I need someone to write a drabble about Stanxeno having a daughter who ended up going to the DARPA conference with them and getting petrified. Then, later, she wakes up around the same time as her Dad's. She's was around 14 years old when petrified, making her a couple of years younger than Senku. It would be funny to see what kind of reactions Xeno and Stanley would have raising their daughter in the stone world. Would they be overprotective and strict about her doing reckless things or letting them explore the new world... I especially think it would be a comical/cute moment if Xeno and Stan caught their daughter trying Xeno claw-gloves on. Their daughter would be like, "How does dad wear these all the time and manage to get any work done?"I can't even manage to pick up my notebook and pencil.
If anyone has any Stanxeno child fanfic recommendations, please drop them in the comments.
Beneath that, your own notes filled the margins in your neat, deliberate handwriting.
In life, Wei Wuxian was known for his carefree, almost reckless joy. Playful, talkative, insolent. He irritated the elders and charmed the juniors. At least, in the beginning.
A cultivator of nearly absurd talent. When his spiritual energy was severed, he reinvented everything: his path, his body, his very way of existing. Rebellion wasn’t a choice. It was survival.
His influence is controversial. What some call chaos, others call freedom.
You stared at the page for a long moment, a familiar discomfort swelling beneath your ribs. This was always one of the harder entries to reread. Not because of Wei Wuxian himself, but because of everything he represented. A constant reminder that, despite all these stories, you’d never truly known most of the people you’d written about. Not even the ones still alive.
People still spoke ill of him. Even now. The same words every time: dangerous, arrogant, heretic.
And yet, Lan Wangji never used those terms. In fact… he barely spoke of him at all. But in the rare moments when he did — or in the many moments where his silence said more than words — it was clear that Wei Wuxian was, at the very least, unforgettable.
Perhaps admired. Perhaps lo—
You turned the page and pulled out one of the many crumpled papers you'd shoved in at random — a rough diagram of the demonic arm, sketched out during a sleepless night when your thoughts wouldn’t stop spinning.
Back then, you’d believed that the arm was strong enough to escape Lan Wangji and end up in the mountains on its own.
Combined with the reports of spirits vanishing in the same area where the arm was found... it all seemed to fit. It made perfect sense to think there was a connection.
But there wasn’t.
Still, because you trusted Lan Wangji blindly, you never questioned it.
He never confirmed — but he never denied it either. He just let the topic slide away, like it was nothing.
The truth? You’d been naive.
You asked everyone what had happened, and they all gave you the same answer — the “official” version. The one they'd agreed upon. The one that was meant to be true.
Only now, piece by piece, things were falling into place.
You remembered clearly: every time you tried to get close to the Mingshi, the spirit watchtower, someone would appear with an excuse to keep you away. A message. A task. A call for help.
And since it always came from senior cultivators, you couldn’t refuse.
That hadn’t happened before.
It only started after what happened in Mo Village.
Which led to a new — and far more uncomfortable — hypothesis:
While you were still in the Mo manor, on the other side of the fight, on the verge of blacking out... the demonic arm had likely already been subdued by Lan Wangji’s guqin.
He must have brought it back to the Cloud Recesses.
Must have locked it inside the Mingshi.
Must have asked everyone to keep it from you.
And now, it all made sense: the distractions, the detours, the sideways glances.
Even the offhand comment Lan Xichen had made just moments ago — Lan Qiren must have gone to inspect it on his own, while you were still up in the mountains.
Wangji had known.
You knew he had known.
From the start.
And still…
Your hand tightened around the paper harder than you meant to. The notebook slipped from your lap. You leaned back against the polished wooden wall of the Jìngshì.
“Liar... a big liar... a very good liar... such a ridiculously lying liar,” you muttered through clenched teeth.
“... so annoying.”
Frustration flared in your chest like a poorly healed splinter.
And it wasn’t just about the arm.
Or the wound still aching in your shoulder.
It was that he hadn’t told you.
Had let you guess.
Had left you out of the truth.
And the worst part? The worst part was that you understood why.
You had this impulse, this habit. Even knowing the risks, you always wanted to trace things back to their source.
You knew your limits.
You weren’t reckless.
You weren’t stupid.
But Lan Wangji also knew that when something truly interested you, you lost all sense of moderation. You got obsessed. You skipped meals, skipped sleep, dug into it until it hurt or until there was nothing left to find.
So maybe, yes. Maybe he only wanted to protect you.
But he could have said something.
He could have trusted you.
You closed your eyes, breathing deeply, trying not to spiral into that familiar pit of anger and hurt.
Trying to understand isn’t the same as accepting.
Behind you, Mo Xuanyu, or whoever was in that body, shifted, pushing a cushion with a soft rustle. You hadn’t even noticed him getting closer.
“What are you doing?”
“Nothing.”
“Really?”
“... No.”
“Mhm. And?”
You let out a tired sigh.
“Just frustrated. That’s all. Not doing anything serious, just... reviewing a few things.”
He looked at you with that same casual, slightly teasing air.
And without thinking, the question slipped out:
“Wei Wuxian?”
He pretended not to hear.
Kept wearing that same expression, like he was weighing the weight of your soul.
“Frustration is part of growth,” he said, like quoting a proverb.
“It’s not like I’d actually listen to your advice, Wei Wuxian.”
“Hey!” He turned, scandalized. “You too now? You really think I’m that Wei Wuxian guy?”
“Maybe yes. Maybe no. Either way... I don’t care.”
“Really?”
“Yes. Really.”
You stood, dusting off your robes with slow, quiet motions.
Behind you, he huffed.
“You know, I could be offended by that indifference.”
“But you won’t.”
“Because I’m used to it.”
“To the truth?”
“To the lack of it.”
You barely had time to react.
An arm wrapped firmly around your waist, pulling you back down with unexpected precision.
Your body collided with Mo Xuanyu’s — warm, solid, undeniably there.
Your elbow moved on instinct, ready to strike something vulnerable, but before you could finish the motion, his voice brushed your ear, low, soft, almost amused:
“Easy, easy... I’m just trying to stop you from running away from the conversation.”
His breath tickled the back of your neck.
It lasted only a moment, the warmth of his skin, the muffled timbre of his voice, the sudden nearness, and a shiver ran down your spine.
Not entirely unpleasant.
You took a deep breath and replied with a carefully neutral voice:
"I'm not running away. I just don't have anything else to say."
"You know... at first, I thought you were English. And a little problematic."
"Problematic? Why?"
"Corpse poison doesn’t spread that quickly. Its effects take time, vary depending on the depth of the wound. And you… you only had a small cut on your cheek. But you were already completely delirious that day, back in Mo Village. Remember?"
"It was the poison. You were the one who gave me the calming flower to slow down the effects."
"I told you before: the poison doesn’t work like that. Even with the flower, it wouldn't explain your condition. Besides... why did you stray so far from your group? They could've helped you. Why did it take you so long to come back?"
"Are you interrogating me now?"
"Maybe," he murmured, his lips still far too close to your skin.
You turned your face slightly, trying to catch his gaze over your shoulder.
"If you're asking questions... I can ask mine too."
He raised an eyebrow, as if silently accepting the challenge.
"Cultivation manuals are mostly useless. Full of nonsense, inflated information, wildly exaggerated stories. But... sometimes you find something interesting."
"Like what?"
"Like 'offered possession'. Ever heard that term, young master Mo?"
He hesitated for a second before answering.
"Never heard of it."
"Really? But you practice demonic arts. You play the flute. You're far too quick-witted for someone supposedly insane, you've never truly lost control, and you handle spiritual creatures with more skill than veteran cultivators. All that… and you never spent enough time in a clan to learn the traditional way."
He went quiet.
You turned a bit more. His eyes were locked on you. Intense. Far too vivid.
"You called me Wei Wuxian."
"I did."
"And what if I am?"
Your voice came out low. Lower than you expected. Lower than you wanted to admit.
"Tell me… was Wei Wuxian the strongest because he was the Yiling Patriarch? Or was the Yiling Patriarch the strongest because he was Wei Wuxian?"
He blinked, surprised by the question.
You continued, voice steady:
"People can find redemption. If they want to."
A heavy silence lingered between you. He pulled back slightly, but his arm stayed around your waist — a strange gesture, almost protective.
You raised a hand, removed the pin from your hair, and slowly wrapped it into his hand, guiding it to the side of your neck — his fingers now brushing the sensitive skin of your jugular.
"They say the Yiling Patriarch killed thousands, without mercy," you murmured, looking into his eyes. "If you really are the feared Patriarch... why don’t you kill me right now?"
A beat of silence.
"You could take my jade token. Leave Cloud Recesses. Spread the chaos everyone fears. Who’s going to stop you?"
He stared at you. For a long while. Long enough for you to feel the weight of possibilities pressing down on your shoulders.
Then he answered, with a calm almost unsettling:
"You tend to separate people by the names and titles they carry, don’t you? As if you're speaking of two different entities in the same body. A way to better understand who they are."
"Yeah. It helps organize my thoughts."
"So everything you just said... was based on what you know about the Yiling Patriarch?"
"Wei Wuxian and the Yiling Patriarch are the same person. The question isn’t about separating them. The question is: if he’s really that terrible… why did he help me?"
He didn’t respond immediately.
You pressed on, steady:
"You could be the worst person in the world. But if you help me for real, without asking anything in return… I’ll respect that. And I’ll help you back. And I won’t turn you in."
His lips curved into a smile. One that seemed almost involuntary.
"You’re weird, you know that, shimei?"
"I’ve been called worse."
"You said like attracts like."
He chuckled softly and removed the pin from his hand, carefully fixing your hair back in place — his fingers moving with more gentleness than you expected.
"You shouldn’t bet your life like this, just on instinct. That’s reckless. You don’t do stuff like that."
His tone shifted. He was back to that theatrical, melodramatic manner — a caricature of the Mo Xuanyu everyone remembered.
