movie!hermione, w/ her advanced emotional intelligence and absolute willingness to meet each and every emotional need the boys have, should have of course been good at emotional magics like divination. shes fucking superwoman. but book!hermione? who destroyed a girls face without mercy because she ratted out the DA? who erased her parents memories so she could fight in a war? who solved dumbledores’ mysteries using ancient runes, an art that is practically the math of magic? book!hermione will destroy you and she will do it armed with the cold hard facts and the cold hard facts alone. book!hermione doesn’t give a shit. instead of getting a regular pet, book!hermione was drawn to a magical cat who is self-serving and intellectual and helped her gather clues rather than serving as an emotional companion. i mean fck.

I almost always see fan art depict  Remus as the tallest, which is weird because he’s the only one whose height is never mentioned.  Is this just because David Thewlis is taller than Gary Oldman?

JK Rowling tells us that James Potter is tall and that Harry is the same height as him by book 7. She tells us that Sirius Black is tall and that he is taller than Snape. She tells us that Peter Pettigrew is short– no taller than the 13-year-old Harry, who is short for his age at the time. In fact, she usually gives us the relative heights of most of the major characters– with the exception of Snape and Lupin, which leads me to believe that they’re both roughly average height, and if Sirius is taller than Snape, he’s most likely taller than Remus. 

Sirius is probably the tallest because, after coming back with the Resurrection Stone in book 7, he’s described as being ‘tall and handsome,’ and since James is the same height as Harry at the time, he probably wouldn’t think of someone shorter than James as being tall.
