Kiiu-Lux

Seconds eyes fluttered open, he coughed as he slowly sat up. His eyes caught his surroundings, where was he? He sat on an old beat up sofa, the room smelled of mildew and must. The room was dimly lit. It looked lived in. Beside him was a reclining chair and a coffee table.

He immediately jumped when he heard footsteps, he reached for his tools he had brought, but they were gone. He started shaking, his breathes speeding up as he trembled.

Dark had just finished up in his lab, he had been testing those… weird tools the orange thing had on him. Speaking of the orange thing, it looked like it was awake.

He casually approached the orange one, “ah it seems your awake” he reached his hand out as he spoke, only for the orange stick to immediately cover his face with his hands, the stick was shaking and sobbing.

As much as dark wanted to pretend he didn’t care, it reminded him so much of… chosen. Hell, the stick even looked a lot like chosen. He remembered Chosen's nightmares, the flashbacks. He didn’t care for the orange stick, but something in him made him want to try to calm it down.

He slowly retracted his hand and crouched down. “Hey, calm yourself.” He spoke, his voice soft for once. The orange stick slowly lowered his own hands as he looked at Dark, his face was covered in tears and snot.

“What’s your name.” He mumbled, voice still gentle, as for some reason, he didn’t want to scare this kid.

“My name..?” The orange kid whispered. He had almost forgotten his name, he hadn’t heard it in so long. “The second coming.” He spoke through his sobs 

Dark paused at the name, ‘the second coming’ the second coming of what? His eyes gazed down to the sticks ankle, the chain around it, he remembered chosen spoke about how he had a ball and chain around his ankle. 

Maybe he should remove it from the kid.

“Want me to remove that.” He gestured towards the ball and chain with his hands.

second paused for a moment, before nodding. “Alright, let me see what I can do.” Dark mumbled as he grabbed at the thing. It looked like it would need to be sawed off. He had a hacksaw in his workshop. “I’m gonna go grab my hacksaw, you stay here.”

Dark stood up and went to his workshop to grab the saw.

Second would be lying if he said he wasn’t scared, he didn’t know what a “hacksaw” was, but it sounded scary, he didn’t fully trust the red stick yet. But then again, he was too scared to do anything about it, maybe the red one really was just trying to help?

As dark entered the workshop the floorboards below him began creaking, the building was one he built himself, so it was a little rough.

He began searching through the piles of items for his hacksaw. His workshop was messy, but he always knew where his most important items were. He eventually found it under an old sheet of metal. He grabbed it and a small container of oil before returning to the living room.

“Alright I got it.” He said to second, who was sitting on the sofa, hands still trembling. “Let me see that.” He murmured as he grabbed the thing that was around seconds ankle. He slowly pulled out the hacksaw and the oil. Slowly, he began cutting it off, careful not to cut the kid, while occasionally adding oil to it.

He quickly got it off of seconds ankle, the part under it looked very rough, it seemed swollen around the edges and very cut up from the metal, he remembered that’s how chosen’s looked too. 

“You want some ice for it?” He spoke softly to second. Second nodded. Dark slowly stood up to get it, placing the saw and the oil onto the coffee table.

He walked over to the kitchen, he had a large freezer in the corner of the kitchen, he stored a lot of things in there. He opened it up and began digging out an icepack for the kid, once he found it he took it in his hands. He paused, holding it in his hands for a moment. it was the one he had used for his bruises after his fight with chosen…

A small guilt turned in his stomach before he pushed it down and ignored it. He walked back over to second, throwing the icepack over to the kid, the icepack landed on second’s chest with a slight thud. The kid made an audible sound of pain.

“Oh quit that.” Dark hissed, he was starting to become upset, why did that kid look so much like chosen? He hated chosen, that traitor. He dropped himself into his reclining chair as anger bubbled in his chest.

He didn’t notice how his anger was scaring second, until he glanced over. The kid was frozen, his eyes locked onto dark with a look of terror. He paused, he tried to soften his expression. He looked back over to the ball and chain, no longer on second, but now just resting on the floor.

“I’ll get rid of that.” Dark stood up and grabbed it. It was heavy, but thanks to dark’s super strength it wasn’t bad. He couldn’t help but just think about that orange kid. The kid had clearly been hurt by Alan. He had the same chain chosen had.