"Hey!" you protested, rolling your eyes. "Why are you talking like lunatic Mo Xuanyu now?"
"Because I am the lunatic Mo Xuanyu."
"You think I’m stupid, is that it? I know who you are."
"No, you don’t."
"I do!"
"You don’t."
"I do!"
He smiled again. A mischievous gleam in his eyes.
"You do."
"I don’t!" you snapped back instantly, then blinked, confused. "Wait, what?"
"Alright then," he said, shrugging, pretending to give up. "Since you said you don’t know… who am I to argue?"
You narrowed your eyes.
"I have a feeling you’re going to stress me out a lot."
"You used to be so nice to me when we first met..."
"People change."
"What a shame."
"Keep pretending all you want. Sooner or later, I’ll figure out who you really are."
He just laughed again. As if that didn’t worry him in the slightest.
And somehow, that both irritated you… and relieved you.
He paced back and forth, hands clasped behind his back, eyes lost in some silent reflection.
The soft scent of sandalwood filled the air — discreet, almost imperceptible, but present. The kind of fragrance that didn’t overwhelm the room, only brushed it gently. And yet, every time you breathed, it reached you again.
‘The same scent as Lan Zhan…’ you thought with an irritated sigh. ‘Must’ve clung to his clothes after playing guqin or meditating. Ugh. Stop thinking about that liar, Li! Think about how to dodge another meeting with the Baishi Clan or… I don’t know, think of something useful, woman!’
You were about to stand up when you saw Mo Xuanyu approach the incense table. He stopped, leaning slightly as if he'd noticed something. With his foot, he pressed one of the wooden floor blocks… which looked different from the others.
Curious, he crouched and tapped around. It didn’t take long before he pulled the block up, revealing a hidden compartment.
“Hey! You better not mess with that!” you exclaimed, quickly approaching and crouching beside him — but it was already too late.
As soon as the compartment opened, a subtle scent, hidden until then beneath the sandalwood, began to spread in the air.
Inside, squeezed into a tiny grid-like cellar, were seven or eight black ceramic jars. Alcohol. Clearly hidden. And very clearly forbidden in Cloud Recesses.
Mo Xuanyu stared at the jars like he'd discovered a secret treasure. After a moment of hesitation, he picked one up and began to open it.
“Hey! Stop that! It’s not for drinking! You're not even supposed to touch it! And if you do, I’m the one who’ll get in trouble!”
You grabbed the jar firmly, but he didn’t let go. Still pulling it toward himself with a mischievous grin.
“Oh, come on. You’ve never broken a rule or two?”
“Of course I have! For your information, I broke rules on my very first day here. But that was a long time ago. And if you're gonna break them, do it with style — leave no trace! Drinking alcohol that'll leave you reeking of wine inside Cloud Recesses? Everyone will notice!”
“No one gets drunk off a single sip. Or are you a lightweight?”
“Of course I’m not! But if you want to drink, do it when there’s no one around!”
He leaned in a bit more, still smiling:
“Tell me… are you mad at your Hanguang-Jun?”
You hesitated.
“… A little.”
“Then there you go. Call it revenge. A private toast, just the two of us. No one has to know.”
You crossed your arms, eyeing the little jar with suspicion. Yeah, you were mad. Honestly, you were mad at everyone who had lied to you these past few days — especially if they wore white and spoke with that annoyingly calm tone.
You knew your limits — moderate resistance, nothing a cup could really affect. Certainly not more than the resentment eating away at you inside.
You reached out, took a deep breath.
“… Just one cup. For me.”
He smiled, victorious.
“That’s enough.”
Just one cup for me.
A lie, of course.
The first was out of anger. The second, for the irony of it all. The third… well, that one was because he made a joke about “disciplining the jars before they discipline you,” and for some ridiculous reason, it was genuinely funny at that moment.
And before you knew it, you and the lunatic had emptied an entire jar together. Sitting side by side on the polished floor of the Jìngshì, backs against the wall.
“You’re gonna have a headache tomorrow,” he said, laughing softly.
“Tomorrow is future me’s problem.”
“Didn’t you say you weren’t a lightweight?”
“Go to sleep. I’m one of the most alcohol-resistant junior disciples, okay?”
“Sure…” he murmured, with a teasing smile.
“… hey…”
“Mhm?”
“You remember what I said when we first met? About the strong protecting the weak?”
“I do. Why?”
“Because… I think maybe you’re the one who should follow that phrase now.”
“Huh? What do you mean?”
“I get the feeling you’re stronger than me. It pisses me off. It makes me sad… —” your voice dropped — “It makes me worried. In a weird way.”
“I don’t think I have that kind of responsibility.”
“Maybe not. But if you do something great, you’ll be recognized. You’ll be remembered. I can’t be remembered. And yet… I’m terrified of being forgotten.”
You took a deep breath, throat tight. The alcohol gave you courage, but not comfort.
“I… sometimes think if I had stayed home, everything would’ve been easier. If I had followed a simpler path, maybe…”
He didn’t answer. Just stayed there, in silence, listening.
Your head slowly tilted to the side, already hazy, and you murmured without really thinking:
“But I’m not like other people, am I?”
And for the first time in a long while, you simply didn’t care. About the rules. About composure. About the world.
The warmth of alcohol danced beneath your skin. Your thoughts were heavy, but just light enough for your head to fully rest… and with calm breathing, you fell asleep right there — without even realizing it.
When you opened your eyes, everything was already dark.
The candle had gone out. The sandalwood incense burned to the end. The air was warm and silent, as if time itself had held its breath. You blinked a few times, trying to understand what you were seeing.
The room was empty.
Tidy. Neat. Untouched. As if no one had ever been there but you.
Mo Xuanyu — or the lunatic, or whoever he truly was — was no longer with you.
You slowly sat up, a dull pain throbbing at your temple and the bitter taste of alcohol lingering on your tongue.
“Damn…” you muttered, running a hand over your face. “Where did that idiot go?”
Your gaze fell on the partially open doorway. The curtain swayed gently in the night breeze.
“Well… if he escaped, there’s nothing I can do.” You sighed, bitter. “Now I feel bad… damn it.”
You just sat there, staring at the ceiling.
The anger wasn’t hot anymore. It was a warm ember — uncomfortable. The kind of discomfort you don’t shout about, just carry.
Though everyone had lied to you, you knew it wasn’t out of malice. Quite the opposite — it was to protect you. And in a way, you were grateful. But there was a fundamental difference between them and you.
They could choose to lie. You couldn’t.
You’d thought many times about telling Lan Wangji the truth. Telling Lan Xichen. Opening your heart, showing who you were, where you came from… the weight you carried. But you couldn’t.
Even being close to everyone — always smiling, always responsible, always helpful — sometimes, you had to
avoid certain situations. And that made you seem unreliable.
Sometimes, you had to pretend to be fine. Be steady. Be dependable. You couldn’t let anyone suspect.
Even though you were close to everyone… you belonged to no one.
That was you.
The missing daughter of Leader Li.
You stood up with some difficulty, still feeling the effects of the alcohol. The incense had vanished into the air, and the darkness of the room was oddly comforting.
You made your way to the door, intending to slip out quietly. Maybe going back to your room and taking a bath would be a good idea.
But when you opened it, you came face to face with Lan Wangji.
He was there.
Serious. Motionless. But his eyes held an intensity that hit you like a restrained blow. In his hand, he firmly held Mo Xuanyu's arm, preventing him from escaping.
Xuanyu wore his usual nonchalant expression, though one arched eyebrow betrayed some confusion—or at least, that’s what you assumed.
You froze for a moment, surprised. But didn’t show it.
You straightened your posture, softened your expression, and offered a bow.
“Hanguang-jun,” your voice came out calm, steady, and distant. “Apologies for allowing Master Mo to leave.”
Lan Wangji held your gaze for a few seconds in silence. Perhaps surprised by your sudden formality. Or by the fact that you couldn’t—or wouldn’t—look him directly in the eye.
Who knows. You weren’t looking at him long enough to find out what he was thinking.
Your eyes drifted down, settling discreetly on the stone floor behind him.
“There was no relevant incident,” you continued, voice still emotionless. “I hope Mo-gongzi didn’t cause any trouble. But if he did, I take full responsibility. He was under my care.”
Mo Xuanyu let out a muffled, awkward chuckle but stayed silent.
Wangji took a step toward you. His gaze dropped to the wound on your shoulder.
“You haven’t treated it…”
He extended a hand, his brow faintly furrowed.
But you instinctively pulled back, moving your arm away.
“That won’t be necessary,” you said, still in the same tone. “I’m fine.”
“You’re injured,” his voice was low but firm.
“I’ve suffered worse, Hanguang-jun. This is nothing,” you replied, a touch colder now. Your eyes met his for a brief moment… and then looked away again.
A heavy silence settled between you for a few seconds.
You turned and walked past them.
“Excuse me.”
You only took a few steps before turning back again.
“Hanguang-jun… if I break my part of our agreement, you can break yours too. And… vice versa. That’s all. Good night.”
And then you left.
The sky had already sunk into deep shades of blue as you crossed the smooth stone courtyard. The soft sound of wind through the bells hanging under the eaves followed your steps, and the faint scent of dried flowers in the air signaled that autumn had firmly settled over the Cloud Recesses.
You slid open the paper door to your room and stepped inside, shoulders slumped.
The moment your feet touched the dark wooden floor, you let out a sigh — one of those sighs that escapes without permission, heavy and deep. You removed your shoes with slow, almost ritual movements, aligning them in the corner as custom dictated, though slightly crooked, as always. The floor was cold, but with a cold you already knew — and in part, found comforting.
On the other side of the room, behind the paper screen painted with plum blossoms, the reddish wooden tub was already filled with hot water. A light steam rose and spread through the air, carrying with it the subtle scent of ginger and magnolia leaves someone — perhaps one of the attendants — had left there, as usual.
