... Why was Severine giving her that look? What did she miss, that was apparently extremely dumb and incredibly obvious? And what does this have to do with travelers from other countries? Sure, she's probably taken a couple, but it's not like anyone would come looking for them. They were complete dead ends - it's not like anyone would connect those disappearances to her.
Yeah, she's just going to push that aside and grimace at what the snake witch was suggesting. Tracking down an unknown witch in an unfamiliar land wasn't impossible, especially since surveillance was one of her specialties... but it was annoying.
“... Do I have to? I'm an old lady, I shouldn't be traveling that far unless it's important.”
Bridgette, you do not get to use that excuse.
“What if I let it 'kill' me and let the life energy revive my body? Wouldn't that trick it?”
Bridgette, you can't do that either. Stop making excuses to get out of being social.
Begrudingly, she'd move her arm out from under the blankets with another grimace, holding it out to take the piece of pottery. She'd need that to track them down. She really didn't feel like trying to out-smart another witch while laying comfortably in their own lair, just to get out of her own responsibilities. So she might as well get this over with.
"If I get ganked by people in medieval knight armor again, i'm coming back to haunt you specifically."
Ah, this is why old people are such a pain. Tell them to do something outside their comfort zone and they get all grouchy. Just like oversized children.
"If you're that bothered by the travel, then just take a boat or something. Get a cruise ship, with fancy beds and all you can drink wine. They'll take gold as payment."
The cauldron at the edge of the room rattles.
"Anyway, as far as those guys go, they tend to operate in Unova. This place, Louisiana, is much further south than that, on the bottom of the continent. It's sunnier there, more than anywhere in Kalos, so bring UV protection." Severine expects Bri to absolutely suffer in the swamp's humidity. This is a problem, because Severine won't be there to laugh at her.
"I'm feeling generous, so I'm giving you thirty days. If you can't get this dispelled in that time, then I'll send my cauldron, the beast it contains, an the slugma in there with it to your house." All things considered, not really that harsh a consequence-- "And I'll tell all the old gossips at Sybil about this." --ah.
