biography
born while her parents were away in greeneville, tennesse visiting family, then raised in the heart of charleston, logan grew up with the sweet, syrupy charm of the south. known for her once-broad accent and infectious enthusiasm, logan has always been a bit of a wild card. the kind of girl who'd be the first to dive off the pier without needing a bet or dare, she's lived her life with a sense of adventure that often left her parents scratching their heads.
during her high school years, logan was the epitome of popularity. the charming, friendly girl next door, she quickly became the darling of her community. a star cheerleader, she was the life of every pep rally and the center of attention at every game. her infectious energy and natural charisma made her a magnet for friendships, and she thrived in the spotlight. however, as much as she loved cheerleading and the social scene that came with it, logan struggled to maintain focus and drive in her academic pursuits. schoolwork never held her interest, and her grades began to slip. despite the warnings from teachers and concerned looks from her parents, logan couldnโt seem to muster the motivation to keep up. her carefree attitude, once an asset, became a liability as her lack of focus caught up with her.
as her grades plummeted, so did her ability to stay on the cheerleading squad. the loss of her place on the team marked a turning point in her high school experience. without cheerleading, loganโs social circle began to shrink. the friends who once flocked to her side drifted away, leaving her to navigate the rest of high school with a much smaller support system. she went from various community college degrees to another after high school, only after she retook her exams through mandatory summer school. she only just scraped by after her parents threatened to disown her if she dropped out; of which, she was more than tempted to do. the transition from popular and promising student to tardy outsider was a harsh lesson, but it also sparked the independent streak that would define her later years.
from a young age, logan found solace in the water. whether swimming in the local lakes or spending hours at the beach, she was always happiest when surrounded by the natural world. mountains, hills, long stretches of lakes. anywhere. she loved being centred, body and mind. however, despite her dedication to bettering her own health and psyche, loganโs laid-back attitude and love for a good time meant she found herself in situations clearly lacking sobriety, always seeking a balance between her adventurous spirit and her need to unwind. this habit originated in high school and previously found it's way into her day to day, though she's mostly cleaned up now.
after community college, it wasn't long before she packed up her life and moved from place to place, getting into some trouble with her personal life along the way. no one knows what transpired during her travels, it's never discussed. if asked, logan was just trying to find herself. and it isn't entirely a lie. she'll speak of the scenery and self-reflection, the post cards and old photos, nothing more. during her early twenties, at the peak of her travelling, logan found out she was pregnant. it was too late in pregnancy to consider aborting, and if completely honest, logan wouldn't have gave the notion a thought in the first place. going through the pregnancy was a lonely time, though she cherished it nonetheless. her parents told her not to come back home, cut off any support she had left, and she had no fixed address, no job, nothing to provide for this future life. that didn't stop her from trying. with the soon to be new addition in her life, she felt a sense of purpose she hadn't before. it moved quickly. before she knew it, the baby girl was there. labor was hard and complicated, but they made it through. that was only the beginning of her troubles. three weeks. that's all the time she had with her baby. at the time, it was nonstop nights up, the baby crying, logan crying with her, her friend pushing her to find somewhere else. she fell into a depressive state after doing her hardest, trying to find a job freshly postpartum, settle down somewhere. it all kept getting thrown back in her face. and despite all the love she had for the baby, she knew that this wasn't a life for her. she couldn't support her the way she needed to be supported. that's when she made the most difficult decision of her life: she gave her up. one night, she left her on the father's doorstep and never looked back. or tried.
she crossed states and city lines with nothing but an old backpack, her beat up car and a wish to be far away. though her relationship with her parents became tumultuous, time and distance has somewhat healed the rift, allowing them to find amicable groundโthough they still donโt always see eye to eye, and logan holds grudges for her previous treatment. logan's decisions loom over her like a ticking clock, forever walking on eggshells around them. an unnecessary imbalance of power.
finally finding a home in jasper after she managed to secure herself a role as co-owner of kiln and clay, proving herself to be a worthy partner with a real passion for the craft after months of negotiation. it took a few trials from inside sources, and introducing herself under a new alias, giving herself a step up rather than being met with disgruntled skepticism and prejudice because of her last name. besides, new place, new logan. she's still settling in, finding her footing, but that's nothing new to logan. new places are more like home than anywhere else. she wants to prove to herself she can thrive in stability, instead of finding new ways to avoid it. she wants to finally make a life for herself, a life that she couldn't have before. she has finally began to carve out a life that felt true to herself through her work. though she dabbles in various forms of craft and mindfulness, she practices her work with a surprising mix of discipline and thought. she strives to prove she isn't the same person she was in her lowest moments.
logan is a chronic oversharer, known for running her mouth a bit too much and letting you in on all the details of her lifeโ whether you asked for them or not. some say naive, others say charming. while her thoughts are always on display, her true depth of being is often more elusive, making her difficult to those who try to get close. some might find her refreshing; others might find her annoying, but there's no denying that logan is unapologetically herself.
