Quote from Lumos by @protectgeorgeweasley !
âChristmas was coming. One morning in mid-December, Hogwarts woke to find itself covered in several feet of snow.â
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
Chapters: 18/? Fandom: Harry Potter - J. K. Rowling Rating: Not Rated Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Relationships: Hermione Granger/George Weasley, Angelina Johnson/Fred Weasley Characters: George Weasley, Hermione Granger, Fred Weasley, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry Additional Tags: Hurt/Comfort, Fluff and Angst, Fix-It, Mutual Pining, Slow Burn, Protect George Weasley, Fred Weasley Lives, Harry and Hermione are still close friends, POV George Weasley, POV Hermione Granger, Wizarding Culture (Harry Potter), George Weasley takes his job of supporting Hermioneâs goals very seriously, Amnesia, Post-War, Wizarding Wars (Harry Potter) Summary:
A âstrayâ obliviate from a dissenting blood purist hits Hermione as sheâs debating on the Wizengamot floor for House Elf rights. As a result, she loses the last 5 years of her life. Her most recent memory is Fred coming back to life in the Battle of Hogwarts. She doesnât remember marrying or falling in love with her husband. In fact, when the healer asks her if sheâd like to see her husband, she thought Ron would walk through the door. Instead, it was George.
This story follows two, parallel timelines. In the first, Hermione struggles to find her place a world built by a different version of herself. In the other, George traverses before, during, and after the Wizarding War, finding himself more and more drawn to the most dedicated witch he knows. Too bad sheâs in love with his brother.
âArresto Momentumâ is posted!
If anyone needs the best George and Hermione fic - check this out, it officially has my heart â¤ď¸
George walked into the living room of The Burrow to see Hermione wrapped in a blanket on the sofa. Her knees up under her chin as she played with the frayed end of the throw.
The Christmas tree sparkled in the corner, a plate of half eaten mince pies sat on the coffee table.
The floorboard creaked under his foot, making her look up and see him there, a smile immediately lighting up her face.
âHere.â George passed her a cup of tea, watching as the steam rose up.
âThere you are! I was beginning to think youâd fallen asleep at the table.â She chuckled, opening up the blanket so he could scooch in underneath next to her.
He smiled, shaking his head and holding his hand out. âLetâs go outside.â
Hermioneâs eyes widened and she furrowed her brow. âGeorge, itâs freezing out there. Iâm pretty sure it was snowing earlier.â
âHumour me. Please?â Georgeâs eyes met hers and his heart skipped. As usual.
She huffed, standing up and wrapping the orange throw around her body. âFine. But this is coming with me. I donât want to catch a cold so close to Christmas.â
âYouâll be fine, come on.â He moved to wrap his arm around her shoulders to guide her out the garden door.
There was a light sprinkling of snow on the ground which crunched under their feet.
They walked towards the large tree by the pond in comfortable silence, Georgeâs fingers playing with the ends of her hair. They found their familiar seat at the bottom of the trunk and Hermione opened up the blanket to let him come inside it with her.
George slid closer to her side and wrapped the blanket around his shoulders, his arm snaking around her waist as she took a sip of her tea.
âI love winter.â He murmured, staring out at the water and the fireflies dancing on the surface.
Hermione shivered beside him. âI think Iâd take summer right now. Why did you want to come and sit out here?â
George paused, his heart picking up pace. âI have something for you.â Hermioneâs eyebrows rose. âAn early Christmas present if you will.â
Hermione tucked her head closer to his, butting his shoulder. âYouâre full of surprises tonight.â
George smiled lightly, shifting in his seat to look at her properly. âDo you remember what happened here 2 years ago?â
âI was sat here watching the fireflies and you came out with a cup of tea and sat with me. You told me you loved me and then you- then you kissed me.â Hermione smiled shyly, blushing slightly at the memory. âI donât think Iâll ever forget that night.â
George reached into his pocket, pulling out a small, wrapped box. âOpen it.â He passed it to her and she handed him her tea to hold as she fiddled with the wrapping paper.
When she opened it up, she gasped, her hand flying to her mouth. âGeorge, itâs-itâs...â
âHermione, I promise to keep kissing you unexpectedly. I promise to love you every single day for the rest of our lives, even when you donât want me to. I promise to bring you a cup of tea every day.â Hermione laughed, tears pricking at her eyes. âI promise to dance with you when youâre sad. I promise you the world, love. Whatever you want, Iâll get it for you.â
âGeorge, I-â
âWill you marry-â his sentence was cut off as her lips met his in a sweet, tender kiss.
