四月は君の嘘 - Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso
四月は君の嘘 (Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso)- Your Lie in April
## SPOILER VIDEO ##*Do not watch this video until you have completed the series or do not intend to watch the series and just need a simple summary.
As mentioned before, I’ve been an otaku for over 30years now and this anime I personally find so good that I not only rate it in my all time Top 10 list (just top 10 in no particular order), I even spent hours making this AMV (Anime Music Video) to pay homage to it.
So so so good!
But do note that this genre of anime I consider only for the very advanced Animanga otakus. Here’s a general breakdown of otaku level.
Basic = Watching stuff by the venerable Hayao Miyazaki
Intermediate = Watching/Reading Shonen Jump fare like One Piece, Naruto etc. People in the Intermediate stage need a solid dose of fantasy to be able to enjoy their Animanga.
Advanced = Being able to enjoy ALL types of Animanga, including slice-of-life ones. People in the advanced stage are able to accept Animanga dramas and do not need any dose of fantasy for them to be palatable.
That being said, it has been mentioned by Animanga critics that Music Animangas are rare and GOOD Music Animangas are rarer.
四月は君の嘘 (Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso)- Your Lie in April is a damn good Music Animanga.
Highly recommended if you are an advanced user. 四月は君の嘘 is best enjoyed over a pair of good headphones or good sound system, on a good flat screen TV while lounging in your comfortable soft couch or bed with the lights switched off and ALONE.
You want to be alone so that you can fully indulge in the maximum epic feels of this Anime without any distractions.
NooooOOOOOooooOOOOOooo
I’m like the biggest Yoona fan and in the past was a fan of Spice Girls also and having seen how the Spice Girls broke up, something like this happening to SNSD can only mean more dire things to happen in the near future :(
Gender equality in Otaku-dom!
If the boys can have their maid cafes, the girls will have their butler cafes. If the boys can have their moe, the girls will have their kabedon... and more Excerpt of that dating sim for women looks nice and hilarious (to me) tho hehehe
The Japanese Firm Selling Videogames to Women, Using Sex
By Daniel Feit
09.24.14 Source: WIRED (http://www.wired.com/2014/09/love-sex-tokyo-game-show/)
At Tokyo Game Show, female attendees lined up to experience kabedon---a situation popular in romance comics in which a man pins a woman against a wall (kabe) with a thud (don!). Ko Sasaki/WIRED
CHIBA, Japan — Miho, an office worker from Tokyo, is backed against a wall. Two men in suits approach her. “Do I frighten you?” one asks. Quite suddenly, one of them extends his arm. It hits the wall with a thud. Miho is trapped as he leans toward her…
This aggressive move, popular with fictional Japanese tough guys, is called kabedon—”wall-thump.” If a stranger were to corner her like this on the street outside the Makuhari Messe convention center, Miho might have been afraid for her life. Here inside the Tokyo Game Show, it’s all part of the show. In fact, she waited in line to experience being so aggressively hit on.
“It’s very exciting,” she said afterward. Her coworker Ayaka agreed: “They say such sweet things.”
The two women told me they’ve never before attended Tokyo Game Show, but they came this year specifically because they play dating sim videogames made by Voltage, which hosted this interactive fantasy. Voltage was but one of the game publishers showing their games in the Romance Game Corner, a section dedicated to dating simulation games aimed at women.
Dating sims are among the few game genres in Japan designed for, and actively marketed to, women. Last year’s inaugural Romance Game Corner was a small booth on the periphery of Japan’s big gaming convention. This year, it was front and center in the main hall. The exhibitors capitalized on this by packing their booths with eye-grabbing attractions featuring attractive male models.
The romantic fantasies playing out in the Romance Game Corner certainly used sex to sell products, but in sharp contrast to how videogame conventions usually use sex appeal. Every other booth at Tokyo Game Show featured a phalanx of women serving only as eye candy for the men. The Romance Game Corner was sexy but not lewd, and everything fit the context of the games being advertised.
Promotional still from Class Trip Crush, a Voltage dating sim game released in English on iOS. Voltage, Inc.
The games were barely present—many are free-to-play smartphone apps already available, so few people had any need to wait in line to play them. The publishers focused instead on recreating the fantasy within their games.
Voltage’s booth offered a different scenario in each corner. Not only did each “interact with a hot guy” situation have its own stable of male models, but visitors could vote for their favorite hunk in a booth-wide election. Talk-show stage events were held with popular television actors, who read romantic lines submitted by fans through Voltage’s website.
“A lot of the reactions are hands over the face, unable to speak, laughing to themselves.”
