Celebrating Saint Patrick’s Day in Ireland with Expat Elizabeth Lamb
To see more scenes from her life in Donegal, follow @ebdeco on Instagram.
“I’ve celebrated this day in the past, but it’s different in Ireland,” says American expat Elizabeth Lamb (@ebdeco) of Saint Patrick’s Day. “The tradition here is to go to Mass in the morning, and after go watch the parade,” she says, which is followed by meeting friends at the pub and listening to traditional Irish music.
After visiting Ireland as a teenager, Elizabeth returned to research her family history and wound up falling so in love with the country that four years ago, she moved into an old house on a sheep farm in Donegal, overlooking the North Atlantic. “The Irish landscapes, especially the rugged beauty of Donegal, are some of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen,” says Elizabeth. “I love the ever-changing light, the unspoiled raw beauty and the old stone walls, castles and cottages steeped in history.” Plus, she adds, “Where else can you find a crock of gold at the end of the rainbow?” ☘️
Tara Donovan Mimics Nature with the Mundane
To see more of Donovan’s work, explore the Pace Gallery location page and browse the #TaraDonovan hashtag.
The American artist Tara Donovan’s latest exhibition—on display through August 15 at Pace Gallery (@pacegallery) in New York City—consists of eight massive stalagmites constructed entirely from millions of glued-together index cards.
Donovan, whose critically-acclaimed work earned her the prestigious MacArthur Fellowship in 2008, challenges perceived distinctions between natural and artificial. By building large, organically shaped structures with everyday manmade materials like drinking straws, toothpicks and styrofoam cups, she forces viewers to reconsider the difference between the majestic and the mundane.
If you visit the Cheerios website and submit your address, they’ll send you 500 wildflower seeds for free so you can plant them and help save the bees. Source
UPDATE: THEY’RE ALREADY OUT OF SEEDS!
Thank you all for helping save the bees! I’d like to think we made a dent in their supply (whether we did or not, hehehe).

Swimming Alongside Humpback Whales with Jem Cresswell
To see more of Jem’s underwater adventures, follow @jemcresswell on Instagram.
“I aim to transport the viewer to a familiar yet extraordinary world,” says underwater photographer Jem Cresswell (@jemcresswell). She bought her first underwater camera when she was 17 years old. “I was immediately addicted and intrigued with the new world it opened up. Fourteen years on, nothing has changed,” says Jem, who lives on the desert coastline of South Australia. “I strive to learn from my mistakes and evolve my craft. Photography is a constant evolution.” She is currently working on a new series of portraits of humpback whales and an ongoing project capturing thunderstorms shot from the sea in New South Wales. “The ocean covers almost 72 percent of the world’s surface, and I love that there is still so much to be discovered,” says Jem.
