“really?” noah peered in closer at the darkened shape. “weird looking motif. not very appealing.” 

                     danny almost took offense. almost. it was one of moments when all he could think of was  ❛EAT THE RICH ❜ but hey, taking their money would nice too. ❝ thank god you can’t stare at a personality , oh boy , i wouldn’t take yours even if you offered, ❞ he spoke, his tone playing between harshness and jest.  ❝ but fine, i’m not above a little charity, especially one that make people feel better about themselves. is that a dolce & gabbana jacket you’re wearing ? i’ll take it — thanks. ❞

“that one wasn’t on offer, but i’m truly devastated you’re not interested in it; really.” hayden barks a laugh, dry and sharp, at the not-entirely unexpected audacity. he starts to shrug the jacket off as if he might actually hand it over, only to slip it swiftly back on. “was thinking more something new rather than the one on my back, but it’s fine. i understand the automatically default to secondhand.”

“ NO , no , i definitely wasn’t staring , i promise. i get … spaced out sometimes ? and maybe a little distracted by food , i swear i’m not trying to steal your pastry. i can get my own. ”

          “  excuse  me  ?!  i  don’t  need  anyone’s  charity  ,  i  can  pay  for  it  myself .  thanks  but  no  thanks.  i’m  not  about  to  make  a  decision  on  the  whim  just  because  you  feel  like  you  should  butt  in  or  feel  sad  for  me.  ”

“i’m staring at you because your sweater has a stain on it.” 

“i — what?” eden snapped out of her zone as she heard someone speak up directly at her. picking the ultimate breakfast muffin was hard, alright? “why would i ask you for that?”

he’s sat at a table close to the stage with other young entrepreneurs and heirs, some of which he’s quite amicable with and some of which he simply takes a sip of wine while rolling his eyes at every word they attempt to speak toward him. he doesn’t mind the table at all, and he likes to be in this particular spot so that he doesn’t have to walk far, yet all the photographers have plenty of time to get several good shots of him as he walks up to give his speech when he’s inevitably named as one of the top benefactors of the evening. everything is fine, up until he shows up.

jude’s glare is sharp enough to cut glass. everyone at the table looks tense, as if sensing the energy radiating off him the moment bang yujin sits down in the seat jude hadn’t previously noticed bearing a card with his name on it. “they really should learn to tell the difference between a grandfather and his grandson,” he utters in the most seemingly polite and idle tone, looking nowhere in particular as if addressing the whole table, “to avoid such inappropriate seating mishaps.”
