there was recognition in the other’s eyes as wanda showed herself, she smiled kindly at the other – wanting to show that she wasn’t a threat, didn’t want to ever be a threat to those she considered on her side ever again. she’d hurt the avengers once before, she wasn’t going to go around and make a name for herself in that way. something told her that what she said may have confused the other a bit, and wanda gave a moments pause. “i have abilities that allow me to sense and see things that others normally or naturally cannot.” she gave another pause, “that is all i mean by that.”
“a you but not – i understand.” she gave a nod, finding that circumstances that which happened with thanos and the rest of that fateful battle were difficult to follow, but she managed by piecing them together slowly. “you will be on a different path, but that does not make it a bad one – you now have the knowledge of your former self – take it and apply it and use it to become who you are or who you want to be.” wanda realized she was beginning to sound like strange and paused, shaking her head at herself. giving a nod, wanda smiled at her, “yes, i did. i have trained myself to be aware of what is going on and around me. i make sure something like thanos can never attack us without warning again.”
she held her smile before letting out a small laugh, “i admittedly did not know your name – so thank you, i am wanda.” seeing gamora smile at her was relieving as it was beautiful. but hearing her words made wanda realized that what was going on wasn’t merely confined to the planet, and she should have known, should have guessed. “that is horrifying, i am so sorry,” she whispered, “things have not been well here on earth, cities from other realities have merged with ours – people from others are showing up.” she paused and bit at her bottom lip before giving her an equally firm handshake. “but I can assure you that we have an entire dedication to figuring this out if you would like to help us, we can help you.”
Gamora nodded her head at the woman impressed by this ability. She herself had enhanced hearing and vision that Thanos had modified along with many other aspects of her body but she didn’t possess those talents naturally. If one of her modifications ever failed her, she would be operating on a normal Zehoberei level. It was why she was so careful to maintain her mods in between missions. A bad mod wasn’t ever going to be the reason she failed in any aspect of her life.
She listened to the other girl’s words and thought about all of the things Nebula had told her about the other version of her. She made her sound like some kind of superhero. Could she really have changed that much in four years? That seemed highly unlikely she was sure her sister had to be mistaken. As much as she did want to try to make up for all of her wrongdoings she had done under Thanos’ command she wasn’t sure how to go about doing so or even if her attempting to do so would make any difference. Thanos had turned her into a monster. Could she really be anything else but that? “I only know what my sister has told me. I don’t think I can ever become that person,” she said looking at her reflection in the window. “That is a good tactic. The galaxy is large and Terra is on the outskirts. It is good someone is making sure this planet is secure,” she said sincerely. She may not have known much about Terra but every deserved to have some sort of defense system to protect it.
Gamora was surprised when Wanda didn’t know her name. She had to remind herself that her reputation didn’t reach this far in the galaxy. She had to admit it was a little refreshing having no one know who she was and all of the bad things she had done. “So its happening here as well...I’m sure its as chaotic as it has been on other planets,” she said looking at her her eyes widening at her proposition. “I have only ever worked alone,” she said pausing to think about handling this problem by herself when she had no idea what was going on. “I do want to hear what they have found however,” she said knowing this was a problem far too large for just her to take care of.
