yaz was the hero this entire episode and if i can't get them being wives, i'll forever at least have this moment
Is there any scene in tv show history more attractive then Yaz carrying her wife to safety like the strongest queen on planet earth... and the Moon?
There is only one correct answer... Hell no there isn't!
I actually don't even know how Doctor Who could ever beat this moment again... I think they peaked with this.
Seriously though in a way this was the moment that the torch was passed to Yaz. Symbolically, figuratively, and literally she was now the hero she was always destined to become. The Doctor had been the hero to countless people over countless years, but in this moment, Yaz was the Doctor's hero.
I don't think I can explain this adequately, but in the context of all this it almost makes sense for the Doctor to regenerate/degenerate into a previous form. There's a feeling of not needing to move forward, if only for a while. Yaz became the hero in part because 13 brought out the best in her and now that Yaz has (at least for now) taken over that role, the Doctor can, in a way, slack off for the next incarnation.
(Yes I realize the upcoming events in the 60th anniversary specials will soon prove me wrong, but this is the impression I'm getting strictly within the context of 13 and Yaz's story arc up through the final scene of TPOTD.)
