Blog Introduction —
This blog comes from a research perspective.
I aim for this account to be a healthy and open space of discussion about religion.
Put your experience (negative or positive) in the “tell me anything”, box and I will respond to it — unless asked otherwise.
Topics such as; what led you to religion, what led you to leave religion, deconstructing faith, informational texts, non harmful opinion based texts, religious research, verses, every non harmful religion based-topic, religious OCD, religious psychosis, etc. are all fully acceptable topics and I encourage you to talk about them, as well as topics I failed to mention in my list.
(definition of harmful for this blog: trying to convert people to any religion, claiming people are sinful / evil for not following or believing in a specific religious - based topic, being; homophobic, transphobic, racist, misogynistic, ageist, etc. — disrespecting agnostics , satanists, atheists, etc.) — while religious OCD religious psychosis, religious trauma, and religious guilt are / can be harmful to someone personally, I encourage people to talk about their experiences with it on here.
(The above applies to more than the four examples given.)
I am open to religious debate between myself and others, or others, on this blog. It’s important to share our religious beliefs with one another but the debate needs to stay firmly within a respectful and open tone.
I block freely and encourage others to as well.
Every religion is welcomed —
I believe all people deserve religious freedom, that we should respect everyone and allow them to openly discuss their religion (or lack of) and why they (do or do not) follow it without judgement.
Despite this blog being based around religion — I am also open, and hoping, atheists and agnostics (and others) will share their experiences and views as to why they do or do not differ from religion more than others.
I will not tolerate anybody who disrespects others religions and puts them down in a negative light.
There are many branches and aspects of religion that we have to keep in mind, and personal beliefs some possess that others don’t. (example: you can or cannot be a Christian satanist.)
Personal Religious Background —
I am agnostic and grew up in an agnostic household. Extended family of mine are Christian, past and current friends of mine have been / are Christian, and i’ve known a few Mormon people. In terms of my background on religious knowledge; I have researched, and am currently doing research on “all” forms, aspects, and types of religion. — (as many religions as I can)
Despite this, I do not claim to know everything about religion and I can be wrong constantly. I have a lot more ground to cover when it comes to this subject, correction and clarification are greatly appreciated.
I’d consider myself religious to some degree. My personal definition of agnosticism (by personal, I mean applying to me specifically), is that I believe the existence of God is unknowable, but I am open to every religion and their beliefs. I am also diagnosed with religious OCD, and it does impact my religious views personally but is not relevant nor repeatedly brought up in my religious debates, unless it adds to the argument.
My name is Joe, it is not my legal jame nor chosen name but rather a pen name for the internet.
My PFP is from a game called Hellkind, which i’ve never actually gotten the chance to play but i’ve watched many gameplays, and from what I understand it is religious horror-adjacent.
