The Drowning Girl is about a schizophrenic lesbian painter who's haunted by the picture of a girl she saw in a museum and that turns out to be a ghost she picks up on the road - unless she's being delusional again or maybe she's just lying to you bc she's bored? Also it features a transfem butch character like how cool is that.... The Red Tree is about a grieving older lesbian writer who becomes obsessed with the bloody folklore history of the tree on her property that's definitely not haunting her in the shape of the gorgeous woman supposedly renting the attic of her house.... Come on guys Kiernan's books are so cool.... She's literally a transfem horror author who used to be a paleontologist and was in a rock band in the 2000s..... She's so fucking cool and her short stories are unmatched and leave you laying on your back Pondering for hours..... Cmon yall what more do you need......