Besides the kabedon booth, other women waited for a more exotic fantasy: Meeting a blond American in New York.
To promote an app tied to the TV show Gossip Girl, Voltage had handsome men sitting on a couch to chat up women visiting the booth, which featured pink lights, a veil of crystals and a disco ball.
“We’re basically hitting on them, without being too forward,” said Kyle Card, an actor and model who lives in Tokyo. “A lot of the reactions are hands over the face, unable to speak, laughing to themselves. Lots of silence.”
Not all the visitors are so shy, he says. “There’s the odd girl who’s been surprising to us, with deep eye gazing and coming right back with the compliments.”
“I think I want to play this game now,” Tomomi, a programmer from Chiba who attends the Tokyo Game Show every year, said after her encounter on the couch.
“Just leave everything to me.”
For a completely different fantasy, game publisher Sunsoft had a booth with a bed to promote Gokumen, a game where all the male characters actually are women. The booth was staffed with women dressed in suits.
The Gokumen experience was considerably more hands-on than the Voltage scenarios. Visitors would sit down with a model for a quick chat, which would end with the model pushing them down by the shoulders, flat onto the bed.
“Do you love me?” the women would whisper into their ears. “Just leave everything to me.”
A representative from Voltage said that the company has established a branch in the US and is localizing its Japanese apps into English, as well as developing games specifically aimed at American women.
Would kabedon play outside Japan? I met one Brazilian student named Luane who seemed thrilled by the experience. I asked her what the actor said to her as she was pinned against the wall.
“I don’t know, he spoke in Japanese,” she said. “But he is beautiful.”

Anime Mascots of countries in the World Cup!
By: Fran Wrigley for RocketNews24
Here at RocketNews24 we believe there are few things that can’t be improved with a sprinkling of anime style – even sports mascots. So we were thrilled to learn that one mystery artist has created unofficial anime mascots for all 32 World Cup teams. If you like your football with a side helping of cute and quirky cartoon girls, you’ve come to the right place!
Join us after the jump for a host of new anime characters dressed as superheros, animals and more – all in their team colours, of course.
▼ Let’s kick off with the host country, which is showing a nice use of the “absolute territory” ad space.
▼ Costa Rica’s mascot looks a little dangerous.
▼ An all-American hero?
▼ Cameroon’s team are nicknamed ‘Les Lions Indomptables’ (The Indomitable Lions). Although this lion looks pretty domitable, to be honest.
▼ Keeping it simple for the Samurai Blue. Is it better than Pikachu, though?
▼ Oppa soccer style.
▼ The joey is the pouch is a nice touch.
▼ Far and away this writer’s favourite. Check out that cheese hat! WHERE CAN I BUY A CHEESE HAT?
▼Ivory Coast…Ivory… See what they did there?
▼ Well, this is awkward.
▼ Maybe she’s just caught sight of Luis Suarez?
▼ Are those bandages…?
▼ Looking pretty super with that eagle.
▼ Annnnnnddddddd things just got awkward again.
▼ …And again with this Crusader kit. Also, what’s with the dead cat?
▼ Back in cute-land. Yayyy!
▼ The French Revolution: sponsored by Nike.
Any of those take your fancy, footie fans?

Uruguay midfielder harnesses the power of DBZ to protect his shins
Anime News Network
While the soccer-watching world has been keeping an eye on Uruguay forward Luis Suárez, whose hunger for victory has earned him a nine match, four month suspension, teammate Walter Gargano has been dazzling the otakusphere in other ways. Namely, the proud display of his Dragon Ball Z shinguards.
Midfielder Gargano posted a photo to his Instagram account two days ago, prompting a flurry of excited reactions to his equipment choice.

Unboxing: Bandai Soul of Chogokin Space Battleship Yamato 2199
I ordered this item back in Sept 2013 and after many months, I collected it last weekend from my local hobby shop. It's finally here! Yay! ^_^
Here's the unboxing of my ¥26'000 yen Space Battleship Yamato 2199.
Have to be extra careful and use only my true original Swiss Army Knife which is really from Switzerland when I went for holiday there hehe
This didn't have as many loose parts as my other Bandai Chogokin ship, the Going Merry from One Piece.
VOILA! Done! ^_^ ... and now to the videos I very casually took using my mobile phone (pls excuse the quality) to demo the damn cool special features of this unprecedented Bandai Chogokin model. This is the first and currently only Bandai Chogokin model to have such special features!

Review of Girls' Generation 소녀시대_'Mr.Mr.'_Music Video by: John Goh
First, let's establish the fact that I'm a...
