It was an old habit of him. The way he would snuck inside her room as he lie down beside the love of his life, memorizing every features that compliment her face. He would even whisper things that only they could know. However, that was beforeâ before things changed.
Once a happy memory filled with love just turned into something dark the moment she walked away from him. How could a person be so cruel to make him believe that she loved him genuinely when all of it was a lie? The person he truly loved was the same person who shattered his heart into million pieces.
Asher nodded slowly as his ocean blue hues were still locked on the screen, avoiding any eye contact to his former significant other. Because if he does, all the feelings he buried at the back of his heart would resurface again, completely destroying his hard work. As her fingers brushed his forehead, another electrifying feeling run through his body.
His hand slowly searched for hers, pulling her to lie down next to him. âJust a bit before lacrosse training.â Eyes were still locked on Evie with his arms embracing her, pressing his lips on the forehead like the way he did before. âCan we just stay like this for a moment? Like how you always do whenever Iâm sick?â
Evie pondered for a moment, it wouldnât have been a good idea. He had a girlfriend didnât he? But maybe it wasnât the time to ask. If she could steal a moment or two from him, she would. Evie nods and wraps her arm across his chest, resting her head on his shoulder. It felt like old times.Â
âDo you miss moments like this?â She asked, eyes glued to the television. Evie tore her gaze away and allowed her to look back at who she once called mine. âMiss old times with me?â
âAnd before you ask...â Her heart pounding in her chest as tears formed in her brown orbs. âI do. I know itâs not my place to. I know that I shouldâve done things so differently but... I didnât. And I guess I just wanted to know if you missed me the same way I do.â