You undressed slowly, each layer of clothing as heavy as the hours of that day, and slipped into the warm water up to your neck.
The world stopped for a moment.
The warmth of the wood at your back, the muffled sounds from the distant courtyard, the sense that maybe… maybe here, for just a moment, everything could be suspended. You closed your eyes and allowed yourself to stay. But, of course, that kind of silence never lasts long.
When you returned to the room, it was the same as always: your particular chaos. A pair of hairpins on the desk, open scrolls with crooked notes, cushions scattered on the floor, a guqin leaning in a corner, covered by a fine layer of dust. Half-folded clothes atop the wooden chest, books stacked as if they had fallen and were never put back. A plate with dried plums, forgotten since... when, again?
You huffed. Crossed your arms. And decided to clean. Not out of obligation, but because putting the outside in order was less complicated than dealing with the inside.
You started with the books, aligning the rice paper scrolls, returning the calligraphy brushes to the carved jade stand. Folded the fabrics, swept the floor with a fine-straw broom, organized the oil vials and small wooden boxes with medicinal leaves. Wiped down the screen. Arranged the cushions around the low table, as if expecting invisible guests.
Only after everything was done, when the room finally seemed to breathe in peace, you let yourself collapse onto the kang — the low, heated bed. The warmth beneath your back, your body still softened by the bath, and the slow throb of exhaustion.
You sighed.
And then you saw it.
On the lacquered low table, beside the inkwell and the extinguished oil lamp, lay a carefully folded sheet of paper, tied with a thin red thread. Beside it, resting with the quiet grace of something that doesn’t ask for permission to be beautiful, was a single peach blossom — dried, yet still rosy and soft, as if it carried spring in secret.
You sat up slowly, curious and suspicious. Sat on the small cushioned stool, loosened the thread, and unfolded the paper.
The calligraphy was elegant, refined — with long, deliberate strokes, as if each word had been chosen with care.

To the esteemed Miss Li,
I hope the autumn winds have been gentle with you.
I send this small keepsake from a walk beneath the flowering trees — may this blossom, though silent, brighten your day as your presence brightens mine.
It has been several days since we last met.
Xichen-gege mentioned in his last letter that you have been dedicating yourself intensely to your training, which is admirable.

We strongly suggest reading the novel first (+ manhua and/or audio drama) for the full effect of the unique way in which the story is told. Censorship takes away, not only the gay in the story, but also a lot of its complex layers. The original story also contains MATURE themes and EXPLICIT content, you know the drill.
If there’s anything that was left out, let us know.

Hi, I need help finding an MDZS fanfic, please. I have a snapshot of the summary of fanfic, but I can’t seem to find it.
Summary: The Third Jade [MDZS Fanfic]
[Jiang Cheng x OC] Lan Zhu, courtesy name Lihua, is the younger twin sister of Lan Wangji, younger sister of Lan Xichen and the pride of the Lan Clan, after her two elder siblings. Known as Ànyĩng Shàonữ, or Shadow Maiden, she is a prodigy in cultivation and is also one of the Three Jades of Lan. Lan Zhu is the second known cultivator to have actually reached immortality. She is also engaged to Jiang Cheng, though this arrangement was made by his mother and her uncle a year ago. They both eventually fell deeply in love during his stay in Gusu. Personality-wise, Lan Zhu is the exact opposite of both her elder brothers. Others describe her as manipulative, cruel and an excellent actress. Her eldest brother describes her as a girl who covers up her true personality to stop herself from becoming too attached to someone not of her clan. Her twin describes her as someone who is loyal to the ones she sees as friends and as someone who he can fully trust, even if she gives him reasons not to trust her. Her fiance, Jiang Cheng, and his sister, Jiang Yanli, describes her the same way her twin describes her. Wei Wuxian would describe her as his best friend, who is unlike any Lan he has ever met. After Wei Wuxian dies a few years later, Lan Wangji grieved for him and waited for him, while Lan Zhu turned her grief into cruelty, broke off her engagement to Jiang Cheng after learning of his role in Wei Wuxian's death, and became a totally different person entirely, and her family could do nothing but watch. Or, in which Lan LiHua chooses to leave her anchor [Jiang Cheng], slowly losing her humanity as a result, and tries to ignore Jiang Cheng's relentless attempts at trying to fix their relationship, in favor of helping her twin and best friend solve a mystery. However, fate (and love) will not be denied.
Do you mean this one? The summary is different but I checked the first chapter and the character's name is Lan Zhu and I think the first chapter has the same summary as you wrote?

"Lan Zhan!", a voiced echoed through the whole room, you just sighed in frustration, you had been trying to get away from Wei Ying for a week now, you thought attending the lessons he didn't would help get you some peace but unfortunately, he had came here to ask Lan Zhan about your whereabouts, "Wei Wuxian, stop disturbing our lesson!", Lan Qiren yelled, annoyed at the voice of a troublesome student.
Wei Ying was now all over Lan Zhan's face, asking him where you were, "Lan Zhan~ have you seen (name)~?", he whined like a child, Lan Zhan just gave him a slight glare before continuing his studies as if the other had vanished into thin air.
You sighed, looking at the two while you sat across the room from them, hoping the bastard wouldn't find you, fortunately for you, he was kicked out after being scolded by Lan Qiren, you sighed in relief and continued your studies.
You sat silently reading the caligraphy in peace while rabbits gathered around you, some sleeping, some staring, some trying to get on your lap, the sound of the waterfall made everything ever so peaceful until- "(Name)! I found you!", the inevitable voice of Wei Ying disrupts the peace and quiet you once had. Sighing, you close the scroll and turn around to see him just right behind you, face to face, too close for comfort, you turn back around, flustered, "what you want, Wei Wuxian", as you said that, he pouted "We're already so close and yet you're still calling me by my courtesy name!", he whined like a child once again, "It's for formalities. ", was all you answered before picking up the rabbits from your lap and setting them down, walking away from the area, "jeez why are you so cold~ you're almost as cold as Lan Zhan", he continued to follow you, you just walked faster and closed your eyes, but then suddenly bumped into someone, "my apologies, i wasn't watching where i was going..", you slightly looked up to see Lan Wangji, he looked at you and then at Wei Wuxian who was following closely, "Hey Lan Zhan! I didn't know you take walks here!", he says enthusiastically while waving.
Lan Zhan just looks at you, grabbing your arm and taking you with him, "date", was all he said, flustering you even more, blush was spread on your cheeks.
"No fair! You said i would have the first date", Wei Wuxian goes infront of Lan Wangji and blocks his way, "go", Lan Wangji said, slightly irritated, trying to walk past Wei Wuxian, "ah...", was all you could muster, this was a weird situation.. before your mind could process everything, you were suddenly carried by Lan Wangji, bridal style and being lifted up in the air, you instinctively grabbed onto his neck, and buried your head in his chest, you had never really flew before, this was a new experience for you, Wei Wuxian had followed you both, " Lan Zhan!!! This is so not fair you know!", he yells a bit, the air was cold, it was peaceful, despite the whines of a certain male in the background.
That was the most recent memory you had of them, now you were just a wandering cultivator, your remaining family members and clan members had been slained by the Wen clan, you weren't there to witness it, people can say that was a bad or good thing.
Although, you were there for Wei Wuxian's demise, all you could do was watch it happen, trying to save his shijie with your limited medical knowledge, you felt guilty, you couldn't help him nor his shijie, after the whole thing happened, you fled , living a normal life with a ridiculous amount of gold and silver on you.
It was during this time that you met with some folks who were still young and independent, they wanted to be cultivators, your title was starting to die down so they didn't know who you were, you had saved the small village from destruction, making the young men beg to go with you on your journey, you ignored them and went on your way but they were insistent, they kept following you despite you telling them to stay in the village, with no choice, you let them follow you.
It had now been 13 years after the incident, you taught the young men, Feng Liu, Cheng Wei and Hua Guo, how to cultivate, they were capable of cultivation, but they were noticeably weaker than some cultivators. You and your team were walking along the mountains when you noticed the leader of the Yunmeng Jiang clan along with Lan Zhan and Mo Xuanyu were, from what you can tell, fighting, you and your team stayed hidden until Jiang cheng was about to strike Mo Xuanyu with Zidian, your insticts kicked in and you got between them, grabbed Mo Xuanyu and rolled over on the ground, nearly getting struck, Mo Xuanyu was on top of you, "are you okay?", you asked, he stared at you for a but before Jiang Cheng broke the silence, " (name)? What are you doing here, saving a maniac of all things, we haven't seen you in 13 years." , he said coldly, you got up from your awkward position and patted down your clothes, you didn't bother answering and just walked away, before you could leave the scene, your arm was gripped tightly by...Lan Wangji, you turned your head to look at him, "do you need anything?", you looked at him impatiently ,he hadn't changed one bit, still remaining silent, though you noticed his tense figure noticeably softened when he saw your face, "haiyaa Jiang Cheng, you're going to scare him off", Mo Xuanyu says to Jiang Cheng, his gestures and speech were strangely similar to Wei Wuxian but you brushed it off as you missed him, "what brings ya here, (courtesy name)~", Mo Xuanyu gets up to your face, smiling like an idiot, " i was passing by.", you said, not minding his face close to you.
"If you don't mind, i'll be on my way." You try to escape from this situation, forgetting the grip on your arm, now tightening, "ow! Stop gripping so hard...", it really did hurt, you forgot how strong Lan Wangji was.
He lets go of you arm, letting you run towards the forest and towards your "friends".
"(Name) what was that about?", one of the asks, curious on how they seemed knew you,
Hi!!!! :3 Can i request a Hualian x reader who has an arranged marriage?? ____________________________________
Xie Lian and Hua Cheng already knew you had a complicated love life going on.
You have a secret relationship with them and you unfortunately have a real fiance who you do not like at all.