George pulled away. âYou didnât let me fin-â
âYes! Yes Iâll marry you George.â She exclaimed, before meeting his lips again.

Best of Fred and George Weasley
Begin Again - George Weasley and Hermione Granger
George shoved his hands deeper into his pockets, trying to stave off the shaking as much as possible. He had no idea why he was so nervous, but his heart jumped at the movement of the plaid curtain in the window. He swallowed, his mouth dry from his nerves.
âIâll be there in a second.â Her voice called from within in the house at the end of the street. He hadnât needed to knock so she must have been waiting for him. This thought eased his heart a little more, the nerves dying slightly in his stomach.Â
George hummed in response, rocking on his feet as he waited for the door in front of him to be pulled open. His gaze wandered down to his shoes, looking at the scuff marks in the brown leather at the toes and the frayed end of the right shoe lace. He was embarrassed that this was the best he had. He hoped she wouldnât mind.
Light suddenly hit his face and he looked up to see her stood in the doorway, a smile nervously playing on her lips as she took him in.
âHey.â She said quietly, her voice just loud enough to cut the night air. She was dressed in a simple black dress that fell just above the knee. Her hair was teased into tighter curls than normal and she had kept her makeup the same as normal but with the addition of a nude lipstick he hadnât seen her wear before. She looked amazing.
George swallowed again. âWow. You look- I mean- wow.â He silently cursed himself in his head. He was normally so confident and cool around her. This was not him.
She laughed, throwing her head back and her curls danced around her shoulders. âThanks George. Are you ready?â
He nodded, pulling his hand from his pocket to offer her his arm. She took it, wrapping her hand around his bicep and coming in close to his side. He hoped to Merlin that she wouldnât feel how fast his heart was beating.Â
They started walking and George rooted around in his head for something to say but nothing came to him. He felt starstruck with her finally on his arm. He had waited a long time for this moment and now it was here he felt helpless.Â
âYou seem nervous.â She commented, squeezing her hand on his arm for comfort. âWhy? Itâs just me.â
George glanced down at her and she was smiling softly up at him. He chuckled, placing his other hand on hers. âIt was never âjustâ you Hermione.â

tbh the most unrealistic thing in harry potter is when mrs weasley in the first book asks ânow whatâs the platform number?â
like this woman has been going to that school for seven years and then dropped kids off on the same place for nearly ten like why on earth would she forget the platform number
I still have the headcanon that Molly BAMF Weasley saw a scrawny underfed child with an owl who had no idea where he was going and looked lost and confused and was like, âAh, yep, new son.â but didnât want to scare him by outright approaching and asking if he needed help so she was just like, âMUGGLES, MUGGLES EVERYWHERE! DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT THE PLATFORM NUMBER TO WIZARD SCHOOL IS? WHATâS THAT? NINE AND THREE QUARTERS? OH, YES, THATâS RIGHT. THE PLATFORM NUMBER IS   N I N E  A N D  T H R E E   Q U A R T E R S!â
Of course seeing as how Harry isnât the most observant bloke, she probably ushered her kids past him fifty times as different ones screamed the platform number until they finally got his attention.
With that being said, and Iâm extremely sorry for taking over your post:
11:45:
They had just enough time to make it onto the platform, get their trunks loaded, and say their goodbyes. Molly ushered them all along, wishing that she could just Apparate them all onto the train and be done with it. There was too much to do, too much to say, too mâ
All at once, she screeched to a halt. Percy crashed into her, causing the twins to snicker.
A tiny boy was being crossly turned away by a security guard. A boy whose ribs poked through his baggy shirt, whose glasses were broken, whose jaw was trembling as he tried to find his way. Well, surely she could be the person to guide him there? And did he Yes! He had an owl! He was one of them!
The poor child; he looked so lost.
Where were his parents?
Never mind, never mind. She would see to it that he would get on the train. But she had to be careful. She couldnât startle him. Heâd run off and that would be the end of it. No, no, they had to be crafty.
11:47 AM:
âPacked with Muggles of course,â Molly said loudly, ushering her very confused children past the boy. âWhatâs the platform number again?â
âNine and three quarters,â Percy said. âMother, how could you have forgâ?â
It was George who nudged him as he understood what she was doing. She had done it before, after all, and she would do it again.
Unfortunately, it didnât work.
The boy didnât seem to notice them.
