noticed he looked so much like his mother.
Reiner was probably the gay awakening for most of the kids in the 104th, he was at least two years older than most of them so it's like your friends older brother who you had a crush on who you saw once in a while but instead they had to share rooms (and showers) for years.
Many of the kids opened the doors to their rooms only to find the one Reiner Braun shirtless and asking how they are today and panic completely because what is happening? why is my heart racing? why is he so hot? noooo!!! .
Reiner giving some extra help to those who have some kind of problem in hand to hand combat and most of them end up pretending to do bad just for the possibility of him coming down and talking to them (and maybe touching them idk).
The first time in the shared showers ended up with most of them questioning their entire existence and failing not to stare, overtime the shower(s) next to him became one of the most wanted places for those who knew.
This probably made his later betrayal a little bit worse, just imagine Eren thinking like: do you have any idea how awkward it was to have to ask Armin what was happening to me after I saw you changing your clothes?, how Jean made fun of me for staring at your ass during practice?, fuck you, why did you have to be involved in this, how dare you being so attractive, I'm going to kill you and make it hurt a lot you motherfu-! .
Just Reiner being unaware of how much he influenced an entire generation of soldiers in figuring out their sexualities.

Zeke is probably the kind of brother who brags about anything Eren does no matter if he hates it, like, he cant stop himself from telling anyone who can listen about how his little brother is the best.
I feel that any if the situation was calm and everything, all of the warriors and any member of the marleyan military would have seen Eren's baby photos, and heard a few retellings of how he believed in the stork story for way too long.
Not to mention Eren's friends, Jean probably takes advantage of Zeke's enthusiasm to get any embarrassing information about Eren and makes fun of him relentlessly until Eren went to his mom and found out how Jean botched his haircut once and refused to get out of the house for a week after it.
