Legal experts say employers must take AI-related religious objections seriously, as a 2023 ruling raised the bar for denying such accommodat
"The funniest possible outcome of the AI mandate era is about to be HR departments discovering that 'sincerely held religious belief' under Title VII has a much lower bar than they assumed, and Pope Leo handed every Catholic employee a written excuse," wrote Corey Quinn, a software-startup founder in San Francisco, on X.
Employers could wind up in court if they outright dismiss workers who request a faith-based exemption from using AI, said Ashley Herd, a former McKinsey counsel and head of North American HR who now advises managers and employers on workplace issues.
"Playing priest, and telling employees their request isn't legitimate, does not tend to bode well for companies," said Herd, also a cohost of the "HR Besties" podcast. "A jury doesn't like it when employees get made fun of by managers or HR."
This is Hilarious.
I mean... whatever works, I guess!
given the current climate this pride especially i feel i must mention that i love my trans friends, i stand with trans people in the fight against transphobic legislation and those who would enforce it, and this blog is not a good place for you to be if you do not vibe with that
happy pride
I've seen this clip many times, but never really appreciated the power of "what was her problem?" Just casually assuming that lesbians come in a wide variety of shapes and being inclusive. As a transbian who is probably still closer to Homer shaped than to my ideal, that's huge!
awww the like button turns into a rainbow when you press it! that's so cute...hey staff what's with all the trans women you keep nuking?
i think we should be ridiculing them more for this. you don't get to try and go all "queer website" when your staff likes to go on nuking sprees targeting the trans fem users
would be remiss not to mention that the rainbow notably straight up just removed the trans flag colors from it. like theyāre gone. itās the progress flag minus the trans flag colors.
thatās not the whole flag, now is it
hey staff what the fuck
hey staff don't you think you're being too on-the-nose
HEY STAFF DONT YOU THINK YOU'RE BEING TOO ON-THE-NOSE

Isn't Superman "Truth Justice and the American Way"? I don't see the issue with Dr Who representing Britain positively in a similar manner.
Superman: Promotes America's stated values
America:
Also two of these really sucked despite that.
Let it go dude. You're not going to change my mind on Dr Who. Even if you had an argument to make, I am not going to reward this behavior on principle.
This is extra funny because Superman changed from "the American way" to "a better tomorrow" 20 years ago and gave up his American citizenship 30 years ago.
from a scale of 1 to 10 how racist do you think femboy libertarian is and why is it almost certainly 10
Analyzing the politics of a work that's meant to be apolitical is actually a really interesting exercise because it asks you to critically examine what the creator considers to be "political" in the first place. Which ideas are just How Things Are, and which ones are Political, and how is that influenced by the creator's beliefs?
Usually this just ends up with you looking like a moron btw
Angrily lashing out at the suggestion that it's possible to do basic media analysis was foundational to the ragebait ecosystem of the 2010s, from which we got basically the entire culture of modern far right politics, btw.
I genuinely believe myself and others are being so sincere and literal when we say TOUCH GRASS
I went outside and got an education, that's where I learned that you can obtain knowledge and insight through analytical methods, then noticed that some people who sit on the internet yelling at strangers get really mad about that constantly.
So actually if you really wanted to use your analysis skills you'd realize that what people are annoyed about is the implication that there's never a story or creative work they can create that can escape people like you attempting to assign political meaning to it when they just don't want that. That in fact people's presumptions about life are not, in fact, political (at best they are cultural, which is not an inherently facet of politics). And that by you people arrogantly pushing this idea you are intruding on the fact that a lot of people use fiction as escapism from politics and insisting that "urm no actually your favourite cartoon actually has politics cause no human being is 100% unbiased" is in fact, supremely fucking annoying
"Stop having fun wrong, it ruins my fun when you have fun wrong, it's not enough for me to just scroll past the analysis I don't like, if anyone anywhere is saying that the cartoon exists in a political context that's undermining my enjoyment of it!"
That's you. That's what you sound like.
Basic English class bringing out the vintage gamergate blogs lmao
literally my dad

Do you do profile picture commissions? Because I was wanting to commission a profile pic of a bust of your trans Sora with a trans flag as the background.
Ooo that sounds delightful.
I'd say a profile picture commission would be $70
Any particular instructions for how to order or do I just send the $70 to your PayPal with a note?
Yeah just send it to PayPal ^^
Just to make sure, since they're different amounts, $70 CAD, not USD, right? Just want to make sure I don't accidentally underpay you.

why is this post completely broken in every way imaginable
Broken notes⦠deactivated account⦠removed imageā¦.
Finally, we have them all.
In addition: OPās name is just⦠gone. No ā[insert username]-deactivated[insert a bunch of numbers]ā as is the standard for deactivated blogs.

Itāll be almost impossible to find this post unless it wanders across your dash.
Sick!
One movie I feel like that evokes a similar reaction out of me that āGrave of the Firefliesā did for you is āThe Pianistā. Granted, the main guy played by Adrian Brody lives in the end and goes on to tell his story, but watching it is a gut punch after gut punch, slowly finding those he loves suffer and die from the Holocaust. However, it still is a movie that I love and did an amazing job portraying the atrocities of Nazi Germany, itās not a movie I canāt watch a lot without crying or feel that heavy sadness.
I feel that way about Jakob the Liar, particularly the ending.

It took me awhile to formulate exactly why fandom perspective that the Sith must always be evil and should never have nuance, even if a story discusses the flaws of the Jedi order. It was when I realized that my grievance with that idea was entirely doylist.
Regardless of lore or in universe justifications, having the theme of your story be, "Everything will be fine so long as this singular religious institute is not only the dominant, but the sole spiritual and moral compass of all creation because everything else is clearly evil and a corruption," is actually really fucked up.
Religious monoliths are always a no no guys.
femboyphobic
I dont know the full context of this scene but isnt Bridget here just saying that clothes can reflect the personality and tastes of the one wearing them? Is that not an innocuous and objectively correct statement? You have to be intentionally bad faith to read this as her being malicious or transphobic.
"Femboyphobic" ......
