Twenty Third Post!
This is the first fully rendered piece of solo Sriracha Man art that I've drawn in nearly two years, which I suppose is ironic when you consider that beforehand, I only drew solo Sriracha art. Although I did figure that it should've been time for me to draw something like this for reference purposes, and to reestablish myself with who and what the hell a Sriracha Man is.
As a character, Sriracha is best summarized as a short, angry man with a strong set of kicks and sense of justice. For one reason or another, he doesn't speak in anything but grunts and screams. It's because of this and several other factors that he isn't viewed the same by any two people in many regards, and often gets into misunderstandings with others due to that. It doesn't help that he stays largely mysterious to others and seems to disappear when not "on the prowl," leaving no method of contact and little to no clue of any kind of second life.
As a concept, Sriracha Man originates from a vaguely funny idea I had back in 2019 or so. It revolved around the idea of the absurdity of superhero concepts and evolved from there. I burned through plenty of (somehow even more) cringe-worthy ideas before settling on an early version of what I have now around three to four years ago, which also came the creation of Milkman. From there it wouldn't really take me until the summer of last year for me to create the rest of the cast and flesh out Sriracha as more of a character, largely due to the dynamics that he now had to share with the others.
I'm fairly happy with what I've got going on now, and especially so at the results of this render (sorry for talking about the guy in it so much; I just feel like I've done a poor job at introducing him before.) I think it's genuinely my favorite drawing of him so far, and I can't wait to further develop his world and character out. Who knows, if I stay dedicated enough to the stupid concept, I might actually consider writing a full story someday!
Lately, I've been binging a lot of new music, and a couple of my favorites that I've come across have been from British pop-rock band Zombina and the Skeletones. It's almost assuredly because I'm a sucker for a lot of pop infused music, in addition to cheesy and macabre ideas, so it's only natural that I fall head over heels over an album that almost entirely consists of songs that fit that exact bill. That being their debut: Taste the Blood of Zombina and the Skeletones. My favorite song off it is by far You Can't Break a Dead Girl's Heart, because it is dripping in that cheese and macabre I mentioned earlier and since it is incredibly easy to get stuck in your head. If you like stupid fun, b-movies, and dead people; give them a shot; it will be worth it.
Twenty Third (½) Post!
I don't even know why I started doing these things. I do them now because it's funny, to keep myself from getting too pretentious with Sriracha Man, the fact that men are natural sluts. But the thing is, neither of those reasons are why are why I started. I was just existing when I had thought about the idea of Sriracha in the outfit and against my better judgement, I drew it as a variant to TWG a couple of months later. And for some reason, they're actually achieving a level of success; I have several posts where the variant is more popular than the original. Which is nice as it means others are also finding the comedy in my inappropriate proportions, and because others are enjoying my particular brand of... whatever this is. That, or people are viewing it as something worthy of ridicule and showing it to their friends to laugh and spit upon. Either way, I'm still happy.
I've got a playlist of all my favorite songs I've listened to recently, and it's no surprise to hear that I've got You Can't Break a Dead Girl's Heart there. But I've also got it followed up with Meteorite, in addition to Disappear and Flood by Nox Novacula; you know, those punks (in a pejorative sense) that I recommended back in February? There's just something about that string of four songs that keep me coming back for more. There's just no explaining it for me, other than just recommending that you listen to it for yourself. If you come back and tell me you didn't like them, then I'm just gonna' assume that you must be fucking stupid or something.