At first Xie Lian and Hua Cheng were fine with this
Aka Xie Lian was very understanding and Hua Cheng pouted a lot.
But then it started getting iffy
Not because of you but because of your family and your fiance
Like what do you mean your family is forcing you to marry someone you don't like?
What do you mean they wouldn't be okay with you dating them instead 🤨
What do you mean your fiance is actually rude as hell🤨
San Lang has no problem with fixing that problem by putting your fiance in the dirt but Xie Lian talks him out of it.
It goes on like this for a while.
You dating Xie Lian and Hua Cheng in secret
You have a fiance in public. Your fiance wasn't really pushing for a marriage either so it was supposed to be fine!
But then your parents really, really wanted you to have the wedding. Soon. Like now.
You cried a lot at this, you didn't want to leave Xie Lian and Hua Cheng
But you didn't want to break up with them either so you avoided them.
It's been weeks since you've talked to them.
now you stand at the alter in red.
You wish it was Xie Lian and San Lang standing in front of you but of course it's not.
Once Hua Cheng gets word of what's going on he immediately tells Xie Lian.
There's no WAY they are going to just let you slip from their fingers
They'll simply have to scare your fiance and family away☺️
So Xie Lian goes with San Lang's plan this time
Which is to crash the wedding of course!
🦊🪷
You had been standing at the alter, in your red robes. You would've been happy if you were getting married to someone you actually loved. But you aren't, it's a shame you look so beautiful. You miss Xie Lian and Hua Cheng. They're the only people you've been thinking about the whole time. Even while standing here with your future husband. How shameful.
Your fiance is moving the red lace veil out of your face, preparing to kiss you and seal your marriage but you both are interrupted. Honestly you thought you were imagining your lovers voices because you had been thinking about them the whole time but, no. That's the real Xie Lian and Hua Cheng. A black smoke wipes through the room and suddenly you're in Hua Cheng's arms.
You look like a fish with how you stumble to find words. "S-San Lang what are you two doing here" you look around the room and at your fiance but you don't get the chance before the three of you disappear in the black smoke and arrive at Paradise Manor instead.
"Collecting our lover of course" Xie Lian quips and kisses your head. He carefully takes the veil off your face and removes the jewelry from you. It's taken off gently, the robes not so much. Hua Cheng shoves you into the bedroom and literally rips the robes off of you. "He didn't deserve to see you like that. You looked gorgeous as a bride, but you aren't his bride" Hua Cheng growls out and kisses you.
You're so happy that your lovers have come for you that you're tearing up. You kiss Hua Cheng back just as passionately, and cling around him. Xie Lian settles behind you and kisses the nape of your neck.
"We'll take care of you Baobei so be in a relationship with us instead, we'll take care of everything else, yes?" Xie Lian murmurs and his hands grip at your hips.
"Yes A-Lian and A-Lang will take care of everything" you sigh and happily lean against Xie Lian's chest. Hua Cheng's lips start kissing and biting at your neck roughly, Xie Lian's lips peck over your shoulders. You arch and squeal when Hua Cheng's pointy teeth catch on your nipple.
"Who's bride are you, Baobei?" Hua Cheng growls out and his hand squeezes around your aching cock. You whimper and roll your hips up into his hand. "Yours, yours and A-Lian's only"
You gasp a moan when Hua Cheng starts to stroke you cock and when Xie Lian's oiled - when did he do that? - fingers prod at your prostate, loosening you up for much bigger things in the near future. You blush and pant against your lovers.
Eventually Xie Lian slides into your hole and uncharacteristically starts fucking into you. Hard. "Nobody else's Baobei?" He bites at your ear. You squeal again and Hua Cheng smiles at Xie Lian's bullying. "Nobody else I s-swear, only yours ah~!" You stumble over your words and Hua Cheng moves closer.
His mischievous eyes find Xie Lian's, "do you think both of us could fit, gege?" His hand presses flat against your tummy, making Xie Lian's cock press deeper into you. "Oh~!"
Xie Lian hums and kisses your cheek while keeping a steady pace. The two of them act like you aren't even there. "Stretch him more with your fingers then try San Lang"
San Lang nods and then prods two oiled fingers into your hole. They don't want to hurt you of course! Hua Cheng smiles when your hole easily accommodates his fingers and Xie Lian's dick together. "Are you sure it's only us Baobei? Look at how stretched out you are", Hua Cheng teases.
You babble and whimper at the stretch. It hurts but it feels so good. "No one, no one! Only you, only A- Lian and S-San Lang I promise" you let out a long whine when San Lang engulfs you into a kiss and shoves. The rest of his fingers in. After all if you can't fit his fingers you can't fit his cock. You tear up at the stretch and gulp for air from San Lang's lips.
Once San Lang and Xie Lian work together on stretching you out, He takes his fingers out. He replaced them quickly with his cock though and slowly bullies his way into you and next to Xie Lian's cock. When San Lang manages to get into the hilt all three of you moan. You have two cocks in you, while Xie Lian and Hua Cheng are inside your warm hole and rubbing up against each other. It feels good for all parties.
Your tears slide down your cheeks and you whimper. Xie Lian kisses your cheek and both of your lovers whisper affirmation and sweet nothing's into your ears. You're sandwiched between the two of them. After some time of just sitting and getting used to the stretch Hua Cheng starts fucking into you.
Xie Lian and Hua Cheng gang up on you. They fuck you in a way that never leaves you empty. It's non stop from them and it quickly wrings cum out of you. You squeal and babble while cum splatters over yours and Hua Cheng's chests.
Hua Cheng bites at your lip and lifts your legs so him and Xie Lian can get a better angle. "Whose bride are you again Baobei? Do you remember?" You moan loudly and your nails scratched at Hua Cheng's back. You gurgle on your own drool and blink away tears. "Your b-bride, Xie's bride!" You heave for air, forced to cry and cum over and over again in their cocks. Eventually Xie Lian and Hua Cheng peak over the edge too and both of their cum warms up in your belly.
If you were comprehensive right now, you would've noticed the small bump in your tummy. Your lovers pull out and hot cum drips from your hole. Xie Lian pecks kisses over your face whispering how good of a job you did.

this is the second part of my first story, "The First Glance". Again it's technically about my OC since no one's asking for anything. I just have it written to where it can be for a reader. 😋
Switching pov's
Also guys I am not Chinese but I try to find words and translations that are important to my OC's story.
Dúshé means poison laced tongue in simplified Chinese (I think)
Mûguô means bitch, or whore in simplified Chinese (I think)
Míngqín means song bird it's Y/n's nickname
Previous part: First Glance
_____________________________________________
Once the morning has officially started, San Lang goes back to his wood pile. You stand by Xie Lian while San Lang somehow manages to build a whole door for the shrine. Xie Lian seems to love it, it's obvious with how he's become fascinated by opening and closing it repeatedly.
"I thought a door would be easier to stick talismans on than a curtain" San Lang explains. You smile and give a small clap. "It's a very well made door, San Lang, good job" you giggle at Xie Lian's excitement.
At the mention of talismans Xie Lian seems to remember something. He claps his hands together, "Oh Míngqín I forgot to tell you what happened at Mount Yunjin! I'm so sorry, so much happened yesterday"
You wave a hand, "it's nothing to worry about. How important could it be? I was there for most of it." You smile but Xie Lian's face is very serious so really nothing's funny at all.
"Well actually," Xie Lian laughs nervously, scratching his temple. "I talked with the heavenly officials and I found out that I met a calamity yesterday." Your face morphs into shock but Xie Lian quickly settles you down. "Not him." The words are met with silence. Of course it wasn't the white calamity. What were you thinking? ,"They called him Crimson Rain Sought Flower, his name is Hua Cheng" Xie Lian smiles. At this ghost's mention San Lang starts to pay attention to the conversation. "He walked me through the forest yesterday and I mistook him to be the ghost groom but he isn't. He isn't hard to be mistaken after seeing his silver butterflies ."
You're in shock. Because you got caught up in a swarm of silver butterflies yesterday. "I... Just don't understand. Why would a calamity be hanging around Mount Yunjin? Crimson Rain Sought Flower is known to stay in his den." You sigh.
You easily worry about Xie Lian and panic once more. "He didn't hurt you did he?" You move closer to Xie Lian and hold his face, looking for marks or bruises. "Why didn't you call for me, I would've been there right away." You frown and move back once you're satisfied with your search.
"There was no need to call, he didn't hurt me... He led me through the forest and safely delivered me to the temple." Xie Lian smiles but you sigh.
Xie Lian didn't get hurt, but a well known calamity shows up and helps Xie Lian? Coincidence. The same calamity helping you? Intention.
"...I suppose it's okay. As long as you didn't get hurt A-Lian. Just be careful." You look to the ground, but Xie Lian pats your head. "I am careful, ah you really should've seen the butterflies though Míngqín They were very beautiful"
You arch a brow then shake your head. "I actually did see them but, Wèizhī might eat them" Wèizhī is your two birds - Oriental Magpie- , they're not here right now though. They're probably bathing in water somewhere. Hm a bath doesn't sound so bad actually-, "Y/n?" You're brought back into focus when San Lang gains your attention. "Sorry I tend to lose my train of thought" you hum.
"What about you y/n?" You cock your head to the side at San Lang's question. "What have you heard about Crimson Rain" San Lang smiles mischievously.
"Why would I know anything about anybody?" You shrug. Of course you've heard and seen plenty about Hua Cheng, you're a ghost. You're... Residence happens to be near Ghost City.
Xie Lian nods in agreement though, he could use the info. You sigh, "Who knows? He stays in his den, and although close I've never seen him in my city." You shrug again.
All of you eventually go back inside. You end up staring at the painting again. You would have eventually painted something for Xie Lian but you've been busy working on the actual build of the shrine. You've always been good at the arts. Drawing, dancing, and singing. That is why you're the God of Song after all.
"San Lang's skills are very beautiful" You say, looking over at him. "Who taught you?"