... so I am by no means a critic. I am in fact a term I invented "appreciatic" :) I love SNSD. I'm a veteran of 3 concerts where they performed live with the highlight of my life being the one I attended in Hong Kong where I sat at the FRONT row with Sooyoung and Yuri's parents. I have also attended one of their press cons.
Now on with the review... Review
Not bad, the song is nice but I really thought the operating theatre montage was unnecessary.
This song is supposed to be directed at all SNSD's male fans... like me :) But I can tell you that we are not interested in edgy. Edgy MVs are usually appreciated by girls. (A good example is I Got a Boy) That's one of the reasons why groups that are edgy like 2NE1 are winning over female SNSD fans who have "grown out" of SNSD.
I'm not saying that SNSD shouldn't at times be edgy... but at least not for this MV that wants to make fanboys like me have heart palpitations.
They could have done something simple and what I consider sexy enough to give me heart palpitations without breaking South Korea's strict skin rules like what f(x) did with rum pum pum pum
Conclusion So in conclusion I give this MV 6.5/10 and the song 8/10. I like this song better than I got a Boy and Time Machine but the operating theatre theatrics lost points for me there. My ultimate favourite and 11/10 golden benchmark for now is still Galaxy Supernova, of which I can watch/listen on repeat non-stop for many hours. I think I can do the dance moves too! But only at gunpoint haha ^_^
Anime & Manga Archetypes (part-1): Tsundere ツンデレ -by: John Goh
It was around 1983 when I received my first Jump Comic (Kinnikuman (キン肉マン). It was a gift from my then best friend Takeshi. That kickstarted my love affair with Animanga (Anime & Manga) and I even chose to study it in University. Now more than 30yrs later, that love is still strong and has grown exponentially. Yes, I am an Otaku and proud to be one ^_^ Fortunately, my strong hentai ecchi nature prevented me from becoming a hikikomori and I'm happily married to a very understanding wife and have a kawaii young daughter haha ^_~
Tsundere ツンデレ
There are a few articles and explanations on the net but I wanted to give my take on a few of the Animanga character archetypes also. I'll start first with Tsundere, which is the first archetype to jump from being just a casual description to lexicon.
"Tsundere (ツンデレ?, pronounced [tsɯndeɽe]) is a Japanese character development process that describes a person who is initially cold and even hostile towards another person before gradually showing his or her warm side over time. The word is derived from the terms tsun tsun (ツンツン?), meaning to turn away in disgust, and dere dere (デレデレ?) meaning to become 'lovey dovey'." - Wikipedia
One of the first characters that people described as Tsundere was Lum Invader from a 1980s manga Urusei Yatsura (うる星やつら). Which incidentally could be one of the very first characters to drive boys to become Otaku ^_^
The Tsundere archetype evolved further to it's final form in the mid-90s anime Neon Genesis Evangelion's Asuka Langly. When Otakus are asked to describe what a Tsundere is, Asuka is most often given as an example and rightly so as can be glimpsed from the first min of the youtube clip below.
A character (not restricted solely to females) is Tsundere when she is rude, almost always angry, full of sarcasm and sometimes even violent. This is the "Tsun tsun" side, usually around 70% of the time. But there will be moments 30% of the time when we see that she has a much softer side inside, the "dere dere". It is in these short "dere dere" moments that otaku fall in love with Tsundere characters and it is this duality that has made Tsundere characters a very popular archetype, propelling it from mere description to a popular lexicon in Animanga.
Here is a very good clip from To Aru Majutsu no Index with Mikoto Misaka perfectly depicting the exact Tsundere duality moment.
Here is another clip of a recent anime called The "Hentai" Prince and the Stony Cat. (変態王子と笑わない猫。 Hentai Ōuji to Warawanai Neko.) showing a montage of the "dere dere" side of Azusa Azuki, one of the Tsundere characters.
As always kotaku.com has wonderful articles especially from Richard Eisenbeis on Animanga. Here is a quote from a similar archetype article that perfectly describes a Tsundere... "If a character ever utters the phrase “it's not that I like you or anything,” he or she is pretty much guaranteed to be a tsundere." - Eisenbeis (http://kotaku.com/how-to-identify-popular-japanese-character-types-1169085239)
Conclusion
The reason why I started this article with Tsundere is because from Tsundere, more casual description turned lexicon words appeared in Animanga vocabulary; Kuudere, Yandere, Dandere and more recent inclusions of Himedere and Thugdere, all of which I will touch on in the continuing parts of this article.