He looked just like chosen, ‘the second coming.’ Was he… the second coming of chosen? He froze in the doorway to the workshop.

That would explain the resemblance to chosen. Was he also powerful too? If so he could be a good asset, afterall, with most of his virabots being destroyed by chosen in the fight, he could use a helping hand, and maybe someone to talk to.

He placed the ball and chain on the ground of the workshop before going back to the living room.

“Hey… second.” He spoke, voice soft so the kid wouldn’t get scared again. “Did I ever tell you my name?” Dark asked the kid, to which he shook his head. 

He approached the kid, crouching down next to him as not to be intimidating before reaching out his hand to be shook. “Well, you can call me dark.”

Second was hesitant to offer dark his hand, he never had a handshake before. Slowly he shook darks hand. “Does this mean we’re” second paused as he spoke. He remembered his past friends, how he got them killed… “friends?”

Dark paused and laughed slightly. ‘Friends’ what was he? A middle schooler? He was evil, he didn’t have friends, if anything he had ‘evil partners in crime.’ Friends sounded too ‘good’ for dark.

“Oh don’t push it, kid.” He said in a joking tone with a slight chuckle.

notes: Dark would never admit that he yearns for friendship, or that he cares about second, or chosen.

Second still remembers that day, the day he was first created, when everything started. He really loved drawing then, he had his own friends too. Then, that damned cursor came along.

He still remembered watching them die one by one, the fear on their faces, he hadn’t meant to get them killed! He just wanted to play. Part of him knows their deaths were all his fault.

Being forced to animate things for the cursor was not an ideal situation, he spent most his days drawing for it. It took the fun away from drawing for him, especially knowing they could come to life, and having to watch that damn thing kill them. 

He felt sick looking at his own hands sometimes. The heavy weight of the ball and chain forced onto his ankle was nothing compared to the guilt in his mind. Sometimes when not being used, he’d just stare at those disgusting hands, the hands of a murderer.

August 19th. 2018.

He functioned on autopilot most days, today he was drawing some weird walking flower thing, he didn’t care much about it though, it was just another task he had to do. He drew himself 2 other stick figures, some helpers. He watched as they drew for him, before their usefulness was no longer needed, and that thing, killed them. He knew it was all his own fault, he shouldn’t have made them in the first place.

He just stared as that thing hit play and watched the animation. It seemed to satisfy him, as second was then picked up by his chain and thrown away into his box. He just stared at the wall, a loud buzzing sound started, and it felt really hot… he couldn’t tell if it was just in his head or not.

Next thing he knew, the box was dissolving into red dust of code, and he was falling onto the ground. He immediately noticed the red spider, but he didn’t know what it even was, he had no concept of viruses. He just stared as the virabot lunged at him, frozen in place.

The thing then quickly grabbed the virabot, throwing it across the screen before quickly writing using the typing tool to communicate with second “DO SOMETHING.”

‘Do something,’ he was always doing something for that damned cursor, wasn't he? He couldn’t stand being here but he was scared of dying, maybe he could escape? Was that even possible? 

He had to try.

He quickly grabbed the pencil and the eraser. He begun rubbing the floor aggressively with the eraser, occasionally glancing over to the weird red thing and the cursor. He knew he didn’t have much time. He saw a weak point beginning to form, he gripped it with all his strength and pulled.

A scary, white portal opened, without thinking he jumped in. Almost immediately he began falling, he looked down, a large ocean was below him, he panicked, he knew his ball and chain would weight him down too much to swim, maybe he could draw something?

Quickly he drew a life vest and hoped for the best.

A loud splash was heard as he crashed into the water, he almost immediately began drowning, water filled his lungs, and his vision went dark.

Dark stared down at the stick he had found, he found the weird orange stick drowning, the guy had a ball and chain around his ankle, and a weird looking life vest on. The stick also had some weird tools, a pencil and an eraser, kind of like the tools he used in… Never mind.

He knew the stick was from Alan’s pc. Had he created another one of them? Interesting, maybe he could be useful. Dark decided from there that he would take him to his secret hideout.

After all, he was rather lonely.