San Lang shakes his head. "I had a good teacher a while back, I paint mostly for fun now." You nod at his explanation and smile back at the painting. You really do like it. It shows Xie Lian in what once used to be all his glory.
"Do you really like it so much, Míngqín?" Xie Lian stares at you and you've forgotten you don't have a veil on. They can see your expressions and you aren't just invisible anymore. You blush, and instinctively cover your mouth with your sleeve.
"O-oh, well yes I like it. It's very well done and it captures the prince of XianLe very beautifully." You stutter and look away.
The moment is interrupted when the three of you hear a scream and a man running towards the shrine. "Save Me! Save me please!" The panicked man grabs Xie Lian's wrist very harshly. It's in your nature, you can't help it. You are quick to push the man away, and to protect Xie Lian. He pats your arm however, in a 'It's okay' motion. Xie Lian sits the man down and asks for an explanation from him.
You and San Lang glare at him. Both of you don't trust him and both of you share a glance when the man explains he's from Banyue pass. Which has since turned into a dry land of sands. The man was running away from what killed his other group members.
"You ran all the way from Banyue pass to here?" San Lang asks with crossed arms. Your form is the same. The man seems to sweat at this, but Xie Lian in all his kindness offers the man a drink. Xie Lian is kind but he's probably just testing if the man is a mortal or not.
"No need to be polite you can drink" The man -for all his supposed running- hesitates to take the water Xie Lian so generously offered. When he does drink it, the water going into his body sounds hollow. You and Xie Lian both know it. "You can stop drinking now." Xie Lian says and takes the water from the man's hands. His disguise is ruined and everyone knows now. The man rises up quickly though and pulls a sword from his sleeve, moving to attack Xie Lian.
Before you or San Lang can act, Xie Lian is quick enough to flick the sword away. Sometimes you forget Xie Lian is just hiding his strength. The man tries to run and Xie Lian moves to use Rou'ye but the man drops and a sad looking skin bag(?) is left behind... A chopstick is what caused the damage. You and Xie Lian both whip your heads around to San Lang. Xie Lian goes to investigate the corpse but you still stare at San Lang.
"A chopstick?" You ask with an arched brow. "A chopstick" San Lang only smiles and you sigh. You both go to Xie Lian. When you get closer you can see that Xie Lian is using the array, so you do too. The only thing you can really hear is people being joyful about merits, and ignoring Xie Lian. Officials disgust you.
"Are the lot of you deaf? Did you not hear his highness? He asked a question." Your voice rings through the array and the officials who were once joyful before quiet down. Instead of answering, the cowards leave the array.
You're not a popular force in the heavens. Especially since your personality has always been cold and distant. You were actually loved once before, for your unnatural beauty and voice people revered you. That was until they found out you were a ghost and before they trashed Xie Lian's name. You would cause trouble for the other gods and challenge them often, causing fear to most officials. You always defended Xie Lian's name and when given the chance for promotion, you refused and chose to stay with Xie Lian instead.
This loyalty of yours to a scrap god however causes other officials to look down on you, they also just don't like your attitude. You have other unofficial titles that the heavenly officials made and of course those names spread. There's one title that used to be used quite often but you actually haven't heard any officials call you that in a long time. That title is "mûguô". Someone caught word of your past and decided to spread the name to upset you, but it faded out very quickly. That official -who you never even knew the name of- disappeared shortly after, with their temples burnt and no trace of them.
You're stuck in your thoughts until you hear Ling Wen answer Xie Lian's question about Banyue Pass. You leave the array, Xie Lian will tell you what's going on. When you look over at San Lang he's giving you a cheeky smile. "What?" You tilt your head but he just shakes his head.
You run your hands over your new braid while Xie Lian talks to Ling Wen. You mess with the red ribbon San Lang tied your hair with. It's definitely a pop out color compared to all the white you wear.
"San Lang, I'm afraid me and y/n will have to go far away soon" Xie Lian pipes up and stands from the... Thing on the ground. San Lang furrows a brow at the news and then gives a smug grin. "Why doesn't gege and y/n take me with them? I know a lot about Banyue Pass."
Xie Lian looks confused but he nods anyways. You wouldn't mind if San Lang came along either. "Oh? What do you know about Banyue Pass San Lang, you're far too young to know those things" you tease with a smile, while the three of you head inside the shrine.
San Lang chuckles and goes to speak before a knock on the door makes you all silent. You all look at each other in a moment of silence before Xie Lian opens the door.
When Xie Lian opens the door it reveals Mu Qing and Feng Xin who are in disguise... They are in a shocked silence not having seen you in a long time and to see your face after so long. You all sit in silence.
After you get over your shock you let out a panicked yelp and cover your face. They saw your face! Your cursed, cursed face! You shove your face into your hands. You didn't want Mu Qing to see it. He'd use it against you and you already hate him enough already. Feng Xin saw your face! He'll surely be disgusted with you now.
You start to groan into your sleeves, trying to move away from their eyes. You try to find your veil through the slits of your fingers. You can hear your name tumble from Feng Xin's lips but the door slams and someone whisks you away into their arms. They forcibly move your hands away from your face and now you can see that your face to face with red robes .
San Lang holds your wrists, and that stops you from hiding your face. "San Lang, my veil? Where's my veil?" You don't have a clue where he put it. Another pair of hands come into view and puts your veil over your eyes. You know it's Xie Lian.
Now that you can actually tell what your surroundings are you find that you're in San Lang's arms. You blush and step back. You hadn't meant to grip onto him so tightly.
Xie Lian sighs in relief when they find y/n's veil. Xie Lian is actually sad to see his face hidden again. He hasn't seen your face in so long and he missed it. Xie Lian supposes he doesn't mind though. If anyone deserves to see your beauty it's him and he actually doesn't want Feng Xin or Mu Qing to look. Xie Lian shakes his head to remove such thoughts. As if he could describe your face like it was a secret to keep between the three of you.
"I'm going to open the door now y/n" he pats your hand. He waits for your nod before opening the door again. He smiles nervously at the two officials outside. Of course Xie Lian knows who they really are but for now he'll pretend. "Ah why are you two here?"
Mu Qing and Feng Xin have crossed arms "Are you going to Banyue Pass? We're going with you" they say at the same time and then glare at each other. Xie Lian laughs but opens the door to let them inside. He looks at y/n keeping an eye on him. Xie Lian knows his temper.
When Feng Xin and Mu Qing see San Lang they're alarmed. Holding up their lighting, and fire. "Who's he?" Mu Qing nods his head at San Lang. Xie Lian sighs, "This is San Lang"
Feng Xin's eye twitches, "where did he come from? Where's his family? Do you usually invite people you don't know into your home?"
Xie Lian laughs nervously but he's glad that the attention isn't on y/n anymore.
Not until Mu Qing attempts to throw lightning at San Lang. It would have most definitely hit the wall and caused a big hole but y/n dispersed it. Sending a shot of ice towards Mu Qing. His face hides behind his veil but Xie Lian knows you're angry. "No fighting in the shrine. If you damage the shrine I promise to return the damage double to your god's palace" he spits with venom, threatening Mu Qing's palace.
It's evident y/n doesn't try to hide who he is. Sure he's in his avatar and he looks simple. However he doesn't do a good job at keeping his abilities at bay.
Xie Lian doesn't know whether to laugh or cry. The tension in the room is very high. Mu Qing looks ready to argue back but San Lang steps in front of y/n and stands by Xie Lian's side. "Are these two servants, gege?" He hums with a smug smirk.
"uhm something like that but not exactly-" Xie Lian gets interrupted when San Lang throws a broom into Mu Qing's hands. "Start helping then" San Lang smiles. His face resembles a mischievous fox. Y/n cackles.
Xie Lian waves his hands trying to calm a cursing Feng Xin and Mu Qing down. "Please for my sake leave him alone" he laughs nervously. He doesn't need his shrine to get destroyed not that y/n would let that happen.
Talking about y/n, ah. He's glaring at Mu Qing under the veil. He'll have to make sure they don't break out into a fight either. San Lang leans on y/n's shoulder and the stiffness seems to leave y/n's body. Xie Lian isn't too worried about anyone fighting. He thinks San Lang will keep a careful eye on y/n.
Xie Lian rubs his temple. "Maybe Feng Xin should make a pathway so that we can get to Banyue Pass quickly?"
Feng Xin does just that. Leaving Mu Qing standing alone in front of the three of them. "Is he coming with us?" Mu Qing points to San Lang with furrowed brows. Xie Lian sighs and goes to answer but y/n answers for him
"Of course, since when was it a servant's job to worry about his highness's friends?" Xie Lian drops his head when he realizes that Y/n has joined San Lang in his smart remarks.
Not only does he have to worry about one silver tongue but two. "Yes San Lang is coming with us. He knows a lot about Crescent Moon Pass and that's sure to help me" Xie Lian explains with a nervous smile.
Mu Qing is interrupted when Feng Xin cuts him off, "The pathway is finished". Mu Qing, ever the prideful looks at the pathway and shrugs, "I've seen better". Which leads to Feng Xin and Mu Qing bantering again.
Y/n interrupts them by activating the pathway. "Stop bickering like an old married couple let's go" San Lang snickers softly, "I never thought of that, they do bicker like an old married couple don't they" The two officials glare at San Lang and y/n. They smile back. Xie Lian only knows y/n is smiling because of his crow feet.
They all go through the portal. Xie Lian lets out a laugh, knowing that he's going to have to deal with all of the four's antics on their journey. Xie Lian is happy with his circus though.

You've been by Xie Lian's side for a long time. You've been his guard for as long as you can remember, and a god under him for even longer. A very long time actually, so you'd like to think you know him well enough to predict his movements. Apparently not.
