I had a lot of fun making this Santa apron (because everyone clearly needs to make their holiday baking EVEN MORE FESTIVE)!

Today's apron is Alice in Wonderland themed! (x)
Please head on over to my Etsy store and check it out
My aprons have fun themes but are actually useable in the kitchen, or wherever you use an apron. If you don't see anything you like (since this store is pretty new), please check out my sketches and feel free to request something by contacting me via tumblr or Etsy!
Disney-related sketches
Sailor Scout sketches
Misc sketches - ATLA, video games, Pokemon, Powerpuff Girls
Since I have way more ideas for cool aprons than I can possibly make in a short amount of time (and because it costs money to make aprons without having a customer already), I redrew a whole bunch of my sketches on illustrator. And because I'm pretty sure putting up an Etsy listing with just a sketch and no photo is frowned upon, I thought I'd post them all here. ETSY STORE HERE.
This is the ...third batch. Some ATLA, some video games, some Pokemon, and some Powerpuff Girls. As usual, there's two photos of aprons (Buttercup and Sailor Moon) for demo purposes, and a bunch of sketches.
If you're interested in one of these babies, inbox me or contact me on Etsy, and I'll put up a listing for you! Prices range from $28 to $50 plus shipping (unless there are unforeseen circumstances involving unexpectedly expensive materials).
As you can see from the photos of two that I have completed, they're quality aprons, with enough of a theme to be recognizable, but not so detailed as to make you frightened of using them!
Note: The Chell apron's ties would start at the sides and not be sewn across the middle and will be extra long, so as to wrap around the back and then tie in the front.
Sketches are approximate and may not correspond exactly to what the aprons would look like.

This is the Sailor Scouts batch! Two photos of aprons (Buttercup and Sailor Moon) for demo purposes, and all my Sailor Scout sketches. The bows will be removable for easier washing!

Hello all! I have not posted from this blog in a long time unfortunately, but a part of that is due to the fact that I've started an ETSY STORE!
It's called BACKstitching (which is a play on the fact that my initials are B.A.C.K.) and it's got fandom-related stuff as well as things that are just plain pretty! I haven't got a huge number of things on it yet, but I've got pages and pages of sketches, which I will link to over here:
Disney-related sketches
Sailor Scout sketches
Misc sketches - ATLA, video games, Pokemon, Powerpuff Girls
Please check it out - it's all pretty reasonably priced. My apron designs (because it's mostly aprons) are pretty simple - so you can have fun with a fandom-themed apron but won't feel like you can't actually use it in the kitchen (or wherever you'd use an apron). I am 100% open for suggestions - inbox me or contact me on the Etsy store and I'll see what I can do for you, whether it's a character request or you just want to add a pocket!

To my lovely followers- there's many more of you than I would have expected (considering I expected maybe one person that I knew irl and that's it)! I just wanted to say thanks for following me, especially the new followers (since I'm not sure where you came from as I haven't posted anything in a while). I will try to post something soon, I'm currently halfway through a pair of PJ pants!
Okay this one isn't a tutorial, just an idea - make a holiday card out of fabric scraps! Sew them together, and then sew them onto some thick paper (I took some out of a sketchbook) - I have no idea if it's bad for the sewing machine, but mine sewed through the fabric and paper no problem. You may recognize some of the fabrics from projects I've posted!
You could also do something else fun with scraps like this, like a little pouch for presents or a placemat or something.
I made this card for the deviantART holiday card project - I recommend everyone do it! You make a holiday card, send it in to them, and they distribute them to people in hospitals over the holidays. (If you have a deviantART account, you'll get a free one-month premium membership, but even if you don't, do it to do something nice for others and for the fun of making a card!)
I'm feeling Christmassy today!
This could be a fun Christmas gift! ...or keep it for yourself because it's super fun.
Of course, you could just call this a "holiday apron" or a "winter apron" if you don't celebrate Christmas. Heck, I don't celebrate Christmas! I'm not even Christian! But I love Christmas time and the lights and decorations and hot chocolate and tea and warm fuzzy feelings.
Not much detail in this tutorial (I'm not even sure it qualifies as a full tutorial), but that's because there are about a BILLION apron tutorials on the internet. One that's similar to this one is over here at The Dating Divas.

I used the MADE tutorial for the cutting and attaching the bias tape strips to one another, but the wikihow one for ironing it, as I didn't have a bias tape tool.

Elastic Waist Men’s-Shirt Skirt, Part 3. Part [1], [2]
I love this skirt because it’s got a super fun pattern, buttons down the front, and a big ol’ POCKET!
These are some fun extras that are not necessary, but that I am loving!

Elastic Waist Men's-Shirt Skirt, Part 1. Part [2], [3]
This is my first how-to! I made this skirt today out of a skirt that used to belong to my grandfather. It cost me next to nothing, other than the elastic and thread, and it is a nice way that I can feel connected to him.
I like it because it's got a super fun pattern, buttons down the front, and a big ol' POCKET (optional)!
(yes, I know, not the best selfie ever, but lighting is super weird in my house and everyone else around is awful at taking photos)
If anyone uses my tutorial, let me know! I'd love to see pictures!
that great moment when two people are like "i like your skirt" and you get to respond excitedly "thanks, i made it today!"
not the official photoshoot yet (which I will do at some point) but this is me, Dani - lemonyanemone, and Alex - lesbitimetravelers, as Astrid, Fionna, and Link, respectively. (the last picture is me and my friend Lia, who is dressed as Amy Winehouse… when your costume has an axe, you have to hold it up to someone’s throat)
I made my costume entirely from scratch (other than the leggings and boots), and a large percentage of Dani’s. Alex is responsible for Alex’s costume. Basically we are the coolest people ever.
If anyone is making cosplays at any point and would like tips on how I made any costume bits, send me an ask and I’d be happy to help! :)
While I'm being too lazy to put up photos of the skirt I just made, have pictures of my halloween costume! yes, a lot of it isn't sewed, but I did sew Astrid's stripey shirt, the Fionna hat and skirt from scratch, and I shortened the sleeves of the Fionna shirt.

Hello!
I have just made a skirt out of an old shirt of my grandfather's, and am in the process of making a step-by-step tutorial type thing of it. Very excited for my first real post (on this blog)