11:48 AM:
âPacked with Muggles of course,â said Molly again, marching her children past once more. âWhatâs the platform number?â
âNine and three quarters,â Fred and George screamed in unison.
And still the boy remained lost.
11:49 AM:
âMum,â Ron panted, tripping over himself as he ran to keep up with her. âSlow down!â
Molly ignored him as she practically flew past the poor boy. âPacked with Muggles of course! Now, whatâs the platform number?â
âNine and three quarters,â Ron bellowed.
11:50 AM:
Molly honestly didnât care if her entire family missed the train and she had to set off across the UK herself like a mother leading a flock of ducklings: she was going to help this boy onto the bloody train.
She marched past him with a fiery determination and said, âPacked with Muggles of course!â
The boy looked up.
Yes! Okay, this was it, this was it, this was it. Play it cool. He was following them. Listening. Pretending not to.
They stopped.
âNow,â Molly said. âWhatâs the platform number?â
âNine and three quarters,â piped Ginny.
Victory!
The next nine minutes were a whirlwind of chaos but they managed to get the boy through the barrier. At Mollyâs insistence, Fred and George popped up and helped him get his trunk into the compartment. She handed Ron an extra sandwich and muttered, âTell him that everywhere else was full.â
He dutifully nodded.
As the train took off, she waved to her children, including her newest one.
Bristling with pride, she began to head back to the Burrow. There was simply no time to waste. She had a jumper to knit.
If I ever donât reblog this post - assume Iâm dead
I love that Harry only notices the time that Ginny called out the platform numberâŚđ

I donât do happy writing for some reason, whenever I try to write something happy this happens...anyways I hope itâs not totally awful....
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hermione was angrier than she had ever been in her life. Her face was red and she could feel her hands shaking as she watched George begin to walk away from her.Â
âYou donât get to do that George. You donât get to walk away from me like I donât exist. Like I donât even matter.â Hermione shouted, starting to run after him, her short legs unable to keep up. âI matter George.â
It was raining outside The Burrow, the ground soggy beneath their shoes and the wind whistling through the trees. The Weasleys watched from the window as the two of them argued in the front garden, an uncomfortable air forming around the home.
George didnât look back, he continued walking trying to clear his head long enough to apparate out of there. He wasnât an angry person, but Merlin he was so disappointed and upset with her. He didnât imagine that she would ever hurt him like this, she knew how to push his buttons for sure but she always knew when to stop. She knew this would hurt more than anything.
âWill you just-for Merlinâs sake George, will you just bloody stop!â Hermione yelled. âThis is completely-â
âWhat do you want me to say Hermione?â George halted, so quickly Hermione almost ran into his chest. âItâs fine, itâs okay that you keep hurting me like this? I deserve better than to be treated like shit.â
Hermione started to speak but George continued. âYou donât get to tell me what to do anymore Hermione, you donât get to do that.â He echoed her previous words. âI gave you everything. I loved you unconditionally, I would have followed you to the end of the earth if you had asked me. But thisâŚI didnât deserve this.â
Hermione felt her heart drop to her stomach. She hadnât intended for it to get so out of hand. She was just messing around with Harry and Ron, seeing if she could get a rise out of him.Â
She had been annoyed at George, having walked into the shop the previous day to a pretty young witch flirting with him, touching his arm and fluttering her eyelashes at him. George hadnât shut her down, instead laughing along with her. Hermione had been jealous and George hadnât even noticed that it had bugged her.Â
It was stupid, she knew that. But she had wanted him to feel that way too, to understand why she was upset he hadnât shut it down. It had just got out of hand.
âI didnât mean for it to go that far George.â She whispered, casting her eyes to the ground. âI was just trying to-Merlin knows what I was trying to do.â
George scoffed, starting to walk away again. He didnât want to stand and listen to her excuses in the rain. He had heard enough excuses for today.Â
âPlease George, please just stop.â Hermione whispered from her spot, rooted on the ground. Her eyes welled with tears as she watched him continue to walk away. âHe means nothing to-â
âYes it but it means something to me Hermione!â George shouted, spinning back around to face her, throwing his arms in the air. âWhy canât you see that?! It doesnât matter what it means to you, it matters what it means to me. What did you think I would think? Thatâd Iâd be okay to walk in on you messing around with Ron? Heâs my brother Hermione. Fuck, heâs your ex boyfriend.â
âGeorge, I-â
âNo, just fucking leave me alone. I donât want to see you, just leave me alone.âÂ
And with a crack, he was gone.
âScrew the musical.â