You're at Puqi shrine, cleaning the place up and fixing dinner for you and Xie Lian. You chose to stay while Xie Lian went and to go investigate a ghost groom who was kidnapping brides. It's since then turned dark and when Xie Lian turns up, there's another man with him. You weren't expecting Xie Lian to bring someone home with him, nor were you expecting the strange man to stay the night.
The strange man's name is actually San Lang, but you still think he's strange anyways. After scolding Xie Lian for bringing someone home without any warning you serve dinner at the makeshift table you came up with. You give San Lang yours, you don't really need to eat. You're a heaven official and being with Xie Lian has you used to it anyhow.
"Thank you for making dinner Míngqín, I wouldn't have minded making it myself", Xie Lian says. You cringe at the thought though. You wave a hand, "not necessary I've got it". You sit down and observe as they both eat. Xie Lian and San Lang chat about something but you aren't paying attention. You're staring at San Lang, it's strange how fast the man has clung himself to Xie Lian. You've never seen him before and yet he so easily acts as if he's known Xie Lian forever.
You look away, thoughts straying to the bed laying on the floor. If it can even be called that it's more like a mat. Are all three of you going to sleep on it? Your thoughts are quickly interrupted when you notice San Lang staring at you. He can't possibly see your face not with the veil you've hidden it behind, but the way he's staring at you makes it feel like he's trying to. It doesn't feel like anything bad or alarming, just unnerving. People don't look at you. They usually stray their eyes away, but San Lang does not.
You leave the table, and lie on the mat. Xie Lian and San Lang will eventually lay down too. You take the middle spot. It makes the most sense, you don't want Xie Lian to be in danger. He's always been kind and you don't want that to back fire on him. You figure it's most safe if you stay between San Lang and Xie Lian.
You are already 'asleep', you aren't of course but you're breathing and heartbeat all sound as if you are. You technically don't need sleep but it's still nice to rest sometimes. You can hear San Lang talk about the missing painting on the wall. There's not yet a painting of the God of Scraps, but Xie Lian ushers San Lang to go to sleep instead.
Xie Lian lies to your right, you can tell. After all you've been sleeping next to each other for years. San Lang lies to your left, leaving you stuck in the middle. It's uncomfortable. You aren't worried about your veil slipping off, it's yours to manipulate and you've long since mastered being able to make the veil comfortable on your face. It's the closeness that bothers you.
You haven't really been in anyone's company other than Xie Lian's. No one else tends to like you, not the officials and not ghosts. That's fine you don't like them either but this sudden presence is new and you've never liked touch in the first place. Touch is scary. It always has been since the fall of XianLe. It makes you want to puke. Xie Lian is the only exception to this, seeing as you've been around him your whole life.
It's not that repulsive actually. For whatever reason San Lang's closeness doesn't seem to make you want to hurl. His breath down the back of your neck however makes you nervous. If you weren't a ghost your heart would be beating fast. You can feel him staring holes into you but you play sleep anyways.
"You're not truly asleep are you?" You internally huff as San Lang asks. You didn't think you were bad at it. You ignore him and continue hoping he'll believe your lie. It's not until a shuffle on your right, and a harsh grip on your robes make you realize San Lang isn't talking to you.
"It's not like I was fake sleeping San Lang" you can feel Xie Lian sit up a bit. "You aren't asleep either" Xie Lian exclaims. You can't see of course your eyes are closed even behind the veil you're worried they'd see your eyes open.
"I was too busy staring at your assistant" his voice takes on a teasing tone. 'Assistant' is what Xie Lian had told San Lang you are. Xie Lian is supposed to be a priest for himself and your alias is to be Xie Lian's assistant. Of course it's not who you truly are. You're truly the God of Song and Xie Lian is truly the God of Scraps. San Lang wouldn't know that though.
Your stomach drops when you feel San Lang's hand start to tinker with your veil. You're about to give it all up to move away but a big clap happens right over your face. You suppose it's time to give it up for the night. You open your eyes, and look up at the clasped hands above you. Xie Lian's holding San Lang's, most likely trying to move his hand away.
"Ah I'm sorry we woke you Míngqín, San Lang just needed a blanket he was cold..." Xie Lian smiles down at you. You nod, "It's okay. Let's go back to sleep then." San Lang only laughs to himself and lies back down. You and Xie Lian lay back down too. The night eventually calms again.
When morning comes, you realize you fell asleep and when you get out of bed you see that Xie Lian and San Lang have already gotten out of bed. You get up as well and you change your veil. The veil is often changed, you don't like keeping the same design everyday. Some veils cover your whole face, and some veils leave your eyes unhidden. Today you choose a veil that only covers your nose and mouth.
You're ready to go outside until something in the corner of your eye stops you. A painting of Xie Lian back when he was Prince in XianLe..? Did San Lang really paint that? Now it's obvious San Lang isn't a mortal. No one would be able to paint it so accurately from 800 years ago.
You admire it for a minute and then go outside. San Lang and Xie Lian are standing by a cut wood pile. They both turn their heads toward you.
"Good morning Míngqín", "morning y/n". You nod back, noticing San Lang's hair is loose.
"Your hair will surely get caught if you don't put your hair up, San Lang" you haven't really spoken to San Lang the whole time since he's been here but you don't hate him. He did somehow make that painting after all. "Let me fix your hair San Lang" Xie Lian offers. He leads San Lang back inside to a bucket of water.
You know Xie Lian is checking if San Lang is a ghost, but San Lang looks like he is enjoying himself, "Are you just going to play with my hair gege?" Xie Lian is quick to get flustered and he puts San Lang's hair into a very messy braid. It looks messier than before.
You don't pay attention to the fact San Lang has started calling Xie Lian 'gege'. You snicker quietly at Xie Lian's flustered face, as he waves his hands telling San Lang he's all done with his hair. Xie Lian is not very good at doing hair, but San Lang looks happy with it. You don't bother offering to fix it.
"A-Lian it's your turn, come sit". You pat the stool. Xie Lian cooperates and you start combing through his hair. You've always brushed out Xie Lian's hair. He doesn't know how to get the knots out. Xie Lian used to just leave the knots there until you forced him to sit down one day so you could brush it out.
When you're finished brushing his hair you tie it up in his usual half bun-half down hairstyle. You step away from him and notice San Lang staring at you. It seems he's very good at staring.
"You should let gege do your hair as well y/n" you grunt and shake your head. No way you were letting Xie Lian put knots in your hair. You love him very much but you also love your hair.
"No it's alright" you wave a hand but San Lang insists. "I can fix your hair then. Gege did my hair, and you did Gege's. I'll do yours" he smiles. It sounds like generosity, but you've found whatever San Lang says sounds like teasing. You almost shake your head no, but San Lang looks like he really wants to indulge.
"I... Suppose" you hesitate. To fix your hair you would have to take off your veil and only Xie Lian has seen your face and even he hasn't seen it in so long. San Lang is very gentle when he removes your veil, as if he's touching something that will shatter. You cover your mouth with your sleeve. To hide the scars, you don't want them to be seen.
Your thoughts are interrupted by San Lang's fingers running through your hair. He combs it out gently. "Your hair is very beautiful y/n, has gege ever told you?" This flusters you, if you actually had the ability to blush then blood would have colored your cheeks. You have strange hair, it's long but it's white. It's always been like that but after ascending the officials were not your biggest fans. Especially since you stayed with Xie Lian. So they often make remarks about your appearance not that it bothers you.
"Thank you" you notice Xie Lian looking at you. You're eyes are the only thing that can be seen but he's still soaking up what you've hidden for the past hundreds of years before you hide it behind a veil again.
"How come this one hides his face?" San Lang asks as he does something with your hair. You don't know how to answer that so you redirect, "Does San Lang want to see it that bad?" He only laughs at this, and he moves into your field of vision. "I'm all finished. Gege take a look at y/n's hair is it nice?" You want to see what it looks like. You look into the bucket of water.
San Lang put your hair into a braid. He's tied your hair with a red ribbon, it must be San Lang's but you'll keep it. He gave it to you so it's only fair. You run your hands over the braid. Your hair hasn't been styled in a long time, there was never a reason to put it up after all. Your hair is usually left loose.
"it's very pretty San Lang. Míngqín why don't you keep the veil off?" Xie Lian cocks his head to the side. "Yes, there's no reason to hide your face." You furrow your brows, you could keep it off. You're just scared to have your scars out in the open. "... I'll think about it."
You hesitate, but you remove your hand from covering your mouth. To you, your face has been ruined. Your mouth has been slashed from a sword from a very long time ago. Scars line over your lips. You wished that they were pretty scars, with neat lines. They are not though. It's not so bad to show your face to San Lang and Xie Lian.
They stare at you, Xie Lian's look you can understand. You don't understand San Lang's look, he looks as if he's trying to soak up the details of your face too. As if your face is something he hasn't seen in such a long time. You've never met San Lang though...
Now that everyone's hair is fixed, San Lang is an exception to that - y/n giggles every time he sees it - , now they can start their morning. It's a good start to the day and Y/n thinks that San Lang has fit himself quite well into their routine.
Even though San Lang is a new addition to your group he makes it very easy to like him. Especially with how much he clings to Xie Lian's side, but San Lang also seems to be clinging to you too.
Criticism or comments plzzzz, I want to know if anyone enjoyed it or if there are ways I can make it better. I also want to know if people want to continue seeing the story! Also don't forget you can request me for stuff! 🖤✨
Y'all I've been thinking for ages how to make a two person scene a three person scene. What am I supposed to do, make two brides??? So if you have any ideas come bless me with them. 🫵🙃
Previous part: God of Song's second ascension
_____________________________________________
After you guide Xie Lian carefully out of the heavens so that he doesn't kill himself by accident . It takes a day to get to a tea shop. It could've taken longer, like three days but you saved yourselves sometimes. Since you can actually have spiritual prowess. The only reason it wasn't any quicker is because Xie Lian demanded you to not overwork yourself and use too much mana.
Xie Lian has always looked simple enough with plain, white robes. You on the other hand have to take on an 'avatar' you don't need anyone noticing you either. So you also dawn white robes, but of course a veil stays on.
You and Xie Lian sit at a table in the corner of the tea shop and you sit across from him. The two of you look over the scroll Ling Wen has given you... it isn't very helpful, but that's alright.
Both yours and Xie Lian's attention is captured by a silver butterfly. It flies across both of you and out the window. When you turn your head your heart almost drops out of your throat. Xie Lian is surprised as well to see two men sitting by you. One sat by you and the other sat by Xie Lian. There's only so much room on these benches after all.
You grimace at their presence. It's not hard to read the spiritual energy from them, they're obvious officials. You glare at them, Xie Lian is much kinder, "Oh uh who are you guys..?"
"Fu Yao" the one by you replies.
"Nan Feng" the one by Xie Lian replies.
You've never side eyed someone so hard in your endless years of life. At the 'Fu Yao' person beside you.
Ling Wen transmits a message to the two of you that they're volunteer officials. You huff inwardly. There's no way anyone from the upper court would offer their deputies from the middle court to help them.
That's because they aren't from the middle court though.
"Well I thank you for your help" Xie Lian says, quickly accepting their new guests.
"Which highnesses sent you?" You ask with narrowed eyes. You know they aren't deputies. Who are you to stress Xie Lian out more though, he already looks horrified when the officials answer his question.
"The palace of Nan Yang"
"The palace of Xuan Zhen"
"..."
Your glare only grows sharper. You've no clue why Mu Qing out of all people would want to help. You also have no idea why he would sit next to you of all people.
"Oh did your generals send you?" Xie Lian asks with a mouthful of tea.
"They didn't know we were coming" they answered in unison.
Xie Lian ponders for a moment, but you're quick to make the two squirm. Just because you can.
"Two officials from the lower court shouldn't go off without permission no? The trouble surely isn't worth it." Your eyes crinkle, as you smile at the two.
Lower court used to be what's now called the middle court. It was changed when whiny officials started complaining it made them seem trivial compared to officials in the upper court. To them an apparent mark to their honor. To you a pathetic attempt to seem important.
"..."
"..."
Your smile widens under your veil when they don't answer. What are they going to say? Their lack of words don't stop Fu Yao from glaring at you or from making Nan Feng squirm in his spot.
Xie Lian ever so kindly saves them, "Well do you know who we are?"
"You're his royal highness the crown prince and he's general /n"
"You're the justice of the mortal realm, the center of the world"
Mu Qing does not regard you at all and rolls his eyes when he answers.
Xie Lian chokes on his tea, "Did he just roll his eyes?"
" He did, tell him to scram" you and Nan Feng say together.
"Any official who was available was welcome to help so who are you to tell me to scram?" Fu Yao sneered. Again his words are only pointed at Nan Feng, not you.
"Ah well more help is better than none right?" Xie Lian smiles.
You sigh and all four of you go over the scroll together.
Eventually it begins to get dark and all of you will need to find a place to sleep. Long ago, Xie Lian and you would sleep in the streets or on the ground. You put a stop to that. After becoming a powerful enough ghost and god you entreated yourself to your own palace. Not in the heavens though, you chose for it to be in the ghost realm. This was a while before Crimson Rain took over ghost city
Your palace just happened to be in close proximity to it and eventually ghosts started inhabiting themselves. Now all three realms call your palace, "The city of the lost". It's rarely talked about because well it's "lost" not many people find it, your city also doesn't cause trouble. It's just kinda there.
That is where you would usually go though but now you have two more officials with you and you'll be damned if you bring Mu Qing into your city.
"Why don't we find a temple of Nan Yang? I'm sure there's one around." You say, standing next to Xie Lian.
The four of you do eventually find one, it's a little run down but it's good enough. Your attention is dragged away when you notice a girl praying. A girl praying in a temple of Nan Yang? Makes you want to give your heart out.
You can't resist your temptations when Xie Lian asks why the temple has so many women worshippers. It's unusual for a martial god's temple after all. While Nan Feng feels the need to block the question, Fu Yao indulges it.
"I know what you want to ask, you want to ask why there's so many female worshippers right?"
You hold the urge to cackle, and lean in close to Xie Lian's ear. You happily ignore the two officials's glares. You whisper to him, "Xie Lian many women worship Nan Yang's temple so in the future their man will have... Good assets" you giggle into his ear.
For a martial god it isn't normal for many women to pray in their temples. Xie Lian was an exception because he was more of a ' feminine god ' depicted with lotus flowers. You were an exception because of femininity and because you're the God of song. The arts, like dance, drawing, and song were more partaken by women than men. Most martial gods don't have femininity, so rare for women's prayers.
You stay close to Xie Lian's side as Fu Yao judges the poor girl to pieces, calling her ugly. Xie Lian sighs, "You can't talk about girls like that Fu Yao" but you can tell Xie Lian is thinking the same thing. You snicker placing a hand on your hip.
Xie Lian notices a slash in the girl's dress, he tries to offer her his outer robe so that she can cover herself but of course she freaks out. She moves to slap Xie Lian but why would you just stand there? You grab her wrist and throw her to the side. 'throw' is an overstatement it was truly a nudge.
Once Xie Lian tells her she has a slash in her dress she finally accepts his robe and then runs out of the Temple.
Now Xie Lian's undressed. Bandages over his chest, and neck can be seen now. Nan Feng and Fu Yao stare in quiet shock. You on the other stare in admiration. Xie Lian is undeniably beautiful. You chuckle softly and remove your outer robe, unlike Xie Lian you have an under robe on. You move it over Xie Lian's shoulders.
"Should've let her run out with the slash in her dress. It's just like you to give the clothes off your back, A-Lian" you hum softly. Xie Lian smiles in thanks and puts on your robe.
He does look very pretty especially in your clothes.
The next day all four of you go back to the tea shop. You aren't paying attention to the conversation about Mount Yunjin. You'd much rather pay attention to Wèizhī. The two birds hop around on the table and chirp away.
You decided to bring them today, simply because they bring you peace of mind. Of course they aren't only birds they're much more than that. Anyone would know if they're close to you, and they've seen the earring hiding behind your long hair.
Right now they're birds though and you'd much rather chirp away with the Magpies then pretend to chat with the officials next to you.
It isn't until loud drums and a gathered crowd outside has all four of you going outside to check it out. A line of men outside carrying a sedan is what the crowd is gathered for. As for the last inside the sedan... She looks like her neck has been snapped. It proves so when a fake head rolls to yours and Xie Lian's feet.
"Ew" you sneer and quickly kick it away. You assume whatever these mortals are doing is connected with the Ghost Groom. You stand to the side however as Wèizhī perches on your shoulders.
"If I was a ghost groom I'd kill the entire group for sending such an ugly thing to me" Fu Yao comments in disgust and rolls his eyes
"Fu Yao you aren't talking like an immortal should." Xie Lian said. "And can you fix that eye-rolling habit of yours? Why don't you set a small target for yourself first and only roll five days or something like that?"
" Set it fifty times a day and it still won't be enough!" Nan Feng yells
"Leave Fu Yao alone, if he rolls them hard enough maybe they'll fall out on their own." You add, with a snicker.
You're interrupted by yelling, one of the men in the group yelling about how it's useless and that they should just charge into Mount Yunjin and dragging an ugly freak out. They all hoot in agreement.
"Ugly Freak? Shopkeeper what are they talking about?" Xie Lian asks
The tea master explains, "The ghost groom has such an ugly appearance that no woman loves it, so he wears bandages around his face. That is why he kidnaps brides."
"Just because his face is wrapped in bandages doesn't mean it's ugly. There's a possibility it's so beautiful that it doesn't want others to see it, so he covers it up" Fu Yao says.
When Fu Yao quickly glances at you, you ignore. This isn't about you and you know that Fu Yao is truly a prick. No need to make something out of nothing.
Your group's attention is caught when the same girl from yesterday begging them not to go do anything dangerous and a man bitching at her because she refused to join them.
You don't care about anyone's affairs unless it has something to do with Xie Lian. You perk in attention when the man pushes the girl roughly, Xie Lian ever so kindly catches her.
Xie Lian uses Rou'ye to smack down the man and then just as quickly hides back in Xie Lian's sleeve. You snicker softly at the slumped man in the dirt. The man is not happy though, he's having none of it. He brandishes his sword and yells that Xie Lian is using wicked magic.
Nan Feng uses his palm to snap a wooden pillar of the tea shop and the group of men run in fear. You side eye Nan Feng. You have mixed opinions on him, but even after so long... "You're still just a brute dummy. You're paying for that" you smile behind the veil and return to Xie Lian's side.
The four of you eventually head back to the temple. With newly acquired information from Ling Wen, you now know that you're going to need a fake bride. However you can't use any mortals since it's a wrath level ghost.
"Well if we can't use women we'll have to use men" said Fu Yao.
"What man is going to want to dress up as a bride?" Nan Feng sighs.
The two suddenly have the same idea and look over to you and Xie Lian.
You watch as Xie Lian walks from the back in a brides dress, hair down and flowing. You sigh into your hand. It doesn't look like a bride at all
Nan Feng has a more extreme reaction, "Fuck!" He just can't stand to see Xie Lian in a brides dress, it's awful.
Fu Yao scans Xie Lian with a complicated look.
"Do you have something you wish to say?" He asked
Fu Yao nodded "if someone sent a woman like this to me..."
"you'd kill the whole town was it?" You snicker.
"No I'd kill the woman." Fu Yao replied frigidly.
Xie Lian smiles, "Then thank goodness I'm not the woman."
You hum, "A-Lian let me help you, obviously these two have and never will see a bride in their lives" you smile, "not unless it's each other..." You mutter the last part out.
"Excuse me..." The four of them look at the voice. It's the girl from earlier. She has a white robe in her hand and stands with trepidation. "I've washed these clothes to return them to you and thank you so much for yesterday and today"
You see Xie Lian smiles in response but suddenly remembers his attire.
"Are you... if you want I can help?" She asks, no longer shy.
"No miss you misunderstand this isn't a hobby of mine" Xie Lian laughs nervously.
You on the other hand are happy with this development. "Yes! Come help us."
And so that began Xie Lian's makeover. The girl has a sewing kit on her and helps Xie Lian fit into his dress. You do Xie Lian's hair - you do it all the time anyways - and together the two of you do Xie Lian's makeup. After you're finished with him, he looks like a proper bride and a damn good one too. If you weren't a ghost there would be a blush on your cheeks.
Guys. If anyone has actually read all of these parts I need y'all to tell me if Y/n is making sense. 😭 Like do we understand the background and his character? Do we understand the b i r d s?
Alright listen y'all. I'm adding a previous part to my first glance series. BECAUSE I really want my timeline to follow the novel's timeline and most of the lines follow the novel as well. I want the story to focus on my OC so obviously it'll be his pov. Be patient with me y'all 😭
The whole point of the part is just to give Y/n some depth? To explain partially my OC's background and abilities. Like I had to put some foundation for the ready bro.
Dúshé means poison laced tongue
Mûguô means bitch or whore
Míngqín means song bird
if you see the name Mei Li, just read it as Y/n I tried replacing them all but I'm blind
_____________________________________________
Y/n is a rarity. An unnatural beauty with white hair. A being who uses his siren like vocals and imitation against others. A majority of heaven officials are wary of him and are diligent on keeping their distance. The reason being, he dips between both realms.
Y/n is a ghost, who ascended and became a god. That's why most people don't like him. He's strange and shouldn't possibly exist. A ghost who became a god? That's an anomaly. What could be worse than that? An anomaly that has power.
He's a god of the upper court and yet he doesn't have his own palace. He rejected it choosing to make his own domain in the mortal realm. Just like a ghost would. His reason being? It's closer to Xie Lian. Y/n having so much power as a god and a ghost, with the ability to wipe out a nation leaves the other officials anxious. They'd prefer if he was banished from the Heavens. Which he was. Even then 6,000 temples stayed up in his favor.
They have many names for him: Y/n, God of Song, dúshé, general, and even the name mûguô was passed around for a while. Only Xie Lian uses the nickname, míngqín.
He used to be a general for XianLe and an imperial guard for Xie Lian. They grew up together, along with Feng Xin and eventually Mu Qing. But everyone knows the stories. Mu Qing stopped following Xie Lian after his banishment and never spoke a good word of him again.
Feng Xin and Y/n however stayed loyal. They grew up together, and were banished together. And yet Feng Xin and Y/n grew apart. Feng Xin and Xie Lian grew apart. Leaving y/n with Xie Lian alone. A banished ghost and a banished prince.
So their wishes came true, but not forever. When the bell in the Heavens starts to toll and shake everyone is expecting to see a newcomer. They must be powerful with how hard the bell rings, surely?
The official's hopes were diminished when they saw the familiar silhouette of Y/n and Xie Lian. He ascended a second time!? And Xie Lian he...he...he fucking ascended a third time?!
Y/n looks much different his face hides behind a veil now. Only his striking blue eyes can be seen. He stands by Xie Lian's side as the other officials whisper. None of them notice the bell fall... Or as someone's golden palace gets ruined.
Y/n stands next to Xie Lian while Ling Wen talks about his highness getting first place, for once. Of course for nothing good. Something about banishment but at least Xie Lian got 100 merits for it.
Y/n gets lost in thought and starts paying attention to his two birds, Wèizhī. It's supposed to be one, conjoined name but the twin birds liked the name for both of them. Yes Y/n has birds. While other gods have families as swords, or ghosts have butterflies. Y/n has his birds. They're Oriental Magpies and they represent Y/n perfectly. Both of them imitate others, and both of them sing.
Y/n's attention is brought back when Ling Wen points at a 'bell'. He looks over to the civil god with an arched brow. "Ling Wen I know you're tired but there's no bell up there", he says with a shrug
"There was a bell there. When general Li and his highness ascended you both caused quite the turmoil. Causing the bell to fall on a passing by heavenly official" she explains.
She points in another direction, "Do you see that golden palace?" Xie Lian smiles, "Ah yes I can."
"It was put up to replace an official's golden palace that was damaged from your ascension" and Xie Lian's smile falls into a nervous one.
"So we've offended many officials from the moment we arrived?" Xie Lian confirms
"If you can make amends maybe not"Ling Wen
Y/n places a hand on his hip and cocks it to the side, "How do we make amends then?"
"Easy, just pay eight million eight hundred eight thousand merits" Ling Wen adds, "Of course I know you both don't have a tenth of that amount."
Y/n gawks behind his veil. He groans and Xie Lian grins. ,"Please allow us to think about what we should do" he heaves a long sigh.
The two of them walk to the side and Mei Li watches Xie Lian crouch down in distraught. " A-Lian I can pay for it, half of it was my fault after all" you frown patting his head.
"Ah no that's not necessary, I'll find a way. So please don't waste your merits on me, míngqín." Míngqín, a nickname Xie Lian made for you long ago. You love it. Yes you are a songbird, and you're his songbird.
Y/n glances away, he'll pay for it when he gets the chance. Right now he'll stay by Xie Lian's side. "Oh we should probably find the array for the upper court. I don't have the password anymore." Xie Lian brings his fingers to his temple and Y/n does the same.
They search through multiple arrays, some even bet on how long they'll stay this time. When they finally find it someone whispers, "So his highness and his general are back?"
Xie Lian brightens when they finally find the array he's looking for, "Yes I'm back!" Y/n cocks his hip and doesn't answer.
The heavenly official chuckles languidly, "his highness and general /n caused a tremendous force this time, yes?"
Xie Lian rubs the back of his neck, "Ah well it wasn't so bad." Y/n crosses his arms.
Another official cuts in, "It wasn't so bad for his highness, but my luck isn't as good" While Xie Lian looks very sorry, Y/n doesn't.
It seems Xie Lian doesn't know who they're talking to but Y/n knows it's Mu Qing. He cocks his hip and Xie Lian thinks to himself, that one day Y/n might pop his hip out if he keeps up. "This one heard that General Xuan Zhen flicked it and the bell split in half though? Surely it didn't cause the great general much pain?" Y/n hums in fake sympathy and checks his nails.
They're interrupted by another official. Y/n sighs at this.
"Who the fuck knocked down my palace?! SHOW YOURSELF!" Y/n covers his ears as he recognizes Feng Xin.
Feng Xin and Mu Qing start bickering about something, Y/n looks over to Xie Lian. To see if he's doing okay with the familiar faces.
Xie Lian laughs nervously, "it was my fault I apologize, I didn't mean for it to get out of hand"
Mu Qing replies sarcastically, "Oh what a coincidence."
This upsets Y/n, he crosses his arms and sets a glare on Mu Qing. "Are you implying we did it on purpose as an act of revenge? General Xuan Zhen I thought you knew by now the world simply does not revolve around you. I think you want to be a victim." He spits. He refuses to sit here while Mu Qing slanders Xie Lian's name. Off to the side he can other people whisper dúshé.
Mu Qing scoffs, but Xie Lian cuts in, "I will try my best to compensate you, I apologize"
Y/n glares at Mu Qing's spot. The man glares back but he falls silent and invisible.
Xie Lian and Y/n leave the array afterwards.
Y/n frowns and plays with a piece of his long hair. "This one is sorry A-Lian, I just couldn't stay quiet"
Xie Lian waves a hand and smiles, "It's alright no need to apologize."
Ling Wen has invited Xie Lian and Y/n to the great hall so that's where they go. Y/n watches over Xie Lian's shoulder reading the scroll she gave them. Apparently they can earn merits if they solve this "ghost groom" issue.
Y/n hums, "We can do it A-Lian we've experienced worse"
Xie Lian nods, but looks back at Y/n nervously. "Yes but I also can't use any spiritual devices", "Then maybe it's better to get the help of some deputy generals?" Ling Wen adds.
"That's why I'm here, I'll gladly do the work for you-"
"But I don't want you to do all the work for me, I'll feel bad, so for my sake let's get help from some middle officials?" Xie Lian smiles nervously, of course he doesn't want to push Y/n. He does so much for Xie Lian already.
Y/n cocks his hip, and glances to the side "I suppose, but who will really come help?"
Xie Lian laughs, "Ah you're right. Ling Wen I'm afraid no one will willingly come to my aid"
She waves a hand though, "I'll get you some help don't worry". Then she goes into the array, and asks who could send two martial officials to help the emperor.
It probably would have worked too, if Mu Qing hadn't ruined it, "I heard the emperor isn't in the north at the moment. This help must be for his highness right?"
Ling Wen sighs, "You're always in the array these days General Xuan Zhen, congratulations you seem to have plenty of time."
"My hand is wounded, I'm currently nursing the injury." Mu Qing replies coyly
"Oh? You poor thing I didn't know it took a bell to take you out General" Y/n adds smugly.
They all leave the array once it's obvious no one is coming to help.
"It's alright A-Lian I don't mind doing it" Y/n hums softly running his hand over Xie Lian's arm.
"Yes, we're used to being alone so we'll leave it as is" he sighs.
"May heaven Officials give their blessings" Ling Wen says.
"No paths are bound!" Xie Lian replies and leaves in a dashing manner. Y/n follows him with a sigh. He has to make sure Xie Lian doesn't fall out of heaven.
The game requires a lot of grinding to collect items and Grimm to level up your cards to get past dance battles. I find that If you level up one of each sin card in both demon cards and memory cards it works best.

The March Hare sipped at his tea elegantly and perfectly as always. He took a small sip savoring the taste as his ears twitched from his inner delight. He placed the teacup down on the saucer, which he held in his other hand doing it in the most…
